Q: Can I do M.Tech at IISc without GATE?

No, candidate who are looking for admission at IISC Bangalore need to have a valid GATE score. However, 70% GATE score + 30% performance in written test (100% GATE based for Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Materials Engg.) + COAP counselling will be accepted. Apart from this, students might face some problems while downloading the GATE hall ticket 2024. The problem might be due to slow internet connectivity or a heavy load on the server. In such situations, candidates should try downloading the admit card after a short duration. In case any candidate forgets their application ID/Enrollment ID or password, they can reset it. In case a candidate has forgotten their password, they can reset it from the GOAPS portal.

IISc Bangalore Admission Process and Important Dates 2026

IISC Bangalore offers different programmes, including undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, PG Diplomas, and Certificate courses. All the programmes are available in full-time mode. To course in IISc Bangalore at the PG level students can also apply through the university page. IISC Bangalore Admission to postgraduate and PG Diploma courses is facilitated through IIT JAM, an online Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by an online counselling round for final selection. Merit-based admission is also applicable to courses such as BA, BSc, and BBA at IISC Bangalore.

IISC Bangalore also accepts various state and national-level exams for various Indian Institute of Science IISC Bangalore course admissions. The university accepts the scores of JEE Main for admission to its BE/ BTech courses. CAT and XAT scores are also accepted by the university for admission to its MBA programme.

IISc Bangalore has UG, PG, PhD, and Integrated PhD programmes across fields such as Science & Technology, Design, and Management. The BSc programme spans four years, while the duration of all the PG programmes is two years each.
