Pondicherry University Signs MoU with Texas State University for Advancement in Academics and Research

The collaboration between Pondicherry University and Texas State University aims to strengthen global academic linkage and the internationalisation of higher education and opens up opportunities for cross-cultural learning and collaborative research between the universities.
Pondicherry University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Texas State University to foster international academic and research collaboration. The collaboration between both universities aims to promote dual degree programmes, faculty and student exchange, and to co-host academic events across various disciplines.
Prof K. Tharanikkarasu, the Director of Studies, Pondicherry University, highlighted the importance of the alliance between both universities. He stated that the university's aspiration will align with the university's aspiration to strengthen global academic collaboration.
Representing Texas State University, the Dean, Prof. Sanjay Ramachander, highlighted their delight with the collaboration, describing it as a 'Red Letter Day' and praised Pondicherry University for their academic vision and values.
Faculty and representatives from both universities attended the ceremony to sign the MoU. This engagement is a critical step in expanding academic cooperation between India and the United States, laying the groundwork for a thriving, knowledge-driven alliance.
Prof. S. Victor Anandkumar, Dean (International Relations), Pondicherry University, spoke about the university's growing global reach, as well as the similarities and potential synergies with TSU, which is a public university with a large number of first-generation learners among its students. He emphasized that this collaboration would provide exposure to worldwide best practices and keep PU competitive in the shifting global education scene, along with offering an equitable learning opportunity to students from both universities.
