TS PGECET 2026 Exam Pattern

TS PGECET 2026 will be conducted online i.e., as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The question paper will consist of 120 questions, each with four options, and candidates must choose the correct one. The exam will last 2 hours or 120 minutes only.

Q:   Which type of questions are asked in TS PGECET exam?

Multiple Choice questions are asked in the exam. The examination is conducted for a duration of 120 minutes. There will be a total of 120 questions asked in the exam. For every correct answer, one mark will be awarded. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Their cutoff score in TS PGECET is 120 marks. However, there is no cutoff score for reversed category students.
Q:   Is TS PEGECET tougher than GATE?

The TS PGECET exam is considered to be easier than GATE exam. The GATE, otherwise known as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is more concept-based and is competitive in nature. On the other hand, the TS PGECET is a state-level exam is the competition is low.

TS PGECET Exam Pattern 2026: Marking Scheme

Candidates appearing for the exam must know about the TS PGECET exam pattern 2026. As per the marking scheme, each correct response, one mark is awarded. The total marks of the question paper is 120. There is no negative marking for incorrect responses. Candidates have to secure TS PGECET 2026 minimum qualifying mark to eligible for counselling, which is 30 marks. However, for SC/ST there is no minimum marks.

TS PGECET, also known as the Telengana Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test is a post-graduate state-level entrance test conducted to offer admissions to M.Tech, M.Pharm, M.E, and M.Arch courses. The exam is conducted by the JNTU on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). The TS PGECET exam is a computer-based test consisting of MCQs based on subject-specific topics.

The qualifying percentage of marks for the TS PGECET-2025 is 25% of the maximum marks (I. e. 30 marks). However, for candidates belonging to SC / ST, there is no minimum qualifying prescribed.
