CSIR NET Exam Pattern 2023

The CSIR NET Question Paper 2023 will be divided into three sections- Part A, B and C.

Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions of General Aptitude. The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions for two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

The CSIR NET Part A consists of General Aptitude questions that assess the candidates’ teaching/research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension skills, divergent thinking and general awareness.

The CSIR NET Part B and C consist of questions that are based on the subjects chosen by candidates from the following five subjects - Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.

CSIR NET Time Management Tips

Examining the exam pattern shows that the candidate has to solve 150 questions in 3 hours, and there are no time barriers for solving Tasks 1 and 2. Most candidates need more time management skills to solve these tasks.

  • Spend as much time as possible studying each day, and plan for an additional 1-2 hours of repetition.
  • Completing critical issues should be your top priority; fix them as soon as you've met them.
  •  Also, before you go to bed at night, summarize and review the topics you have been studying all day.
  • Try to cover the maximum percentage during the morning and afternoon hours, and devote your evening hours to solving problems and improving your performance.
  •  Create a suitable schedule for each session. Set sleep/rest times to help your body recover from stress.

Let's get into detail and know how time can be saved while preparing for CSIR NET Exam:

Normative References

There are countless CSIR NET references in the life sciences. What you learn first is up to you, but try to cover biochemistry, metabolism, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, and more. Read two different subjects side by side, such as biochemistry and immunology.

CSIR NET Exam Preparation Book

Most students are better off following reference books. During the short preparation period, various learning, such as the sacred dream's biology book, can be traced to dreams. This saves time and allows you to focus on essential topics.

Mock Test Series

It's essential to practice test sets available online, in books, and on the CSIR website to understand CSIR problem patterns and build confidence. After completing each topic, try practising your Multiple Choice Questions. So, while reading the topic, always practice MCQs from various sources and old CSIR papers.

Set a Deadline for Each Section

While practising Mock Test or Previous Year's papers, set a deadline for yourself for each section. As we know that in a real exam, there is a deadline to attempt each section. This practice will make your preparation section-wise a lot easier and more efficient.

Maintain Speed and Accuracy

While attempting the question paper, try to solve easier questions first in a timely manner. So that, after completing easier questions, you'll get an ample amount of time to attempt moderate or difficult questions. Starting with easy ones will also increase your confidence which is necessary while attempting the exam.

Revision is the Key

Whatever you study, revise it. Most students make this mistake during this exam. Because they keep reading new topics but don't revise old ones, the topic should be revised daily. The key to success is the daily revision and problem-solving.

Try to Utilize Every Minute of the Exam

Never leave an exam early. Try to utilize every minute of the exam. If you have some time left, start from the beginning and revise your answers whether you filled them correctly or not. Before submitting the paper, once again check properly your details and your answers.

Mock Exam

When you are ready for the exam, do a mock exam. Please review your readiness before registering for this exam. This will help you review your preparation and time management. Eat right, don't get sick, and drink plenty of water. Try to do activities such as games, videos, or other activities to avoid boredom. This will refresh your mind and help you memorize.
