GPAT 2025 or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2025, was scheduled to take place on May 25, 2025. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has all the rights reserved to organise and manage the GPAT 2025 exam and has set several exam day guidelines as well to address the students in order to avoid any confusion. Earlier, authorities released the GPAT admit card 2025 on May 21, 2025, in online mode.

NBEMS has issued a specific guideline regarding the exam that mentions the things which a candidate can carry inside the exam centre or not. Before moving to the GPAT 2025 exam day guidelines in detail, it is important to understand the GPAT 2025 exam pattern. The exam pattern is also set by the NBEMS, which includes vital information such as the duration of the exam type of questions and the marking scheme.

GPAT 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

National Board Of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has set several rules and regulations which are required to be followed by the students on the exam day. NBEMS has specified in detail about everything, like what things students can bring and what’s prohibited in the exam hall, what stationery and documents the students are allowed to bring on the exam day and several other important instructions.

Students are required to keep a check on the following things before appearing for the GPAT 2025 exam

Students are required to check all the details printed on the admit card thoroughly to avoid any confusion. The admit card has the following details printed on it:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Centre address
  • Reporting time at the exam centre
  • Centre gate closing time
  • Exam date
  • Test and shift timing

Other tips and instructions students are required to follow:

  • Students are advised to get familiar with the exact location of the exam centre by visiting the same a day before the exam or by leaving early on the exam day.
  • Students should try to reach the exam venue at the reporting time mentioned in the GPAT 2025 Admit Card. Students failing to reach the exam centre on time will not be allowed to enter the exam hall. NBEMS has also asked the officials to conduct a pre-examination check before the commencement of the examination; hence, the students should try to reach the centre on time.
  • If you report beyond the gate closing time of the centre, you will not be allowed to enter the Test venue. Instructions have been issued for strict compliance. Several pre-examination formalities need to be completed, and therefore, please arrive on time.
  • Students should carry the following belongings they are required to bring to the centre on the day of the exam:
    • GPAT 2025 Admit Card downloaded from the official NBEMS website (a clear, visible colour printout on an A4-size sheet).
    • One passport-size photograph (same as uploaded with the Online Application Form) to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Centre.
    • A valid photo ID proof in original (PAN card/ driving license/ voter ID/passport/ aadhaar card (With photograph)/E- aadhaar/ration card/ bank passbook with Photograph).
    • ID cards issued by Schools/ colleges/ universities/ coaching centres, Aadhar enrollment receipt without Aadhar number and photocopies or Images stored in mobile phones, etc., will NOT be accepted (Note: No candidate was allowed to enter the exam centre without identity verification).
    • A person with disability (PwD) certificate issued by the competent authority, if claiming the relaxation under the PwD category. PwD students are required to report early at the centre so that arrangements can be made on time.

No, candidates are not allowed to carry a calculator or any other electronic gadget to the GPAT exam centre. There is a complete list of things to do and avoid at the GPAT exam centre which candidates are advised to read carefully. Things prohibited at the GPAT test center includes: Any paper having textual material on it such as log tables or any written/printed content, Smartwatches, Mobile Phones or any other electronic devices, slide rules etc. Other rules will be mentioned on the GPAT admit card.

The GPAT exam dates were announced by the exam-conducting authority National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on the official notification. According to it, GPAT 2026 exam was conducted on March 7, 2026

Q:   What is the reporting time of the GPAT test centre?

The reporting time of the GPAT test center varies on year-on-year basis. As the exam will be conducted in two shifts, first one in the morning session from 9 am to 12 noon and the second from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, therefore, the reporting time will be mentioned on the GPAT admit card. It is mandatory for the candidates to be present at the test centre at the reporting time mentioned on their admit card.

Things Prohibited at the Exam Centre:

  • Any instrument/geometry/pencil box
  • Handbag
  • Purse
  • Any kind of paper/stationery/textual material (printed or written material)
  • Eatables and water (loose or packed)
  • Mobile phone/earphone/microphone/pager
  • Smartwatch/calculator/ docu-pen/ slide rule/log tables/camera/tape recorder
  • Any metallic item or electronic gadget

Note: There was no provision at the centre to keep the candidate’s valuables.

Students will receive a pen/pencil and blank sheets for rough work at the exam hall. The students are required to submit the rough sheets after finishing the exam to the invigilator with their name and roll number at the top, along with the admit card.

Students are required to provide all the required details in the attendance sheet in clear writing, provide their left-hand thumb impression along with their signature and paste the passport-size photograph on the space provided. The candidate should ensure that their left-hand thumb impression is smudge-free.

Students must follow all rules during the exam. They should not do any unfair activity. If a student is caught doing anything wrong, the exam will be cancelled without any warning. No student should use unfair methods in the exam. If someone tries to send another person in their place, their exam will be cancelled immediately without any notice.

Students must also listen carefully to the instructions given by the invigilator before the exam starts. For this reason, students should reach the exam centre early. This will help them have a smooth and fair exam.

It is mandatory to fill the GPAT application form for admission to MPharm courses. The NBEMS invites online applications for the GPAT examination. Candidates who register online are eligible to take the exam.
