The selection ratio after the tier 1 is set to 1:3 that means, three aspirants will fight for 1 seat a well as the cut off for the Tier 1 is always higher than 80 per cent every year.

Q:   Do I have to prepare separate topics for the General Engineering section in SSC JE Paper 2?
A:

For the General Engineering section in SSC JE Paper 2, topics prepared for Paper 1 are usually enough. The Staff Selection Commission also prescribes the same topics for the General Engineering section of both papers. However, candidates must keep in mind that in the General Engineering section of Paper 2, 100 objective-based questions will be asked in the examination from the specific discipline chosen by candidates.

The exam test the general awareness, power of reasoning, intelligence and engineering aptitude of the candidate. The candidates are required to qualify to get the call for the next stage.

SSC JE Paper 2 Syllabus

SSC JE is a descriptive exam and the candidates need to write conventional essay-type answers in the paper. The exam question asks the candidates about the concepts of the engineering topic. The candidates need to prepare all the topics studied in their engineering course because the Commission can ask anything from the topic and up to any depth.

SSC JE Cutoff

SSC JE is a competitive exam and no matter how good you are in your subject, the selection is made strictly based on the merit list prepared after the examination. SSC JE cutoff is released with the result itself. The candidates need to check their marks with the official answer key once it is released for the objective-type exams. The marks scored in the subjective exam are given in the SSC JE scorecard released by the Commission later.

The candidates should prepare for the exam in a planned way and in preparation, the candidates must take help from the previous year's question papers and the corresponding answer key because the official answers to the subject questions sometimes immensely help the candidates.
