Graduates in any stream from a recognised university are eligible for Calcutta University admission. Aspirants can apply by filling out the application form online by visiting the CU website (caluniv.ac.in). Admission to MBA courses is through national-level entrance exams such as CAT/ MAT/ JEMAT, followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

Calcutta University offers MBA across four specialisations. These are Marketing Management, Financial Management, Operations Management and System Analysis and Human Resource Management. Moreover, many CU-affiliated colleges also offer MBA programmes. Calcutta University MBA course is offered through the Department of Business Management at Alipore Campus. The same department also offers a Master of Human Resource and Organisational Management (MHROM) course in the Self-Finance category. Students can also get admission to the MBA (Financial Management) course, which is taught through the Department of Commerce at Calcutta University.

The university offers admission to different UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate courses in Management, Science, Arts, and Commerce, and many others. For most of the courses, the university conducts an entrance exam and some required minimum marks in the qualifying exam. The admissions to Calcutta University are based on a merit list prepared by the authority basis on the candidate's entrance exam score.

The CAT exam is always conducted on the last Sunday of November every year so the CAT 2024 exam will be conducted on November 24, 2024. Official announcement of the CAT 2024 exam date will be made by the convening IIM on July 30, 2024. Ohh! if you are scoring 50 percentile in CAT, you will stay  so close to get admission at Calcutta University for MBA course but you won't get selection. The Calcutta University cutoff 2024 for the open category candidates stood at 50.35 percentile. However, if a candidate belong to OBC AI quota, then 50 percentile will surely get him/her admission at Calcutta University. The Calcutta University CAT cutoff 2024 for OBC AI quota was 40.
