The medium of instruction during graduation should be English. Candidates must also have completed at least 15 years of education based on the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 education pattern.

• Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. The graduation programme should have been completed with English as the medium of instruction.

Candidates who did not complete their graduation with English as the medium of instruction must submit a valid TOEFL, NELT or IELTS score by May 31, 2027.

• Minimum Education Requirement

Applicants must have completed a minimum of 15 years of education. This can be through either the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 education pattern.

• Final-Year Students

Students who are currently in the final year of their bachelor's degree can also apply for IBSAT. However, they must complete all graduation requirements, including practical examinations, viva and assignments, before May 31, 2027.

The admission of final-year students will remain provisional until they submit the required marksheets and degree certificates to establish their eligibility.

IBSAT Eligibility for PhD Programme

Candidates applying for the IBS PhD programme need to meet specific academic requirements. Candidates can qualify through a relevant postgraduate degree or through professional qualifications such as CFA, CA, CWA or CS.

• Eligibility Through Postgraduate Degree in Management

Candidates must have completed graduation in any discipline with at least 50% marks. The medium of instruction during graduation should be English.

They must also have a full-time postgraduate degree in Management from a UGC-approved university. The postgraduate programme should have specialisation in one of the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Human Resource Management
  • Operations

Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in their postgraduate degree.

• Eligibility Through Other Postgraduate Degrees

Candidates can also apply with a full-time postgraduate degree in subjects such as Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration, Statistics or Mathematics.

The postgraduate degree must be from a UGC-recognised university in India or an equivalent recognised university abroad. Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in the postgraduate programme.

Candidates offered admission through this route are required to undertake the first-year MBA courses as a prerequisite for continuing in the PhD programme.

• Eligibility Through Professional Qualification

Candidates with professional qualifications such as CFA, CA, CWA or CS can also apply for the PhD programme. They must have secured at least 55% marks in the relevant professional qualification.
