FMGE is an exam for Indian students who have obtained their medical degrees in another country but want to work as doctors in India. This test is organised by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The purpose of this exam is to check if the student have the good medical knowledge to treat patients.

FMGE 2026 Difficulty Level is also provided on this page. The FMGE exam is a screening test carrying 300 total marks. Students have to score above 150 to qualify the examination. The exam is divided into two sections, where paper 1 carries 100 marks, and paper 2 carries 200 marks. FMGE 2026 paper 1 was conducted from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, while the exam timing for FMGE 2026 paper 2 was from 2 PM to 4:30 PM.

FMGE 2026 Question Paper Analysis
The FMGE exam question paper for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is different, as Paper 1 is for pre and para-clinical subjects, while Paper 2 is for clinical subjects. The FMGE 2026 question paper analysis highlights the difficulty level in comparison to previous sessions, topics from which the questions were asked and other related aspects. NBE released FMGE exam pattern along with official information brochure. A total of 300 questions will be asked in exam. Question paper will be divided into two parts, 150 questions each. Questions will be multiple choice. Students will get 2.5 hours to solve each part.
According to the official notification, a total of 300 questions are asked in the FMGE exam. Though students will have to solve 150-150 questions seperately. There will be a time interval between both these exams. The nature of questions which will be asked in the FMGE exam will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
FMGE 2026 Paper 1 Analysis
The FMGE Paper 1 consists of 100 marks. The FMGE 2026 Paper 1 analysis, based on students' reactions, highlights that the exam was moderate. Students have shared mixed responses. The FMGE 2026 paper 2 analysis is now available. Students reported that the FMGE paper 2 exam for December 2025 session was moderate. The timings for FMGE paper 2 were between 2 PM to 4:30 PM. No. The FMGE 2025 exam pattern clearly states that the question paper will only have multiple choice/objective types questions. There will be 300 questions for which 5 hours will be allotted to the candidates. Each question will have a weightage of 1 mark. There will be NO negative marking in the exam.
There will be a total of 200 questions asked in the FMGE exam from the Clinical subject. Out of these 200 questions around 30 questions will be asked in the exam from Obstetrics & Genecology. Though the final number of questions can be changed in the exam.
No, it is not mandatory to solve all questions as per the FMGE exam pattern. There is no negative marking in the examination; therefore, candidates can solve as many questions as possible without having to worry about the negative marking. No marks will be deducted if questions are left unattempted.

FMGE 2026 answer key for the December 2025 session will soon be available. Several coaching institutes and experts release the FMGE answer key PDF on their social media platforms. Once released, we will provide the FMGE 2026 answer key PDF for paper 1 and paper 2 on this page. Students must note that NBEMS does not releases FMGE answer key. FMGE 2026 Result
FMGE 2026 result for December 2025 session will be released by February 17, 2026. However, students can expect FMGE result before the aforementioned date. The results will be published on the official NBE website in a PDF file. Details such as roll number, scores, and result status of all the applicants who appeared in the exam will be mentioned. The FMGE cutoff is released once the FMGE results are released. Once the FMGE cutoff is out, those who beat the cutoff list will be called for the counselling process. Students must score a minimum of 150 out of 300 to be able to beat the cutoff.

The FMGE exam has 300 MCQs worth 300 marks. Each correct answer gives 1 mark, and there is no negative marking. The exam is divided into two sections, Part A and Part B; each section is of 2 and a half hours. To pass, one must score 150 out of 300.

There is currently no limit on total number of attempts for FMGE. You can appear for as many sessions as needed. Very soon, National Exit Test (NExT) will replace FMGE exam. It may introduce new regulations regarding attempt limits once implemented. As of now, no limit for re-attempts.

Candidates must bring the following documents to the test center to be allowed entry. Digital copies on mobile phones are strictly not accepted.
- Printed Admit Card: A clear printout of FMGE 2025-26 admit card (black and white is acceptable) with a recent passport-sized photograph pasted in the design
