My opinion on my college.
Placements: Almost 30% of students got placed in our college. The highest package is approximately 3.50 LPA. The top recruiting companies are many companies such as many EdTech companies. The top roles offered in my course could be a senior geologist working in government or private institutions.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for our courses are very nice. We have Wi-Fi network available on our whole campus. In our department, classrooms are well-established and equipped with modern technology. The quality of our hostel is very nice.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very supportive and also they are very helpful and they are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very much relevant. Semester exams are not that difficult if you have studied well then you can score good marks.
Other: I choose this course because I found it very much interesting.

Satisfied with course, faculty members, and placements. Infrastructure of university is fantastic.
Placements: 80% of students got placed after master's program because in terms of this particular course the graduation degree you can grab a job for an initial Rs. 25,000 but it will exceed up to 1 Lakhs. In India after master's there are more opportunities, the average package is 5 LPA-6 LPA. There are many top recruiting companies in which students of this department have grabbed jobs like ONGC, Indian Oil, and BHEL. Hardly 4-5 students have got internships, field geologists, mining geologists, and hydrogeologists are some top-notch roles offered.
Infrastructure: High-speed Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Labs are well-equipped but the issue I face is the infrastructure it lacks. Classrooms are old and lacking essential features like AC and cooler. Library is fantastic one of the best libraries in Asia. I don't live in the hostel so I can't say, the quality of food in mess and canteen is okay not that much outstanding. Medical facilities are available for students 24/7. There are separate sports and games communities with their coaches.
Faculty: The teaching faculty is qualified and knowledgeable, sometimes they are helpful while some of them are not. The teaching quality is average. Course is based on the latest four-year program and it is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Semester are 4 months and it is difficult for us to clear the paper. Pass percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to go in field-type jobs rather than sitting in a particular place. The best thing about this course is you have multiple career options as a bio student. I can go further in some technical options like M.Tech in geology in the future. I think semester exams should be 6 months so that students can enjoy studying the course. There is a fest conducted. Campus crowd and network are so strong. Scholarships are provided for needy students, and students can get enrolled in extracurricular activities in CEC (a club).

The course is good but the faculty does not provide placements to the students.
Placements: Although everyone gets campus placement in this university, only a few students who get top rank get a good package. An internship is given to everyone, whether they pass from the first division or not, and if we talk about the department of geology, then only GSI is released from our department, and there is no campus placement only in our department. But it is easy to get a job in the private sector with the name of Aligarh Muslim University, but the package seems very less. In the beginning, the package costs from 3 lakh to 5 lakh. The overall course is good but placement has to be taken out of campus in this course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure building is well built, which is the best of all the departments in Aligarh Muslim University, and the hostels—some buildings are good and some are old. They are good for aesthetic vibes but not that good for living; the hostel food is without taste, which is the case with all the government university hostels.
Faculty: All the teachers are well qualified and they leave no stone unturned in teaching. They also remain supportive with the students and help in getting the students' projects and papers published, which is very good for the academics of the students. Overall, the subjects are good. But there is no campus placement so students have to go out of campus placement to find it and they do not get a good package either.
Other: The best thing about this course is that it is not taught much in India and there would hardly be 10 departments in India or even less than that.

Our university has really good infrastructure with greenery and very supportive facilities.
Placements: I think very few students got placed from any disciplinary course at our university. Our university's TPO is reaching out to average companies, which has resulted in many students not applying for jobs through the TPO. This needs improvement.
Infrastructure: Our university provides Wi-Fi for every student and offers better beds, study tables, good quality chairs, and cupboards for the students. Every hall has a beautiful mosque for prayer and a dining hall with low charges for good quality food, which includes three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Every residential hall has parks and grounds for playing sports. Our university accommodates many students in the hostels due to its capacity, but we need more hostels because of the increasing student population. Many students receive hostel facilities only after one year or more.
Faculty: All the teachers are well-qualified and very supportive of the students. They are knowledgeable in their fields. We have a great professor in our department named Erfan Mondal, who is a prominent researcher in his field and received a national award for his work in Bundelkhand. Our teachers encourage students to study independently and guide us in clearing our exams. Semesters are not difficult; if you study for 2-3 hours daily, you will achieve good marks.

Student Review of Department of Geology.
Placements: The percentage varies based on demand because the demand in the field of geology was less 7-8 years ago, but now the demand is high in this field due to Electronic vehicles and all. Some of the companies that came here for recruitment are Oil and Gas Corporation, Indian Oil, and all. The average package goes up to 4-5 Lacs, and the highest is about 20-25 Lacs. If I see last year's data from my batch, I got to know that around 50-60% of students easily grab internship opportunities from companies like Oil and Gas Corporation. The top roles offered in this are usually engineering geologist. It may vary.
Infrastructure: I am a day scholar here, so I am not familiar with the hostel facility at all, but yes, the hostels are quite good. The labs are good and loaded with a number of facilities. High-speed Wi-Fi is available across the whole campus area. The canteen is cheap, and the students are highly reliant on canteen food due to a complex timetable.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent, and there is no lag in class unless there are some serious concerns. The curriculum is good, but the semester is short. The semester should be of six months, which is shortened to four months. The pass percentage is 40%.

Great labs and faculty in AMU Geology Department.
Placements: AMU's B.Sc. Hons usually have around 70 to 75% placements. The highest package is 6–8 LPA, the lowest is 3–4 LPA, and the average is 4-5 LPA. Recruiters are ISRO, Google, environmental firms in WWF, Geographic Information Systems, and research institutes. Roles offered are GIS specials, Urban Planner, etc.
Infrastructure: The geology department of AMU LAB ranks 2nd in India, and the classrooms have good wi-fi available for everyone. Hostel facilities are decent for the price we pay, food quality is poor, and we have to rely on canteens and nearby hotels for food. Medical facilities are free for students with ID cards, and sports and games options are plentiful with grounds both indoors and outdoors available on campus.
Faculty: Teachers here are excellent, mostly Ph.D. holders from reputable universities. The culture here is very diverse, the teaching quality is very good, and the professors are supportive and knowledgeable. The curriculum is very well designed by the department and focuses on making students industry-ready. Semester exams are tough, maintaining standard and lengthy too. Most students get passed easily if they score well in sessional .

Good academics. Room for improvement in some facilities.
Placements: I am pursuing a B.Sc. in Hons Geology. In our batch, 80% were placed. The highest package 8LPA. The lowest 3.5LPA, Average 5.5LPA. Top recruiters are ONGC, Reliance, and Schlumberger. 60% got internships, in companies like the Geological Survey of India. Roles offered are Geologists, Petrophysicist and environment consultant.
Infrastructure: The Geology department boasts high tech labs, wi-fi-enabled classrooms and a rich functional library. Hostel amenities are decent; food in the mess is okay, but the canteen could improve. Medical aid is accessible; sports facilities have room for growth.
Faculty: Teachers were knowledgeable and supportive. Teaching quality was good, but practical application needs emphasis. Curriculum relevance varies; more industry-oriented focus would enhance readiness. Exams are moderate challenging; pass percentage average around 70-75%.

Good infrastructure, but not so good experience with faculty.
Placements: The B.Sc. Hons. Geology 2023 batch had 50% placements. Average package: INR 4.8 LPA; highest: INR 8.5 LPA; lowest: INR 3.2 LPA. Top recruiters are ONGC, the Geological Survey of India, etc. 40% of students secured internships at Schlumberger and Halliburton. Top roles offered are geologist, environment consultant, etc.
Infrastructure: Hostel infrastructure and facilities are good but need a lot of improvement. For example, there is no proper sanitation and waste management system, and bathrooms are not clean. Wi-Fi is available, and the reading room is adequate, but it closes early. Classrooms are average. Food quality is not good, but canteen options are good overall.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated and knowledgeable, but I would not say they were the most helpful once I missed my sessional due to the fact that, after requesting it many times, they did not conduct my sessional. The course curriculum is good and also helps students gain practical knowledge, which makes them industry-ready. Semester exams are very difficult, and the pass percentage is low too.
