IIT Bombay Highlights 2026

Established in 1958, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is also known as IIT Bombay or IIT Mumbai. IIT Bombay has been declared a 'Deemed University' and is autonomous. IITB is the first public college to have laid its foundation stone with assistance from UNESCO. The institute has also been declared an Institute of National Importance by the Parliament of India in 1961.
