IISER 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the IAT 2026 application form, candidates are advised to check the IISER 2026 eligibility criteria that one needs to satisfy in order to appear for the examination:

An applicant must be an Indian citizen or PIO or OCI in order to apply for the IISER aptitude test 2026. Candidates who are NOT Indian nationals or PIO or OCI can apply for admission only through the JEE (Advanced) channel.
Candidates should have passed the Class 12 (or equivalent) exam with science stream in 2024 or 2026 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India CBSE.
Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam. Candidates belonging to other categories should have scored a minimum of 60 per cent marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 (or equivalent) exam.

IISER Entrance Exam 2026 Application Form

The authority has commenced the registration for IISER entrance exam 2026 on March 5, 2026. IAT application form 2026 link is updated on the website, iiseradmission.in. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply online. The application process is registration, form filling, and payment of the application fee. The authority will open a form correction window after the conclusion of the exam.

Candidates can check the IAT application fee 2026 here. The application fee will be accepted online through net banking / credit card / debit card.

INR 2,000/- for candidates applying under the General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories.
INR 1,000/- for candidates applying under persons with disabilities, persons registered as Kashmiri migrants and SC/ST category.
USD 100 for foreign nationals.

IAT 2026 Exam Pattern

IISER Entrance Exam 2026 pattern depicts the types of questions that will be asked in the IAT 2026 examination. The exam officials will test the domain knowledge of the candidates in the form of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for the duration of three hours. Candidates will be awarded +4 marks for correct answers marked by the candidates in the exam. For every wrong answer marked, -1 mark will be deducted by the exam officials. IISER Entrance Exam 2026 Syllabus

The IISER 2026 syllabus is available online on the official website. In the IAT 2026 examination, the exam officials will test the domain knowledge of candidates from topics present in the syllabus of Class 11 and 12 books. IISER Entrance Exam 2026 Admit Card

The IAT 2026 admit card will be released on May 24, 2026. Candidates will be able to download the IISER entrance exam 2026 admit card by visiting the official website and logging in to their registered account with the help of login credentials ie., username and password. The IAT 2026 admit card is a mandatory document that must be carried to the exam centre, and preserved till the admission process is complete. About BS-MS Dual Degree Programme

For the undergraduate programs, IISERs offer admission to courses leading to BS-MS (Dual Degree) and BS Degree (only at IISER Bhopal) Programs. All admissions are only through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT).
