The NEET PG SC hearing was previously scheduled for April 8. However, the matter was not taken up by the SC Bench due to unforeseen circumstances.

NEET PG SC Hearing

The long pending petion on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET-PG) is likely to be taken up today i.e. April 22, 2025. The SC hearing on NEET PG 2024 transparency case, which was earlier scheduled to be heard on April 8, was not taken up by the court due to an unforeseen event. Originally, the plea was scheduled for September last year, but has been postponed over eight times by now for various reasons, including non-presence of Government officials, the absence of NBE officials on the hearing date and other reasons.

NEET PG SC Hearing: Students Demand Answer Key

The petition asking for NEET PG 2024 transparency was submitted by 19 NEET PG students who expressed concerns about sudden changes in the examination schedule just a few days before the NEET PG exam date.  The petitioners also expressed concerns regarding the transparency of the results procedure.  They also demanded that the NBE reveal the candidates' question papers, answer keys, and response sheets for the examination.

Considering the last-minute changes as 'Unacceptable', the Apex Court bench comprising CJI CY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra had issued notices to the NBE and Union Government and asked them to submit their clarifications. However, in the later hearing dated September 30, the petition was postponed as no one appeared on behalf of the Central Government.

Dissatisfaction with NEET PG Exam in Two Shifts

NEET-PG applicants claimed in their petition to the Supreme Court that the implementation of NEET PG in two shifts, as well as the normalisation process three days before the exam, had an adverse effect on the students.

Besides, at present, students across the country are demanding NEET PG 2025 to be held in a single shift, as examination in multiple shifts introduces variability in the level of difficulty and subject-wise question distribution.
