For the academic session 2024-2025, a total of 1933 seats were offered through IISER entrance exam at various IISERs, IISc Banglore and IIT Madras. IISER 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Before filling out the IAT 2026 application form, candidates are advised to check the IISER 2026 eligibility criteria that one needs to satisfy in order to appear for the examination:
- An applicant must be an Indian citizen or PIO or OCI in order to apply for the IISER aptitude test 2026. Candidates who are NOT Indian nationals or PIO or OCI can apply for admission only through the JEE (Advanced) channel.
- Candidates should have passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) exam with science stream in 2024 or 2026 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India CBSE.
- Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam. Candidates belonging to other categories should have scored a minimum of 60 per cent marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam.
IISER Entrance Exam 2026 Application Form
IISER application form 2026 will start in the second week of March 2026. Interested applicants will be able to fill out the IAT 2026 registration form online by visiting the official website. Candidates will be required to register first in order to fill out the application form. After receiving the IISER 2024 registration credentials via email and SMS, they have to log in again and fill up the IISER application form with the rest of the personal, and academic details, exam city preference, course preference and document upload. After all details on the IISER application form are filled out, candidates need to pay the application fee. Candidates could make the payment of the IISER 2026 application fee online (through credit/ debit card/net banking) mode.

IISER Entrance Exam 2026 Application Fee
- INR 2,000/- for candidates applying under the General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories.
- INR 1,000/- for candidates applying under persons with disabilities, persons registered as Kashmiri migrants and SC/ST category.
- USD 100 for foreign nationals.

IAT 2026 Exam Pattern
IISER Entrance Exam 2026 pattern depicts the types of questions that will be asked in the IAT 2026 examination. The exam officials will test the domain knowledge of the candidates in the form of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for the duration of three hours. Candidates will be awarded +4 marks for correct answers marked by the candidates in the examination. For every wrong answer marked -1 marks will be deducted by the exam officials. IISER Entrance Exam 2026 Syllabus
The IISER 2026 syllabus will be specified by the exam officials when they release the official IAT 2026 notification. IISER Entrance Exam 2026 Admit Card
The IAT 2026 admit card will be released in the first week of June 2026, tentatively. Candidates will be able to download the IISER entrance exam 2026 admit card by visiting the official website and logging in to their registered account with the help of login credentials ie., username and password. The IAT 2026 admit card is a mandatory document that must be carried to the exam centre, and preserved till the admission process is complete. IISER Aptitude Test 2026 admit card will carry information like IAT 2026 Shift Timings, candidate's name, exam centre details and many more.

The candidate will have to follow the below-mentioned steps on how to download the IISER Entrance Exam admit card which is as follows:
Step 1: The candidate will have to first visit the official website of IISER Admissions
Step 2: Once the candidate is on the homepage of the official website of IISER Admissions, the candidate will have to search for the tab ‘IISER Admit Card’.
Step 3: Click on the link and the candidate will be directed to a new page on the website.
Step 4: Enter the credentials as required such as Login ID and Password.
