CUET PG 2025 Hindi Exam Structure
CUET PG exam pattern 2025 is anticipated to be the same as the previous year. NTA has changed the CUET PG exam pattern for the 2024-2025 academic session. Part A or the general section was removed where questions from general reasoning/ aptitude were asked. The domain-specific questions will now be there to test the candidate's analytical and cognitive approach towards the applied course in the CUET PG 2025 examination.
The CUET PG 2025 exam pattern has been amended for the academic session 2025-2026. The exam duration has been reduced to 90 minutes from 105 minutes for all question papers.
CUET PG exam pattern depicts the exam format in which candidates will get to know about the types of questions asked in the CUET PG 2025 examination. Also candidates will get to know about the CUET PG negative marking scheme, time duration provided by the exam officials to attend the CUET PG exam.
CUET PG 2025 exam pattern consist of the following parts:
- Type of Questions- Multiple Choice Questions.
- Exam Duration- 90 Minutes
- Total Marks- 300 marks
- Marking Scheme
NTA, National Testing Agency has released a public notice mentioning the recommendations received by the expert committee for the CUET PG 2025 examination. The exam officials have proposed the change in the exam duration, pattern, and many more.
The General Paper will be redesigned by the exam experts to cater to skill-based and certain professions based on UG knowledge acquired by the candidates so that the CUET PG 2025 participating universities can use it for programmes in those areas.
The CUET PG negative marking scheme aims to discourage random guessing and encourage thoughtful consideration of answers. Here's a breakdown of its potential advantages:
- Reduced Guesswork: By deducting marks for incorrect answers, candidates are less likely to randomly guess, promoting a more accurate assessment of their knowledge.
- Focus on Accuracy: The scheme incentivizes candidates to focus on answering questions they are confident about, rather than attempting all questions regardless of their understanding.
- Fairer Competition: Negative marking can create a more level playing field by reducing the impact of lucky guesses and emphasizing genuine understanding of the subject matter.
- Strategic Decision-Making: It encourages candidates to develop strategic test-taking skills, such as identifying and skipping questions they are unsure about.
The CUET PG negative marking scheme, while aiming to reduce guesswork and promote accuracy, also has some potential disadvantages:
- Increased Exam Anxiety: The fear of losing marks for incorrect answers can significantly increase exam anxiety among candidates, potentially hindering their performance.
- Disadvantage for Less Confident Candidates: Candidates who are less confident or prone to making minor errors may be disproportionately penalized, even if they have a good overall understanding of the subject matter.
- Focus on Avoiding Mistakes: The emphasis on avoiding negative marks can shift the focus from demonstrating knowledge to simply minimizing errors, potentially discouraging deeper learning and critical thinking.
- Unfairness in Certain Situations: In some cases, negative marking may be perceived as unfair, such as when candidates are faced with ambiguous questions or unexpected twists in the exam format.
NTA has implemented some minor changes in the CUTE PG 2025 exam pattern. Now the exam duration of the CUET PG 2-25 exam will be 90 minutes instead of 105. There will be 75 MCQ questions asked from the candidates domain knowledge. The exam will be conducted in online/CBT mode in a bilingual medium.
There will also be a negative marking scheme in the CUET PG 2025 examination. 4 marks will be awarded for the correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer marked.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced any changes to the CUET PG exam pattern. Therefore, it is likely that there will be no sectional time limit in CUET PG 2025. This means that candidates will have two hours to complete the entire exam, regardless of the section they are working on.
However, it is important to note that the NTA has the right to change the exam pattern at any time. Therefore, candidates are advised to check the official NTA website regularly for the latest updates.
In the meantime, candidates can focus on preparing for the exam by following the syllabus and practicing with sample questions. It is also a good idea to develop a time management strategy for the exam. This will help candidates to ensure that they have enough time to complete each section of the exam.
