Q:   Do I need 60% in Class 12 to get admission in DU?
A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

Q:   Can I get admission in Delhi University without CUET?
A:

CUET UG is compulsory for admission in the affiliated colleges of University of Delhi for UG courses. Delhi University introduced admissions through CUET scores in 2024 for candidates who seek admission. Candidates will not be granted admission on the basis of merit of class 12th. However, there are some specific percentage criteria needed to appear for the CUET exam for class 12th candidates which is given below:

  • Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor’s degree programmes in the central, state, private or deemed universities.
  • For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET 2025. For BTch programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Morever, candidates who wish to apply for Delhi University must have a valid score in CUET. Undergraduate courses including BCom, BTech, BA, BSc and more are offered by the affiliated colleges. Q:   How will I be allocated a seat at DU via the CSAS allocation (CUET UG counselling process)?
3thumbs up
A:

For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme specific eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following
criteria:

  • Program-Specific merit
  • Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
  • Availability of seats
  • Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by (CSAS (UG)- 2025) or University of Delhi

Overall, our college is fantastic.
Placements: The highest salary package offered here was 29 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 4.5 LPA. Some students got placed through a job fair organised by our college. Companies visit here to offer placements with consulting and commerce-related roles. Placements for this course are better than any other course. Top recruiting companies for this course are Kronos, Sharekhan, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college boasts of a red brick magnificent building and overall atmosphere. It has a high tech library, highly furnished labs, but there is no much good Wi-Fi facility. The canteen was good and provided many dishes and fresh dishes. The food served in the canteen is average.
Faculty: The course curriculum was designed in such a way to make students understand it easier to get ready for the industry. Teachers here were highly qualified with excellent knowledge level. They conduct every lecture seriously and tutorials also. Attendance is very strict in our college, and students have to maintain attendance. Teachers work hard for students, and they also try to make classes interactive.
Other: Many competitions are organised by our college in every 1-2 months.
