The CSIR NET stands for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test. The National Eligibility Test (NET), also known as UGC NET or CBSE NET, is a test to determine eligibility for teaching positions at the university level and for awarding Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) to Indian citizens.

It aims to ensure first-year minimum standards in teaching and research. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for Assistant Professorship Only or Junior Research Fellowships and Assistant Professorships in Indian Universities and Colleges. 

If you grant UGC NET/JRF, the top 10-15% will get JRF qualification, and others will get NET qualification depending on their rank. After analysing the representations of the aspirants, the NTA will release the CSIR UGC NET final answer key for the Dec session.
