APEdCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria Revised: B.E./B.Tech Graduates Eligible to Apply

With this update, candidates from technical backgrounds will be encouraged to take up teaching roles. Currently, the APEdCET registrations for the 2025 session are going on, and interested B.E./B. Tech graduates can fill out the application form in online mode by visiting the official website.

APEdCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria Revised: B.E./B.Tech Graduates Eligible to Apply

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has revised the eligibility criteria for APEdCET 2025. As per the new update, candidates holding a B.E. or B. Tech degree can also apply for the APEdCET exam. Earlier, only candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce could apply. 

Now, engineering graduates with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/BC/PWD candidates) can apply for the APEdCET. This move allows engineering graduates to explore the teaching field while also aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes interdisciplinary learning and creating a broader pool of educators from all skill sets. 

As of now, the APEdCET 2025 registration window is open, and interested B.E./B. Tech degree holders can visit the official website - cets.apsche.ap.gov.in/EDCET to apply. 

About the APEdCET exam

The Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (APEdCET) is an annual BEd entrance exam conducted to shortlist candidates for the BEd course from participating colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Those students who qualify in the exam will be allotted a college to pursue their B.Ed course. The test will be conducted on June 5, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM in computer-based online mode.
