NEET PG is a higher-level exam with a high level of competition. The NEET PG exam syllabus is extensive and covers all 19 subjects that a medico studies during the MBBS. The student's preparation time is also limited, and they must balance coursework and an internship.

How To Prepare with NEET PG Best Books?

NEET PG books should be used strategically so that every topics of every subject is covered at length. Some of the strategies have been enlisted below to use these books to score well in the exam:

Prepare subjectwise notes: Candidates are advised to take up one subject at a time and complete it thoroughly. Study and make notes of each topic. These notes prove very handy at the time of revision.

Aim to build concept: As NEET PG is one of the toughest exams, concept is the key. The objective should be to build concept and not to mug stuff. Shallow reading will not work. 

Revision: Keep the fact in mind that 3-4 times revision of each subject is must before the exam. There should be strategy in place for proper revision covering every subject.

Practice MCQ questions: Once candidate gain confidence of having clarity of concepts, they should go for practicing multiple choice questions. Candidates should solve sample papers and previous year’s question paper to understand NEET PG exam pattern. This helps candidates to take stock of the situation for exam preparation. Though it is difficult to score good rank in NEET PG with self study, nonetheless, it is not impossible. What is required is self discipline, honest effort, and good plan & strategy. Such candidates need at least 6-8 months time to prepare for NEET PG. Go through all the topics, focussing on concepts. Finish the whole NEET PG syllabus within first 3 months and then keep 2 months for revision and rest for practice.

NEET PG 2026 exam is expected to be held in August 2026. Candidates have to apply online to submit application form for NEET PG exam. Registration is mandatory to submit application for NEET PG. NBE will release dates and other crucial details such as application process, elligibility criteria, exam pattern etc along with the official brochure. The exam will be held in computer-based mode.

As such no section is easy in NEET PG syllabus. Some candidates may find clinical section easy while others may perceive para clinical as difficult. Q:   How many sections comprise NEET PG syllabus?

NEET PG syllabus mainly comprises three sections, Pre Clinical, Para clinical, and Clinical. Each section comprises different subjects which have to be prepared well to qualify NEET PG exam. The pre clinical subjects include anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. To cover para clinical section, candidates have to prepare subjects such as pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, forensic medicine, social and preventive medicine. Clinical part comprises subjects such as medicine, dermatology and venereology surgery, orthopaedics and anaesthesia, radiodiagnosis, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, and ophthalmology ENT.

One reason is Nationaal Medical Commission has to add some colleges and seats for 2025-26 session and second is the pending court case.
