NEET Exam Date 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon announce the exam dates for the NEET UG 2026 exam. The dates will be announced with the release of the NEET 2026 notification and bulletin. The NEET UG notification is likely to be out in February 2026. The NTA will activate the NEET application form 2026 link with the release of notification. The NEET exam is likely to be held on May 3, 2026, from 2 to 5 PM. Q:   Will there be NEET exam in 2026?
A: 

There will be NEET exam in 2026. The NEET UG exam is usually conducted on the first subday of May. It is likely that the NEET 2026 exam will be held on May 3. However, the NTA has not announced the dates and schedule as of now. 

Q:   How to enroll for NEET 2026?
A: 

Students can enroll for the NEET UG 2026 exam by filling out the application form. The NTA NEET form will be released along with the notification. Eligible students need to register for the exam and submit their applications. The NEET application fee needs to paid online with the form.

NEET Exam Dates 2026: Exam Events

NTA schedules NEET UG dates for multiple events, including application, admit card, exam, answer key, result and counselling. The overall duration ranges from approximately seven to eight months. Below are the salient features of the NEET 2026 exam dates and the related events.  

  • NEET Exam Date 2026: NTA will soon announce the NEET exam date. Last year, the NTA NEET exam date was announced with the release of the application form and information bulletin.  
  • NEET 2026 Application Dates: The application form for NEET 2026 will be released online. The NEET 2026 registration dates will be mentioned in the notification itself. The NTA provides the form correction facility for all applicants as well.
  • NEET 2026 City Allotment Slip: The NEET advance intimation of the examination city slip is a document with the name of the exam city, released before the admit card. NTA will release the NEET city allotment slip 2026 a week before the hall ticket.
  • NEET 2026 Admit Card Date: The NEET 2026 admit card will be released four days before the exam. The NEET admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the NEET exam centre and must be preserved till the counselling process is over. 
  • NEET 2026 Answer Key Date: NTA will release the NEET 2026 provisional answer keys and OMR response sheets within a month of conducting the exam. The challenge or objection submission window opens on the same date. The final NEET 2026 answer key will be released ahead of the result.  
  • NEET 2026 Result Date: NTA will release the NEET 2026 result and scorecard online within a month of conducting the exam. The NEET 2026 cutoff will also be released along with the NEET result in the scorecard. In the NEET merit list, NTA releases the NEET city and centre-wise result data, the total number of candidates appearing and the marks obtained by them.
  • NEET 2026 Counselling: NTA’s role is over with the release of the NEET scorecards. The counselling for NEET 2026 will be conducted by the MCC. The entire duration of NEET counselling is around four months. There will be four to five rounds of NEET counselling.

Q:   What is the NEET registration date?

The NEET 2026 registration process will start soon. The last date to complete the registration process will be a month after the commencement. Registration is the first step of application wherein candidates have to enter the basic details, validate the OTP and create password. In the NEET application process, candidates have to login with their credentials and then fill up the form, upload documents and pay the application fee of NEET 2026.

Q:   Who decides the NEET exam date?
A: 

The NEET exam date is decided by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body, on behalf of the Ministry of Education. NTA decides the NEET exam date after analysing several internal and external factors such as the previous year's exam date, Board exams and other entrance exam dates, elections, festivals, to name a few. 

Q:   When does NTA release the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip?
A: 

NTA releases the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip around 10 days before the exam. The document needs to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration details. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET admit card. 

Q:   What is the NEET 2025 result date?
A: 

The National Testing Agency announced the NEET 2025 result on June 14, 2025. The NEET 2025 final answer key was released on the same date. Last year, the date of NEET result declaration was June 14, but the result was announced 10 days in advance, on June 4, 2024. 

Q:   Will NEET be conducted twice?
A: 

Although earlier NTA was mulling the idea of conducting NEET twice a year, now it has been confirmed that the exam will be held only once a year in a paper-pencil based mode. NTA communicated this information through an RTI response where it was stated that NEET will be conducted once a year. This has quashed the possibility of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the NTA expert committee headed by ISRO Chief K. Radhakrishnan has recommended conducting NEET twice a year, but there has not been any official confirmation on it yet. 

Q:   What is the format for the NEET exam?
A: 

The format for NEET exam is a total of 180 question with total 720 marks. Four marks will be awarded for a right answer and one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. The questions will be objective type that is MCQ based. 90 questions will be from Biology including Zoology and Botany both, and 45 questions each from Physics and 45 Chemistry. Each subject will be divided into two sections. The syllabus will be that of Class 11 and Class 12 CBSE syllabus.

Q:   When will the NEET admit card 2026 be released?
A: 

The NTA will release the admit card for the NEET 2026 around three to four days before the exam. The NEET admit card will be displayed at neet.nta.nic.in. Registered students can download their hall tickets using the login details.

Q:   When will NEET exam city slip 2026 be released?
A: 

The NTA NEET UG 2026 exam city slip will be released around 10 days before the exam. Students will get to know the allotted exam city through the city intimation slip. The NEET exam centre will be located at the allotted city.

A: 

Mock tests are an important aspect of NEET preparation. Preparation will be incomplete without taking NEET mock tests. NEET 2026 mock test will give students exposure towards the exam structure. It will also help them understand their preparation level and mistakes to avoid. Students must get the performance analysed thoroughly by an expert or mentor.
