B.Sc. in Physical Science with Chemistry - Batch of 2028
Offered by Ramjas College, University of Delhi
4.2
Absolutely a satisfying college.
Placements: Right now, I am studying in my first year, so I don’t know much about the placements. But from what I have heard, placements are quite good. There is also a placement cell group for students. Students who are willing can take help from it.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in the new building is good, but in the old building it is not good. The canteen food is good, but the area does not seem great to eat in, as it is not very clean. Hostels are old, so I have no idea about them. The greenery of the campus provides a soothing look. There is AC in the rooms, so it is a great benefit to the atmosphere, as it always remains good even on hot days.
Faculty: Faculty is no doubt awesome. The exams are very easy if you study well. Studying one night before the exam can help you score around 7 SGPA. So you should study at least 2–3 days before. The course also has a fourth year, which will provide us with an honors degree.
Other: This course is newly introduced, so not everyone knows much about future opportunities. But if you want to do something side by side with this course, then it is a cherry on top.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2026
Offered by Gargi College, University of Delhi
4.0
Good and safe environment, placement should be improved.
Placements: There are almost 50 students in my course, and the average package is 5 LPA, as per my knowledge. 5 students got internships in NITI Aayog. They got roles like writers, researchers, etc., but students didn't get a good package, it can be improved, and a better company can be there.
Infrastructure: All things are very nice. Wi-Fi connection is very nice, and the class is properly ventilated. I am not a hostel student, but as my friends told me, hostel food facilities and security are very nice, the infrastructure is very huge, and the sports facility is nice. Many students are engaged in sports.
Faculty: We have very highly qualified faculty members. They are all very supportive and have deep knowledge of their subject. The exams and curriculum are of a very good level. Exams are of a moderate level only. All students passed. Class teachers are very friendly as well and provide proper guidance.
Other: This college provided me with a very safe and secure environment. All guests who came to college gave us their valuable words, which provided me with great exposure. Fest is literally awesome. This course made me learn new skills. All things are very nice, only the timetable should be improved.

B.A. (Hons.) in Journalism - Batch of 2028
Offered by Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi
3.6
It's a good college with average facilities.
Placements: It is a creative and practice-based course (journalism hons), so there are no placements in KNC. We have to develop skills and make our place in this field. We must actively look for internships on different platforms and try to keep in touch with seniors, as they can guide us.
Infrastructure: There are no hostels as of now. Wi-Fi is available, but the accessibility is sometimes questionable. The library is good with fans, coolers, and AC. There is a recent installation of a lift. There are plenty of sources to access reading materials with the availability of books. The Journalism department has its own building with decent classrooms. A water cooler is available. The canteen and cafe are also provided within the premises. There's a medical room. In regard to sports, cricket, basketball, and football are provided. Other sports aren't available.
Faculty: Faculty members are really good and understanding, with years of experience. They provide study materials. Classes conducted are practical and interactive. Teachers are supportive and give second chances with assignments and tests as they want us to improve. The course curriculum is as per DU guidelines, and we need to follow that only. The level of exams is not difficult, and we can easily manage. Since it's a practical-based subject, we will get (some, not all) assignments. It requires field trips as well.
Other: The best thing about this course is that it's not just theoretical but also more practical. We get to learn a variety of things in the media, and how it works, which gives students a range of options to choose what aligns with their interests more. The campus crowd is diverse. We get to meet and interact with our peers coming from different parts of the country. Fests are really good. Scholarships are also available. I wish there were more sports facilities. The college organises events and field trips for students, but I would say don't rely much on it and try to get exposure on our own by reaching out to other colleges and connecting with alumni.

It is a great college, though strict. Facilities and infrastructure are amazing here.
Placements: B.Sc. Physical Science is not a top course, so placements are not that good. Companies visit the college for placements. In the end, it depends on our skill set, but as for the campus placements, they fall behind. Other courses, such as B.Com (Hons) or Eco Hons, have great placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Every classroom, canteen, library, and every place is air-conditioned. The quality of food is good, not so amazing, but good. Sports and games are available. Almost every sport is available. There is also a good society for sports.
Faculty: Faculty members are experienced. Some teachers are polite, and some are rude. It depends on person to person. The course curriculum is relevant as we've been learning C+ and data structures, which is very helpful for that. Semester exams are somewhat easy. Some subjects are easy to score.

For personality development, lots of opportunities due to college societies and academic environment
Placements: Placement is unlikely to happen in the B.A. programme as most of the students do B.A. to give government exams like UPSC and SSC but the academic environment is good for B.A. courses but in courses like economics honours and B.Com placement is good but not 100 percent.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent. The campus is small but lively. You can spot people doing everything from studying to dancing, gossiping, and debating but the most effective is the library. You get two very good, big reading rooms with AC which have a very academic environment and provide a good number of books.
Faculty: Teachers are very decent in teaching but if someone has a personal bond with them then they can learn a lot from them. Other than that, the curriculum is very good and productive but you have to study on your own but with that you can have a decent amount of understanding of your course.
Other: The environment and energy are good but you need to find good people who are academically competent who really help to build your personality.

Excellent infrastructure with crazy fests.
Placements: Various third and fourth year students got placed from our course and college if I talk about it in broad terms. The top recruiting companies are Deloitte, Fortis, EY, KPMG, etc. Many students got placed in the field of Industrial Psychology. The top roles that are offered from my course other than IO Psychology are Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, etc. Our college has recently signed an MoU with Proactive Foundation to give internships to psychology students. One drawback is that psychology students have to pay for internships in their first and second years.
Infrastructure: Gargi is peaceful with facilities like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Psychology labs, etc. The classrooms are well-maintained and have seats that can accommodate all the students of a year. The library is also very good, it has books on all subjects and proper cleanliness is maintained. Talking about Wi-Fi, it is not good, the network is not good in most areas of the college. There is a proper tennis and basketball court and a huge ground giving proper sports facilities. The new academic block has AC also. The mess has good food. The medical room is there.
Faculty: The teachers are not that good. Some professors are really nice and some don't even bother to come to college to teach. The course curriculum is also not very efficient as it doesn't give the students the practical skills that are required to pursue psychology as a career. The teachers don't teach the basics of psychology. It is very easy to pass semester exams as the teachers don't care, you just need to give assignments and tests on time and fill the pages of the DU answer sheet.
Other: I chose this course for the love I have for psychology as a field. The best things about my course are that it is very interesting and I really like it. I think the faculty should incorporate teaching practical skills to psychology students and not just reading from the books. The annual culture event of Gargi is really good, the college campus is very pretty and peaceful, and the infrastructure is really nice. There are many societies in Gargi, and the extracurricular activities are also top-notch. The canteen, Nescafé, and Mother Dairy are great.

Fully satisfied. College is great.
Placements: If you are expecting placement, DU is not your place. Here there is good exposure and networking, but not guaranteed placements. It is only possible when you put in a lot of hard work. As my college provides various courses, many roles are offered here. Many students do get very good placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not so good as it is a government college. Still, it is good as we have Wi-Fi, various labs, AC, and a library. Motilal does not provide hostel facilities; almost all DU colleges do not. Students have to live in PG or flats, but everything is nearby.
Faculty: Our faculty is really good. All professors are very knowledgeable and qualified. I have B.Com (Hons), and my faculty is personally very helpful and interactive. Exams are also held regularly. The pass percentage is good if you maintain 67% attendance.
Other: I chose B.Com (Hons) because I belong to a commerce background. It is one of the best courses a student can pursue after 12th. Events in our college are also nice as expected, the campus area is top-notch, and all societies are very active.

Gargi College - A home you grow into.
Placements: Placements are decent, not top-tier DU level. You won't get 20 LPA offers, but solid roles are possible if you're proactive from year one. Companies like Deloitte, EY, Wipro, TCS, and startups recruit here, with average packages of around 4-6 LPA. I got placed at 5 LPA, so it's achievable if you build skills outside class too. 40 percent of my class students got placed at companies like EY, Deloitte, etc. The top roles in my course have mainly been from marketing, HR and auditing.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is solid in Gargi's Campus. The campus is green, clean, and not overcrowded like North Campus. We have well-maintained labs, especially the Google labs for tech and data courses, a good library, and decent auditoriums for events. The canteen food is affordable and actually edible, and there is enough open space to just sit and hang out between classes. It's not a fancy private college setup, but it's functional, well-kept, and safe.
Faculty: Most of the faculty are doctorates and actually help if you're serious. They're strict in internals, though, so you can't sack off. The Google labs are a big plus for practical learning. The course is NEP, therefore, very relevant. The semester exams aren't very hard. You can easily pass by studying the night before, but you have to pass in the internals as they're pretty strict about it.
Other: Being an all-girls college, there's this instant sense of comfort and camaraderie. You're not completing or holding back - people actually support each other. The crowd is diverse, from Delhi locals to students from all over India, and it's easy to find your group. There's less pressure, more genuine friendships, and you feel safe moving around campus, even late during fest season.

Q:   How will I be allocated a seat at DU via the CSAS allocation (CUET UG counselling process)?
5thumbs up
A:

For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme's eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following points:

  • Course-Specific merit
  • Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
  • Seat Intake
  • Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by CSAS or University of Delhi
Q:   Do I need 60% in Class 12 to get admission in DU?
A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

Q:   Does DU give spot admission in BA LLB?
