FMGE results have been cancelled for a few students from the year 2021 to 2025 as per the notice on the NBEMS portal website. The names of the students are Sohan Lal, Yumkhaibam Abas Khan, Athar Alam, Mohammad Imamuuddin, Qazi Mohammad Irfan, Piyush Kumar Sharma, Saurabh Srivastav, Kaviya S., Prakash, Iram Shaheen, and Ankita Borkar. The candidature of these candidates has been cancelled due to the use of unfair means in the examination. As per the notification, all these students will not be able to use their FMGE exam results for any further employment, admission to a postgraduate course.  

FMGE 2025 pass certificate dates were released by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. Applicants who were declared qualified must attend in person to collect their FMGE June 2025 certificates. Authorities are distributing the FMGE 2025 passing certificates between September 16 and October 15, 2025. Applicants who are declared qualified must report on the specified date and time to collect their pass certificate. Additionally, candidates must present a printed copy of the “Entry Slip” for entry into the NBEMS office.

FMGE 2025 scorecard was released on August 21, 2025, on the official website at natboard.edu.in. Only candidates declared qualified will be able to collect the FMGE certificates to practise as doctors in India. What is FMGE?

Foreign Medical Graduate Examination or FMGE is a licensing examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). An Indian citizen or OCI who has completed their primary medical qualification from an institution outside India, but wishes to practice in India needs to clear this examination to register with the National Medical Commission (NMC)/State Medical Council (SMC). However, as FMGE was introduced in the year 2002, candidates who had completed their primary degree course on or before March 15, 2002, are not required to appear for this examination. One must also note that FMGE is not an entrance test and cannot be used to seek admission to any institute. It is a licensing examination for foreign medical graduates. The exam is held twice a year, in December and June. If someone is not able to clear the FMGE exam in June, he/she can attempt it in the December session. 

In the year 2023, out of the total 38,355 candidates who appeared for the exam, 30,046 failed and only 8309 could pass this exam. The passing percentage was around 23%.

Q:   How many times can I attempt FMGE exam?

Students who want to appear in Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) exam must note that this exam is a licensure examination for Indian citizens who completed their medical education abroad. 

This exam is conducted twice in a year one in June and other in December. Applicants need to fill the form seperately to appear in the exam.

Q:   What is success rate in FMGE exam?

There are around 35- 40 thousands student participate in the FMGE exam every year. According to the previous year FMGE result statistics, the number of candidates who qualify and secure the FMGE certificates every session is between 20 - 30 %. Though this data can be changed if the number of applicants or difficulty level of exam changes drastically. 

Last year in 2023 a total of 38,355 applicants participate and the FMGE passing percentage was 23%

Q:   Can I apply for the FMGE exam without having MBBS degree?
A: 

No, Students who want to appear & qualify FMGE exam must have a MBBS degree. FMGE exam is conducted for the students who completed their MBBS degree from abroad and they want to practise in India. Though there are certain countries like UK, USA, Austraila, Canada & New Zeland, students passed from these countries don't need to appear in FMGE exam to practise in India. 

Q:   Will FMGE exam held in offline mode?
A: 

No. The FMGE 2025 exam will be held in computer-based mode. Each candidate will be provided a separate desktop at the exam centre. Questions will have to be answered on the screen. Registrations will be open on the official website to submit the application form for the exam. It is important to read the official information brochure carefully before applying online for the FMGE 2025 exam. The information brochure carries details regarding eligibility criteria, application process, exam pattern, etc.

Q:   Will FMGE pass certificate be issued online or offline?
A: 

FMGE pass certificate are issued offline. Those who qualified FMGE June session 2025 will have to be in-person at the office of NBE to collect the certificate. 

The authorities will issue FMGE certificates in offline mode only. Students are advised to download the certificate from the official website. The official dates for FMGE certificates for June session are yet to be out and it will be updated once it is out.

FMGE 2025 Registration/Application Form

FMGE 2025 registration is the first step for admission. Eligible candidates who want to appear for the December session will have to get themselves enrolled on the official website of NBE. After completion of this process, candidates will be allowed to fill FMGE 2025 application form.

The last date to register for FMGE 2025 will be mentioned in the notification. After filling in all the details, candidates will have to pay the FMGE application fees 2025. For the FMGE 2025 exam, candidates will be required to pay INR 6,195 as an application fee. NBE also opened multiple correction windows to modify details in the application form.

FMGE 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in applying for the FMGE 2025 June session are advised to check the below eligibility criteria before registering for the exam: 

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian national or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)

Qualification: The candidate should possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned

Documents: Candidates have to submit proof of primary medical qualification. If someone fails to submit the required documents within the stipulated time, he will not be considered eligible for the FMGE exam.

Exemptions: Candidates who have completed their undergraduate medical qualification from the below-mentioned countries do not have to appear for FMGE for registration with MCI, provided they are eligible to enroll as medical practitioners in the respective country.

Q:   What will be the last date to register for FMGE 2025 exam?

The FMGE 2025 registration started on April 28, 2025, at 3:00 PM in online mode at the official website. Students were given around a month to fill FMGE application form 2025. The last date to register for the FMGE 2025 was May 17, 2025

Students must note that last year's FMGE 2025 application fee was reduced in the June session; hence, now applicants had to pay INR 6,195 instead of INR 7,080. 

Q:   What is the application fee for FMGE?
A: 

The application fee for FMGE 2025 is released along with the official information brochure. The FMGE 2025 application fee will be announced soon on official notification. FMGE registration fee is INR 5,250 + 18 per cent GST.

So total amount will be INR 6,195. Candidates will have to pay the registration fee to submit the application form for FMGE 2025. It must be noted registration fee will be paid with online modes such as credit/debit card or internet banking etc. The registration fee is nonrefundable if your application is rejected due to any reason. Aspirants are advised to check the eligibility criteria carefully before applying online for FMGE 2025 exam for the June session.

Q:   When can I do the correction in FMGE application form?
A: 

Students can edit all the details excpet name, email, mobile, test city and nationality between the given time. After this, the correction in photograph, signature and thumb impression can be done between later on a given date. 

Only those candidates can edit their FMGE 2025 application form who filled the form successfully within time.

FMGE 2025 Exam Pattern

The FMGE 2025 June session exam will be conducted online at various designated centers decided by NBE. According to the FMGE 2025 exam pattern, the examination will have two papers, in which 150-150 multiple-choice questions will be asked in the exam. The question paper will be in English language only. Students will be given 150 minutes to ask 150 questions. 

There will be a scheduled break between the two parts. Each question shall have 4 response options. Candidates will have to choose the most appropriate response out of the 4 options provided in each question.

Q:   What is the exam pattern for the FMGE?

FMGE exam pattern comprises mode and medium of the exam, total number of questions and their type, time allotted etc. The exam will be held in computer-based mode in English language only. The question paper will be divided in two parts, A & B. Total 300 multiple-choice questions will be asked and candidates will be provided 2 hours 30 minutes for each part. Candidates who score the minimum cut off will be declared qualified for the exam. The minimum qualifying marks is 50% of total, I. e 150 marks out of 300.

Q:   Will there be any subjective type questions in FMGE ?

No. The FMGE 2025 exam pattern clearly states that the question paper will only have multiple choice/objective types questions. There will be 300 questions for which 5 hours will be allotted to the candidates. Each question will have a weightage of 1 mark. There will be NO negative marking in the exam.

Q:   What will happen if I reach the FMGE 2024 exam centre a bit late?
A: 

Applicants are advised to reach the exam centre on time, they are also advised to check the exam centre 1 day before the exam. Candidates reporting late or after the time mentioned in the admit card shall not be allowed to appear in the exam under any circumstances. 

Hence students are allowed to reach the FMGE 2025 exam centre on time and enter the exam premises within time so that he/she can attempt the exam without any hassle. 

Q:   Can I change my FMGE 2025 exam centre?

No, the exam centres of FMGE are assigned by the exam conducting authorities after lots of debate & discussions hence one can not make a request to change the exam centre.

Applicants who completed their application form on time were issued the FMGE admit card on July 22, 2025. This document is important for students to visit the test centre to appear in the exam. The FMGE 2025 admit card comprised details like the candidate's name, date of birth, exam time, and schedule. Applicants can download the admit card by entering their login details. Applicants are advised to visit the exam centre by carrying the following documents.

  • Candidates had to undergo the security procedures at the exam centre, which included frisking (using metal detectors) and biometric verification
  • Candidates who have not been issued the admit card of FMGE 2025 are not allowed to appear for the examination
  • Finger biometrics are not captured this year - instead, Face ID verification was carried out
  • Candidates were allowed to carry the following items to the exam centre:
    • Personal transparent water bottle (water dispenser will not be available, candidates will be provided bottled water)
    • Exam-related documents (Admit card, ID Card, etc.)
  • Friends/ relatives accompanying the candidate were not allowed into the examination hall
  • Things that were banned inside the examination hall:
    • Stationery items: books, notes, plastic pouches, geometry boxes, writing pads, erasers, pens, pencils, etc.

Q:   I lost my FMGE admit card. Where can I get a duplicate?

A candidate can re-download the FMGE 2025 admit card from the official website of NBE. The process for downloading the admit card is to visit the official website of NBE, login using the User Id and password, click on "Download admit card" link, and then download and save the admit card of FMGE 2025

Q:   My date of birth is incorrect on the FMGE admit card. What should I do?
A: 

If a candidate has filled the date of birth correctly in the application form and it has been misprinted on the FMGE admit card, then he/she must contact the office of NBE and get it corrected. But if the date of birth filled in the application form is incorrect, no changes in the same can be made in it.

Q:   When will NBE release admit card for FMGE?
A: 

NBE will release the FMGE 2025 admit card for the December session on the official website, tentatively around 10 days before the exam. The admit card can be downloaded online around a week before the exam. Candidates who successfully fill the application form are provided the FMGE hall ticket.

FMGE 2025 Cutoff Marks

The FMGE cutoff 2025 is also referred to as FMGE qualifying marks to get a certificate. The FMGE cutoff marks are the minimum marks that applicants need to secure to pass the exam. Since the FMGE exam is conducted for a total of 300 marks hence the qualifying cutoff marks for FMGE is 150 marks.

FMGE 2025 Result

The FMGE 2025 result has been published online at the official admission portal on August 13, 2025. NBE doesn't send the result to any candidate at their postal address or email ID. The FMGE scorecards will also be provided to the candidates around a week after the declaration of the results on August 21, 2025.

The FMGE result comprises candidates' roll number, marks obtained (out of 300) by them, and their qualifying status. Those who secure 50 percent out of the total marks of 300 are qualified for the exam and become eligible to get the provisional registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC). A candidate shall be declared as having passed only if the student obtains a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 in the examination. Results (Pass/Fail) for eligible candidates will be displayed on the NBEMS website. There is no provision for re-totaling/re-evaluation/ award of grace marks in FMGE. Only qualified candidates will be able to download the scorecard using their user ID and password. 

FMGE Pass Certificates 

Candidates who qualify for the examination will be issued the Pass Certificates for FMGE 2025. These certificates have to be collected in person from the office of NBE. Upon presenting this certificate at the MCI, they will be issued the registration certificates and be eligible to practice in India. Candidates must carry the original documents and visit personally to collect the certificate.

Q:   What is the result declaration date for FMGE ?

The FMGE June 2025 result was declared online on August 26, 2025. The result was released online in PDF form. It must be noted the result of particular session will be valid for that session only. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam.

The minimum cut off is 50% marks, i.e 150 out of 300. Qualified candidates will have to download the scorecard for FMGE 2025 from the official website on or after the specified date. Though students have to fill the FMGE application form every time, followed by paying the application fees. Hence it is advised that applicants need to be prepared before appearing for the exam.

NBE declared FMGE 2025 June session result within a month after the conclusion of the exam. The authorities released the FMGE results 2025 on August 13, 2025. Though it was scheduled to be released by August 262025

The FMGE scorecard will be available for download from the official website, natboard.edu.in around a week after the declaration of the result.

FMGE 2025 Certificates

Only those applicants who qualify for the FMGE exam will be entitled to receive the FMGE certificates 2025. To collect these certificates applicants need to visit in person with the center with required documents and original ID proof within four weeks of the declaration of the FMGE exam results. Due to unforeseen situations, this period may increase. It will be notified on the website after the declaration of the results.

The details of documents to be brought for “in-person” verification will be mentioned in the entry slip for FMGE PASS certificates collection. It is to be noted that if for any reason applicants are unable to collect the certificate within the given period then they can collect the certificates within six months after the declaration of the FMGE results, after which no further opportunity will be given.

Q:   Is there any concession for reserved category candidates in the FMGE registration fee?

No, there is no concession in fee for reserved category candidates. Applicants for FMGE 2025 need to pay a non-refundable registration fee of INR 6,195 irrespective of their category. Registration is mandatory to submit FMGE application form online. Candidates have to submit applicants name, date of birth, gender, nationality, mobile number, Email ID etc. as part of registration. After registration, details in the application form are filled followed by selection of exam centre and paying exam fee. The application form for FMGE is submitted only when registration fee is submitted successfully.

Q:   What is size of photograph which needs to be uploaded while doing FMGE registration?
A: 

While filling the FMGE 2025 application form students need to ensure that photograph should be coloured and without background. It should have white background and candidate's name & date should be mentioned on it. 

The ideal size of image which needs to be uploaded must be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm. The maximum size for the image is 80 KB and acceptable format should be of .JPG/.JPEG/.IMAGE.

Q:   When will FMGE city intimation slip be released?

The NBEMS released the FMGE 2025 city intimation slip for the first time. It was out on July 10, 2025, on the official website. By checking the FMGE exam city intimation slip, students will be able to plan their traveling and stay in advance before the admit card is out. 

Q:   When will FMGE 2025 application form be released?
A: 

The authorities provided official dates of release of June session soon. The FMGE 2025 application form could be filled from April 28, 2025

Candidates had to submit online application form for FMGE 2025 June session in online mode only from the official portal only. Registration is mandatory to submit application form for FMGE exam. Candidates had to login to the official website and submit name, date of birth, nationality, mobile number, email ID for registration.

After registration, login ID and password was generated. Thereafter, candidates had to login and fill application form online. The application for FMGE gets submitted only after submission of application fee. NBE will open the application correction window after the registration window is over.

Overall there will be 100 questions asked in the exam from Pre and Para Clinical Subject. Out of these 100 questions around 17 questions will be based on Anatomy section. Along with it, the same 17 questions will be asked from Physiology and Biochemistry sections as well. 

Students are advised to attempt all the questions which are asked in the exam as it does not have negative marking scheme.

According to the official notification, a total of 300 questions are asked in the FMGE exam. Though students will have to solve 150-150 questions seperately. Q:   Do I have to pay any fees if I want to download the FMGE admit card again?
A: 

No, there is no fee for downloading or re-downloading the admit card of FMGE 2025. Candidates can download the admit card free of cost, as many times as they wish to. Once the application process concludes and the applicant has paid the fee, a candidate is eligible to download the FMGE admit card issued by NBE on the stipulated date.

Q:   Can I pursue a master's degree from India if I don't clear FMGE?
A: 
No, it is mandatory to clear FMGE if you have completed your undergraduate medical degree programme from outside India. However, candidates with an undergraduate medical degree from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United States of America or the United Kingdom, are exempted from FMGE. They need not to appear for FMGE exam for pursuing Masters in medical field. Candidates have to apply on the official website, NBE. Edu. In to register and submit application for the exam.
Q:   Will FMGE pass certificate be issued online or offline?

FMGE pass certificate are issued offline. Those who qualified FMGE June session 2025 will have to be in-person at the office of NBE to collect the certificate. 

The authorities will issue FMGE certificates in offline mode only. Students are advised to download the certificate from the official website. The official dates for FMGE certificates for June session are yet to be out and it will be updated once it is out.

Students must note that eligibility criteria remain the same for both the sessions.

1- Foreign medical graduates must be a citizen of India or should be OCI (Overseas Citizens of India).
2- Candidates must possess a primary medical qualification from the recognised institution, which must be confirmed by the concerned Indian Embassy of that country.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts. Students can appear for FMGE exam as many time as they want and until they pass. This allows candidates to improve their preparation without any official attempt cap.
