Q:   Who can apply for IIFT exam?

A:

IIFT is a PG entrance exam thus the minimum qualification required is graduation. Check below the eligibility criteria:

  • Any candidate who has completed graduation with minimum 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent (45 per cent for SC/ST candidates)
  • Any candidate who is in the final year of graduation, can also apply for IIFT exam.
  • Any candidate having other professional PG degrees can also apply for IIFT entrance exam.
  • Apart from fulfilling the academic criteria, candidates also have to fulfill the entrance exam criteria which is CAT exam. For the batch of 2024-26, IIFT accepted CAT 2023 score for shortlisting candidates.

Q:   What is the IIFT Delhi application process for Executive MBA/PGDM?

A:

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can register and submit their applications. The application procedure is carried out online. Aspirants can follow the below-mentioned steps to apply for Executive PGDM at IIFT Delhi:

  1. Visit the official website of NTA i.e (iift.nta.nic.in) to apply online for IIFT admission 2024.
  2. Register and share the correct and valid email address in the form as most of the intimations are given via mail by the Institute.
  3. Login and fill out the online application form as per the details given in the Information Bulletin of IIFT programmes.
  4. Upload photo, signature and certificates and pay the application fee to complete the application process.
  5. Pay the exam application fee and hit the 'Submit' button.

Q:   What is the admission process for MBA at IIFT Kolkata?

A:

Hi.IIFT Kolkata admissions to its flagship MBA in IB course are based on the IIFT entrance test conducted by the NTA generally in the month of December. However, during the final selection, candidates’ performance in the essay writing, Group Discussion (GD), Writing Skills Assessment and Personal Interview (PI) rounds are also considered.

IIFT Exam Dates and Events 2025

IIFT Exam Registrations: The process of IIFT 2025 registration will be online where in candidates will have to fill an application form and pay the requisite application fee at the institute website. The online registration and submission of fees for IIFT is to be done before the last date.

IIFT Admit Card: If the exam is conducted for 2025 admission, the admit card for IIFT exam will be issued to registered candidates. Candidates will have to download their IIFT admit cards by using their IIFT login ID and password. The IIFT admit card can be download until the exam day. However, there will be no admit cards this year. This year, however, the admit card was not released as the exam was not held.

IIFT Exam 2025: If the IIFT entrance exam is conducted for 2025 batch it will be conducted in online mode at various test centres across India. Candidates will have to answer 110 MCQs from Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness in two hours. 

IIFT Result Declaration: The result of IIFT 2025 selection will be announced online at the institute website. The IIFT result 2025 will be announced in the form of candidate shortlist. PDF of the same can be downloaded from the official website.

Q:   When will IIFT shortlist for MBA admission 2024 be announced?

A:

IIFT shortlist for MBA admission 2024 was announced in the last week of April 2024. The shortlist process was announced at the IIFT Delhi website and candidates who will meet the cut off, will be required to fill the shortlist form for participating in the Writing Skill Assessment (WSA), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

The WAT-GD-PI round will be conducted in person at various cities. Selected candidates will be intimated about the same via email. The final admission process will be completed by May so that the classes can commence by June-July.

Q:   When should I start studying for IIFT exam?

A:

The candidate must start preparing for IIFT exam at least six months in advance. They should complete the IIFT syllabus in first three months and then practise a good number of mock tests and sample papers in the remaining time along with regular revision. The IIFT exam is a high difficulty level test, thus it is important for candidates to plan way ahead and start preparations at the early stage. Since the exam is held in December, candidates need to take the decision of preparing for it the latest my May-June so that they have at least 6 months for preparation.

Q:   When will cut offs be announced for IIFT admission 2024-26?

A:

IIFT cut off for admission to 2024-2026 batch was declared in February 2024. The cut offs was released by the institute on its official website along with shortlist criteria and admission process details. Since, for admission to the batch of 2024-2026 will be based on CAT 2023, the cut offs are based on the same. For 2024-2026 batch:

Sectional cut off for General category is 55 and and composite cut off is 30%.

For Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL, the sectional cut off is 50 and the composite cut off is 25%.

For, SC/ST/PwD/Kashmiri Migrants, Kashmiri Pandits, the sectional cut off is 30 and composite cut off is 20 %. 

For the previous batch of MBA International Business programme, the IIFT cut offs for General category was 40 percentile, whereas for General-EWS and NC-OBC categories, the cut off was 35 percentile. For SC/ST/PwD/KashmiriMigrants/Non-Migrants, the IIFT cut off 2023 was 30 percentile.

Q:   When does GD/PI round of IIFT admission process take place?

A:

IIFT conducts the Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round for IIFT admission in March and April. The WAT round is a 20-minute essay writing session in which a candidate is given a topic to write. The topic can be from any field like economics, society, philosophy, life, politics, international event, etc.

In 2021 and 2022, the WAT and GD rounds were not conducted and only the PI was conducted online due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, the institute had planned to conduct WAT-GD-PI face to face, but most of the candidates opted for online assessment, thus the PI was conducted through video call and GD was replaced with extempore. The institute will announced admission process for 2024 batch in February 2024.

Q:   What is the syllabus for the IIFT entrance exam?

A:
There are four sections to the IIFT entrance exam syllabus. The following is the IIFT syllabus: 1. Quantitative Analysis: In the quantitative analysis section, advanced mathematics from Classes 9 and 10 are covered, including arithmetic, geometry, Algebra modern mathematics, and numbers. 2. Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation: The data interpretation questions on the IIFT exam are based on line graphs, bar graphs, charts, and tables. The main subjects to study for the logical Reasoning section include circular arrangements, linear arrangements, puzzles, scheduling, coding-decoding, etc. 3. General knowledge: The General Awareness section of the IIFT exam covers both static and current GK from a variety of topics, including economy, politics, the world, sports, agriculture, brands, history, trade, industry, brands, awards, and personalities. 4. VARC The VARC section includes topics like antonyms and synonyms, paraphrases, one-word substitution, odd words out, and reading comprehension. Q:   What is the mode of IIFT exam?

A:

IIFT entrance exam is a computer based test. It is conducted in a single session at designated test centres. At the exam centre, every candidate will be allotted a computer system on which they will have to enter their answers with the help of computer mouse.

Candidates are allotted the IIFT test centre in the city of their preference. They have to appear for the IIFT entrance exam at that test centre on the exam day at a particular time as mentioned in the IIFT admit card. The option to choose cities for test centre allotment is given to candidates in the IIFT application form. Candidates can choose their home city or where they are likely to be in on the date for allotment of a test centre at the closest and convenient location.

A 90% attendance to all classes programme wise is required in the MBA IB (full time) course. The waiver of attendance is only provided in case of medical or other emergencies. Hence, The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) kolkata considers punctuality and attendance very important.
