Common Mistake to Avoid in PTET 2026
Panic revision: while it is highly recommended to do last minute revision, you should know what to revise and what not to. Do not overburden your mind by trying to revise every topic. So, revise only the important topics from which maximum questions are asked, like GK or PTET Mental Ability, and the topics that are your strong area. Do not keep revising till late hours. Give yourself good night sleep a night before the exam.
Doubting yourself: Some candidates, despite covering every aspect of the syllabus, doubt themselves. They think they could have prepared better. It’s okay to feel so but don’t think that you haven’t done enough until you appear for the exam. Pre-exam nervousness is highly capable of spoiling performance.

Last-minute scramble: If you have missed any PTET topic, forget about it now. This is not the time to study a new topic and mess up your mind. Use the last few days to simply revise what you’ve studied so far. It is very unlikely that you have not prepared important topics already.
Reaching PTET exam centre late: Candidates are supposed to report to the test centre well before the exam commences. Reach your examination centre on time for a smooth identification and verification process to avoid any last-minute hassle.

Not carrying requisite documents: Carry a clear printout of the PTET admit card 2026 and a valid photo ID card issued by Government of India. You can carry a PAN card, a Voter ID card, a passport, or a driving license. PwD candidates should carry relevant documents that they will need to present at the test centre.
Not following the dress code: Candidates are advised to wear simple clothes and slippers or low-heeled shoes. Avoid wearing outfits with big buttons, elaborate embroidery, or metal items. Accessories, goggles, and caps will not be allowed inside the examination hall.

Rushing through PTET questions: 180 minutes goes by quickly when dealing with 200 questions. So choose questions carefully and read them slowly. If you rush through them, you may miss a key point in sections like Teaching Attitude or Mental Ability and end up choosing incorrect option for it.
Bad time management: PTET is a 3-hour exam in which you will need to use every minute judiciously. Many candidates face challenges in the exam as they don’t have a time management plan. This is the most common mistake in PTET. Don’t spend too much time on any single question. If you can’t choose the answer soon, move on to next. You can come back to the same question later, if time permits.
