
The National Testing Agency released the CUET PG 2026 result on April 24 on its official website exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/. There are 198 participating institutions for the CUET PG 2026 exam. The CUET PG 2026 result was released online only. The National Testing Agency will not conduct the CUET PG 2026 Counselling. The candidates are advised to download their CUET PG 2026 Scorecard to know their score in each subject.
The NTA will officially inform the participating institutions about the candidates who have passed the CUET 2026 exam and also transfer the application data to the participating universities. The participating universities will start the Counselling process soon to kick-start their admissions. The participating university will release its schedule separately on its official website. The candidates will be required to apply for admission to the participating universities. In most cases, the CUET PG 2026 Counselling will be done online only.

CUET PG 2026 Counselling Process
The candidates should understand that the participating institutions will conduct their CUET PG 2026 counselling separately based on the number of applications they have received for the courses offered. Registration is the first stage for participating in the Counselling process. The students have to complete registration by providing basic details and uploading documents. Based on registration, a merit list is released. Only those students whose names will feature in the merit list will be eligible for the CUET PG counselling process.
Usually, CUET PG participating institutes conduct three rounds of counselling. The number of rounds depends on the availability of seats. The counselling process will be conducted till all seats are filled. Therefore, candidates should check the seat matrix before each round and participate as many times as possible to earn admission to their preferred university and course.
The process of the CUET PG 2026 counselling is given below.
- Registration: Candidates have to visit the university's website and register.
- Fill course choices: Next, they have to enter choices of the courses they wish to take admission to.
- Seat Allotment: The universities will release the seat allotment result based on the course preference received from candidates.
- Take final admission: If candidates are satisfied with the seat allotment, they have to complete the final admission process.

- Each university will be releasing the rank list for Counselling.
- The admission of the candidates in the participating universities of CUET PG 2026 will be based on their ranking and also on the available seats at all the participating universities.
- The first step in the CUET PG 2026 counselling process is to apply online, followed by an offline meeting.
- Interested participants must register on the website of their respective participating institution to participate in CUET PG counselling 2026.
- A candidate with a higher CUET PG 2026 cutoff will be given a higher priority than a candidate with a lower cutoff.
- Upon acceptance into a college and programme, students must pay the admission fee.
The seats for many of the courses might remain unoccupied because the candidates may take admission to an upgraded seat. For this, an additional round will be conducted, which is called CUET PG Counselling Spot Round or Spot Counselling. Those who would not be allotted a seat in the original counselling rounds can participate in the spot counselling by registering on the official websites of the CUET participating institutes. Such candidates will have to participate in the CUET spot counselling rounds by visiting the institutes and getting the documents verified by the institutes' admission officials.

Documents Required for CUET PG 2026 Counselling
Below is the list of documents that are required by the participating universities from the selected candidates to bring for the Counselling process.

The universities may ask for additional documents or certificates as proof of eligibility. The documents must be carried in original, and furnishing photocopies will not be accepted. Candidates should also ensure that the documents are valid and issued by relevant authorities.
CUET PG 2026 Passing Marks
The CUET PG exam is conducted once a year to provide admission to master's and professional degree programs in around 198 participating universities, and about 157 subjects. When the exam results are released, candidates are hopeful about their possible admission as they are informed about what a good score or the qualifying marks are for the universities they have applied to. The CUET PG Passing Marks depend on the chosen course and university. However, test takers can get some idea of the generally expected and analysis-based CUET PG passing marks listed below.
Students must note that NTA does not release the qualifying marks or pass marks for CUET PG. It generally depends on the universities.

CUET PG 2026 Merit List
The CUET PG merit list is important for candidates who are planning to pursue postgraduate admission in one of the participating central, state, private and/or other universities in India. NTA does not release a centralised merit list. The NTA will release the score cards and just provide scores to the participating universities that will then build their own CUET PG merit list 2026 from candidates' CUET PG scores and any potential admission criteria the participating universities use to identify suitable candidates. For example, subject-wise scores, category-wise reservation, etc. and there could be additional eligibility criteria.
As a result, for candidates looking to check the CUET PG merit list for a particular programme, they will need to visit the university websites they applied to. The individual universities will then outline their counselling schedule and release details of their merit lists based on the CUET PG 2026 scores across different pg programmes. The merit lists will consist of the names of candidates shortlisted for the admissions process. They have to check the website of the University or institutions they are applying to, to find out updates about admissions and their merit lists.
To view the CUET PG merit list for a specific programme, they have to visit the websites of those universities to which they have applied. Such universities would announce their counselling schedule and publish the merit lists for various postgraduate programmes based on CUET PG scores.

The counselling process for CUET PG 2026 will be held separately for different participating universities under the CUET PG 2026 Examination. Therefore, the CUET PG 2026 Counselling Rounds are not specific to any number. Depending on the availability of vacant seats at that particular university of any course, the CUET PG counselling rounds will vary.
But as per the previous year trend, candidates can expect at least two rounds of counselling for any course at one of the participating universities.
After the CUET PG 2026 result declaration, the Participating Universities will separately release their merit list or shorlisted candidate's list who are selected for participating in the counselling process for that college. Candidates will then have to register and pay the requiste or asked registration fee for admission and visit the institution's campus with the list of documents. Some of the universities or institutes may conduct interviews for some specific courses.
The seats for many of the courses might get vacant because the candidates got upgraded to other courses or might leave the seat, which causes the conduction of one more round, which is called CUET PG Spot Round/ Spot Counselling/ Spot Round.
