RRB NTPC Eligibility 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) prescribe RRB NTPC eligibility criteria separately for Graduate & Undergraduate posts. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam are required to fulfill the eligibility in terms of age, educational qualification & medical standards. RRB NTPC Eligibility 2026: Are to planning to appear for RRB NTPC? If yes, it is necessary to fulfill the eligibility. Railway NTPC Eligibility is prescribed by the examination authority separately for Graduate and Undergraduate posts. Candidates need to fulfill the eligibiliy in terms of age, qualification and medical standards. 

The age limit for Graduate posts is 18 to 36 years, whereas it is 18 to 33 years for Undergraduate posts. RRB NTPC educational qualification for Graduate posts is a Graduation. The educational qualification for Undergraduate posts is Class 12 pass. Candidates must be medically fit for the RRB NTPC exam to carry on their duties and responsibilities properly.

RRB NTPC Eligibility 2026

RRB NTPC exam is conducted to select candidates for various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) positions in the Indian Railways’ Zonal Railways and Production Units. The posts include Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice, and Station Master. Candidates must fulfil RRB NTPC eligibility laid down in terms of age limit, educational qualification and medical standards.

RRB NTPC Eligibility 2026: Nationality

Candidates applying for RRB NTPC must be:

  • An Indian citizen
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with to permanently settle in India.

RRB NTPC Age Limit 2026

RRB NTPC test consists of two levels-graduate and undergraduate (Class 12). In RRB NTPC, there is an upper and lower age limit set by the RRBs.  The post-wise age criteria is given below.

Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to different categories. RRB NTPC age relaxation for Graduate and Undergraduate posts is given below.

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed medical standards for the posts they are applying. Candidates must be medically fit to carry on their duties and responsibilities for the applied post. Before final appointment, the medical fitness of candidates will be checked by the Railway Administration. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff. RRB NTPC Typing Proficiency

Candidates must also have typing proficiency as per RRB NTPC eligibility. This is required for the positions such as Junior Clerk Cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Accounts Clerk Cum Typist, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk Cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist, and Station Master. Candidates are required to undergo typing test in the second round of selection. 

  • The test is conducted in Hindi, and both Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts is available for typing on a Personal Computer
  • Candidates with certain permanent disabilities such as visual impairments (Blindness/Low Vision), Cerebral Palsy, and Locomotor Disability (with not less than 40% permanent disability) are exempted from the Typing Skill Test. Such candidates must upload a scanned copy of the Typing Skill Test Exemption Certificate issued by the Competent Medical Board on the respective RRB’s website before the typing skill test
  • Merit is determined only for candidates who have qualified in the typing skill test
