How To Prepare with NEET PG Best Books?

NEET PG books should be used strategically so that every topics of every subject is covered at length. Some of the strategies have been enlisted below to use these books to score well in the exam:

Prepare subjectwise notes: Candidates are advised to take up one subject at a time and complete it thoroughly. Study and make notes of each topic. These notes prove very handy at the time of revision.

Aim to build concept: As NEET PG is one of the toughest exams, concept is the key. The objective should be to build concept and not to mug stuff. Shallow reading will not work. Candidates should have deep understanding of the subject so that they can answer any questions in the exam.

Revision is key: After finishing each subject, candidates should focus on revision. Keep the fact in mind that 3-4 times revision of each subject is must before the exam. There should be strategy in place for proper revision covering every subject.

Practice MCQ questions: Once candidate gain confidence of having clarity of concepts, they should go for practicing multiple choice questions. Q:   Can someone score good rank in NEET PG with self study?

Though it is difficult to score good rank in NEET PG with self study, nonetheless, it is not impossible. What is required is self discipline, honest effort, and good plan & strategy. Such candidates need at least 6-8 months time to prepare for NEET PG. Go through all the topics, focussing on concepts. Finish the whole NEET PG syllabus within first 3 months and then keep 2 months for revision and rest for practice. 

Q:   Which part is difficult in NEET PG syllabus?
A: 

As such no section is easy in NEET PG syllabus. Some candidates may find clinical section easy while others may perceive para clinical as difficult. In reality, all the three sections clinical pre and para clinical are equally difficult and candidates have to devote good amount of time to prepare in and out of every subjects. It must be noted, a good number of questions are clinical based, so this section holds huge importance.

Some topics of pre and para clinical are utmost important as lots of questions are from them. Point is candidates should prepare all three sections in such manner so that 90 percent questions can be answered easily. Last year, clinical section was difficult in comparision to other two sections.

Q:   How much time is sufficient for NEET PG preparation?

The time period required for the preparation of NEET PG exam cannot be stated accurately as it would be based on the capacity and ability of the aspirants. With proper hard work and dedication aspirants require a time period of around 5-6 months for preparation. A minimum of 3 months is required if you are entirely devoted to the process. A student must have to dedicate 8-12 hours for preparing within 3 months of time. Aspirants can make use of repeated mock tests and work out on past year question papers to have a deep knowledge about the pattern and subjects. 

Q:   What is NEET PG 2025 exam date?
A: 

NEET PG 2025 exam date has been revised. The exam will be held on August 3, 2025 after SC gave its approval to NBE. The exam was to be held on June 15, 2025 but it was postponed following SC's order, directing NBE to conduct exam in single shift.  Candidates have to apply online to submit application form for NEET PG exam. NBE released NEET PG 2025 application form on its official website, nbe.edu.in on April 17 and candidates will have to submit it there only. Registration is mandatory to submit application for NEET PG.

Q:   How many sections comprise NEET PG syllabus?
A: 

NEET PG syllabus mainly comprises three sections, Pre Clinical, Para clinical, and Clinical. Each section comprises different subjects which have to be prepared well to qualify NEET PG exam. The pre clinical subjects include anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. To cover para clinical section, candidates have to prepare subjects such as pharmacology, microbiology, pathology, forensic medicine, social and preventive medicine. Clinical part comprises subjects such as medicine, dermatology and venereology surgery, orthopaedics and anaesthesia, radiodiagnosis, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, and ophthalmology ENT.

Q:   How many hours should I study per day to crack NEET PG?

Candidates expect to devote many hours to crack any competitive exams. This rule applies in NEET exam also. Candidates have to devote serious 5-7 hours daily to prepare the exam throughly. Experts belive candidates should utilize this time with proper planning. They should have strategies in place how to use these hours to cover in and out of every topic of NEET PG syllabus. Q:   Will NBE change NEET PG 2025 pattern?

No. NEET PG 2025 pattern has not been changed for 2025-26 session. NEET PG 2025 pattern was released along with the official information brochure on April 17, 2025. NEET PG 2025 exam will be conducted in computer-based mode in two shifts. The question paper will comprise 200 multiple choice questions and candidates will get 3.5 hours to attempt them.

Q:   Will marks be deducted for unanswered questions in NEET PG?

No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions as per the existing NEET PG pattern. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating marks of a candidate. Candidates are advised to attempt only those questions where they are confident of right answer. If there is iota of doubt of correct answer, candidates are advised to leave that question. Otherwise, negative marking may reduce your total score which will ultimately impact your overall performance.
