    5thumbs up
    A:

For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme's eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following points:

    • Course-Specific merit
    • Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
    • Seat Intake
    • Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by CSAS or University of Delhi
Q:   Can I get admission in Delhi University without CUET?
    4thumbs up
    A:

CUET UG is compulsory for admission in the affiliated colleges of University of Delhi for UG courses. Delhi University introduced admissions through CUET scores  for candidates who seek admission.

Candidates will not be granted admission on the basis of merit of Class 12 There are some percentage criteria required to appear for the CUET exam for Class 12 candidates which is given below:

    • Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor's degree programmes in the central, state, private or deemed universities.
    • For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET exam. For BTch programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Morever, candidates who wish to apply for Delhi University must have a valid score in CUET. Undergraduate courses including BCom, BTech, BA, BSc and more are offered by the affiliated colleges.

Q:   What is DU CUET UG Counselling process?
    A:

Before the CUET counselling process for DU will even begin, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:

Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases.

Step 2: Submit College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard.

Step 3: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists for all categories.

    • The "freeze" option in seat allocation for CSAS (DU) is to be selected by the students to confirm their admission choice to the allocated college and course at DU.
    • If candidates are happy with the assigned college and course, they can freeze the request through their dashboard.
    • Once they select this option, they will not be considered for "upgradation" of choice in further rounds of CSAS.
    • Candidates must only select this option only if they are satisfied with the allocated seat and want to take admission to this course & college
    • If they do not choose to upgrade or freeze your admission, their current status will be maintained.

Step 4: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.

Step 5: Once the DU-affiliated college accords the approval, candidates will have to pay the 'Admission Fee' to confirm their seat.

On the basis of the availability of seats due to rejections, cancellations, and withdrawals, DU may announce multiple allocation rounds. The University of Delhi will display the vacant seats on its admission website (admission.uod.ac.in) before every allocation round.

Q:   What is the last date for DU admission 2026?
    3thumbs up
    A:

Delhi University admission 2026 is open now. The last date to apply for DU PG courses is Jun 7, 2026. For the UG courses, students have to apply through CSAS counselling after CUET results are declared. The last date is tentatively scheduled for July 2026.

Q:   Can I get admission in DU without CUET?
    A:

Yes, it is possible to get in DU without CUET. However, this is not applicable for traditional regular UG courses. For most programmes, the university asks for CUET UG or CUET PG score. For courses, such as MBA and Law programmes, the university also considers other exams. Students can also join DU SOL, NCWEB using Class 12 marks and skipping CUET.

Q:   Can I take direct admission in Delhi University?
    A:

No, candidates cannot take direct admission in Delhi University. The university offers admission into UG and PG programmes based on scores achieved in CUET (Common University Entrance Test) conducted by NTA. Candidates need to register and counsel through the university's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal.

Q:   Do I need 60% in Class 12 to get admission in DU?
    A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

The campus is good, and I am satisfied with the course and teachers.
Placements: Students need to secure 45-55% in their graduation or post-graduation to be eligible for this course. The average salary package offered ranges from 3.5 LPA - 4 LPA. Many reputed schools like Cambridge, DAV Public School came for the placements drive. Every student has to go through internships despite their percentage. Mainly teacher's roles are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: The campus has a Wi-Fi facility. The library is spacious and well-stocked with books also it has computer-generated automated systems through which one can find particular books in their section by putting the book's name in the computer system. Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors and green or whiteboards. Laboratories are well-equipped with the instruments and equipment needed. Hostels facility is also good. It also has Wi-Fi and well-cooked food is served.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and help out students at every stage of confusion. Most of the teachers are M.Ed. or Ph.D. The curriculum of the course is very comprehensive as it ensures to engage the student at every stage. It has various practicals, webinars, seminars that occur throughout the course. Semester exams are not that difficult if the students have studied it ranges from easy to moderate.
Other: I opted for this course as no other college offers B.Ed in home science and this college is best for home science courses. Lessening the workload will improve the course. Fest occurs in March and also DJ evening occurs in October. Other events like Diwali mela, and youth mela are also held. Students can enroll themselves in different societies like dance, music, fine arts, sports, and NCC.
