NIT Warangal has helped me enhance my decision making and problem-solving skills, says Kavuluru Vishnu Vamshi

Around 150 MBA aspirants appeared for GD/PI rounds. The rounds were not very tough and the panel was very friendly. I really enjoyed the interview process. Finally, I got admission to India’s oldest institute, NIT Warangal.
It had been a dream for me to pursue an MBA from a prestigious college. So, I started preparing for MBA entrance exams during my graduation. I did a lot of research and made a list of decent B-schools across the country. In September 2018 I gave MAT exam and scored 90.32 percentile. I got 678 composite score against 800. My MAT score made me more confident to clear GD/PI rounds at a few B-schools in which I had applied for admission. I realized that NIT Warangal also offers an MBA course but I was not sure about the details. I connected with the students on various social media platforms to get information about the course. I received several insights on placements, academics and fee structure from the students. I immediately applied for admission when the notification came out in January.
I was called for GD/PI rounds which were scheduled in March. Around 150 MBA aspirants appeared for GD/PI rounds. The rounds were not very tough and the panel was very friendly. I really enjoyed the interview process. Finally, I got an admission to India’s oldest institute, NIT Warangal. The world-class campus provided me with a plethora of facilities to accomplish my goals.
During the first year of my MBA, I got an opportunity to associate with several people. Many of my college experiences have helped me transform into the person that I am today. It has enhanced my decision making, team-working and problem-solving skills. I had an opportunity to observe and work with some groups and organizations which gave me an exceptional vision of the functioning of an organization. I believe that this unique blend of experiences has given me a good understanding of life. I had also been a part of organizing a National Level Management event CURA’20. The main motto of this event was to bring out our inner managerial skills.
Due to COVID-19, everything came to a halt. Though the college got closed, our learning never halted. With online classes becoming the new normal, we tried to become more active virtually. We did many productive things during the lockdown. We have a good bond with the alumni of the college. This has helped the college in conducting several webinars with the support of the alumni. The college conducted about 40 webinars in just 3 months.
We have also formed a team that actively manages social media platforms of the School of Management. The Linkedin page was created in April 2020 and we have about 750 followers to the page till now. We stand ahead of our near competitors in terms of followers. We have over 1950 followers on Facebook. The 'Social Outreach and Activities Team' of the college has burgeoned immensely to create an impact on society through its activities and thoughts. It aims to keep in mind the present-day social situations and create awareness by keeping people active and motivated to extend their services to society.
Abhiyan Club is a departmental club of School of Management. It is a student-centric club aiming to upscale the leadership, interpersonal and overall soft skills. During the lockdown, Abhiyan switched to online platforms to conduct their events online. The online activities included quizzes, case study discussions on marketing, operations, HR, IT, finance, Abhiyan News Board, virtual discussions and video presentations. We also launched our first newsletter on 30th May 2020. It includes all the achievements, milestones and happenings of the department. It also includes some fun-filled facts, quotes, puzzles, book recommendations, career advice from industry experts.
