On Fees and Eligibility
Q:   Can I get DTU with 80 percentile in JEE Main via JAC Delhi?
A:
Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. The cutoff also goes high and low every year, depending on the following factors: Number of aspirants registered, The difficulty level of the exam, Total number of seats available, total number of applications received for a particular program, and the category under which admission is sought. Therefore, it is very difficult to predict the exact cutoff and give an exact answer to this question.
Q:   Is MBA from DTU worth?
A:

In the recent 2022 MBA placements at DTU, Finance turned out to be the highest recruiting sector.  Additionally, the highest salary (domestic) offered stood at INR 19 LPA and the average salary stood at INR 8.9 LPA. Q:   Can I get into DTU without giving JEE?
A:

No, candidates cannot get admission to DTU without appearing for JEE Main as the DTU BTech counselling is done through JAC Delhi. The basic criteria for admission to BTech is appearing for JEE Mains. To get into DTU, candidates must score decent marks or at least around 220 or above marks in JEE Mains. The only way to get into DTU without appearing for JEE Main is by taking a lateral entry admission to BTech second year. In order to do this, candidates must complete a Polytechnic course of two years and then appear for an entrance exam (not JEE Main but this exam will give you entry in DTU's second year.

B.Tech. in Software Engineering - Batch of 2029

4Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
All facilities here are good.
Placements: The placement percentage is 7.2% as there are approximately 2,500 students in B. Tech, out of which 180 are in software courses. The highest package was 85 LPA, and the average was 20 LPA, as per 2024 data. Top recruiting companies are Google and Microsoft. Approximately 50 percent of students get internships in various companies. The top role is SDE.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not provided in the hostel or classrooms. Mess quality is not very good, especially in the first-year mess. Medical facilities are also inadequate. Sports facilities are okay, but students are not allowed to play after 11 pm as all lights in the sports complex are switched off.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, while others are rude and do not explain things properly. Semester exams are not very difficult, but a few subjects have quite difficult exams. Passing marks are 33% in theory exams, including mid-semester and end-semester exams.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2029

DTU placements are good, and the fests are truly awesome.
Placements: The placement status of DTU is quite decent. Almost 65% of students getting placed. The average package is around 10.2 LPA, and the highest package was 24 LPA in 2024. The data for 2025 is not out, but it is expected to be better than 2024. Top companies recruiting in core are DMRC and DLF, and internships are majorly in DMRC. Some students also get placed in tech roles, but only a few with good skills and CGPA. Currently, 9 out of 10 companies coming are tech-related, and in that case, the average is good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. The college campus is approximately 170 acres with lush green trees. The lab infrastructure in my department is very good, for example, the earthquake technology lab, concrete lab, and many more. The campus infrastructure is very good. Since this college is almost 70 years old, a few hostels are not in good condition, especially for boys, but the newly built ones are very good. The library is excellent, with three floors and almost all books available. The food in the hostel mess is also very good.
Faculty: Paste any text and run our free, unlimited AI checker for ChatGPT, GPT-4 and Gemini — instant, reliable AI content detection with no sign-up required. Exams are always conducted on time without delay, and the credit goes to the management. Teachers and professors are very good and experienced. The curriculum is also designed well, keeping in view the recent changes and demands of the industry.
Other: DTU is very famous for fests, which happen almost twice a month and always keep students entertained. Popular fests include Engifest, Yuvaan, Invictus, Uphaar, Sanedo, and many more. The only drawback is the girls-to-boys ratio, as there are fewer girls compared to boys. The college has almost all societies for any interest. The network and the crowd in the college are also very good. Many scholarships are provided for economically weaker sections.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2029
4.4
4Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Worth the money, especially for students of Delhi, incredible fests, chill environment.
Placements: Percentage of students placed in Mech Engineering are 65 percent. The highest package offered is 45 LPA. Average package offered is 9.6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Tata Motors, Maruti & Suzuki. Internships with good incentives are offered if your CGPA is 8–8.5+ till the beginning of intern season, i.e., in the beginning of 3rd year. Majorly, the students placed in ME are offered the position of Product Manager or Team Lead in various fields.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are at par with the top engineering institutes of India, with multiple ACs and projector facilities installed. The distinctive feature of ME of DTU is its labs, which include the best machinery and technology worth millions. The campus has a central library, and each department has its own library with continuing resources associated with their courses. The 1st-year hostels are average, but as you move on to senior-year hostels, their level increases exponentially, equipped with lavish rooms and sanitary facilities. The food provided in the mess is decided properly for a fixed period and is overall good.
Faculty: The teachers provide support to the students who are hungry to learn. Doubts will surely be cleared if anyone approaches them. The curriculum is followed keeping NEP in mind, so it is unarguably enough to make students ready for real-life challenges. The attendance criteria is 75 percent, but most of the teachers will relieve you even if you attend half of the classes. The exams are easy to score as long as you devote at least a bit of your time to the subjects.
Other: The best thing about this college is its fest and society culture. In my opinion, society works can teach you more about corporate work than the entire 4 years spent in college. The fests of DTU are widely popular, and students from all over Delhi try to find any loopholes to get entry in them.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2029
4.4
5Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
All things are good, but faculty members are not that good, depends.
Placements: According to our seniors, almost 70–80 percent of students are placed on campus, also in top MNCs. The average package goes around 12 LPA, while the highest depends on you; moreover, it's 52 LPA in the Electrical department. Also, almost all top companies come for recruitment, like for analog engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: Hostels are not that good for boys, but the new hostels for girls and boys are very good. All facilities are provided like AC, Wi-Fi, mess, etc. The campus is huge, very green, and buildings are well maintained. There are many canteens available. If we talk about sports, it is excellent, they have well-maintained grounds and organize all sports fests. There is a big ground for cricket, and all sports are available.
Faculty: The faculty are knowledgeable and highly qualified, but as usual, their teaching will not always be understood by us. To be industry-ready, you have to put in hard work because the course curriculum is irrelevant, especially in the first year. Study carefully or prepare for exams 3–4 weeks before. Don’t listen to anyone who says preparation can be done in one night. Although exams are not that tough, you have to score around 23 marks from the combined semester of the first year.
Other: I joined because of placements, extracurricular activities, and fests. But this year, I don’t know what happened to the Cultural Council—they canceled all fests and events. Let’s see what happens in the future. I hope all gets right. If they focus on teaching concepts rather than just syllabus completion, it will be better. There are some teachers who teach like school teachers, even on holidays, and some teachers don’t teach at all. So it depends on your batch.

No fest this year, all other facilities are Tier 1.
Placements: Despite the 85% criteria for admission, admission is at par with the NITs if not IITs. This year the highest package being around 84LPA, the records stay strong. Being from the core background, TexasInstruments is the top package offering recruiter. G.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is Tier 1 except in the Type 2 boys hotel which they allot in the 1st year. The type 2 hostel isn't clean enough, crowded and furniture is also not available, No Wi-Fi service, no as such freedom given by warden. Rude attendants and crazy warden.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified with many degrees to boast of but the ones taking the initial semesters aren't as interested in teaching as they should be, the SEE the 'teaching' job as nothing more than a duty in their academic life. Semester exams are quite good at their difficult level.

A good college with strong placements, balanced experience, and good exposure.
Placements: For our passing-out batch, the placement scenario was quite strong and consistent with DTU's overall reputation. Around 85-90% of eligible students from our batch were placed through the campus recruitment process. A few students opted for higher studies, startups, or government exams, so they did not participate in placements. The highest, the lowest & average package based on the official placement report and department statistics: the highest package is around 80 LPA-85 LPA (domestic). The average package is around 14-16 LPA for our branch.
Infrastructure: The college has fully equipped classrooms with projectors and audio systems. Dedicated laboratories with upgraded equipment, instruments, and software relevant to our branch. High-speed Wi-Fi access across the academic area, helping students with research and project work. Departmental library sections, along with access to the main library, which offers thousands of books, e-resources, journals (IEEE, Springer), and digital databases. Research facilities and project labs where students can work on internships, projects, and competitions. Access to computer centers, CAD labs, seminar halls, and collaboration spaces. Overall, the infrastructure supports practical learning, project development, and industry-level exposure.
Faculty: The faculty in my course is overall average. Most professors are knowledgeable in their subject areas and experienced, but the teaching style varies from teacher to teacher. Some faculty members explain concepts very well, while others rely heavily on presentations or theoretical explanations. Interaction outside the classroom is available, but not very frequent. And attending classes, the exams are manageable.

DTU ranked 29 under the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF 2023. There are many IITs ranked before DTU under the same category. In fact, The Times Rankings 2022 ranked DTU number 1 in the Delhi NCR region for 'Engineering' category.

DTU BTech students are placed in top companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Zomato, and others. Also the BTech fee is not very high. To clear JEE Main, candidates must study according to the JEE Main syllabus and appear for as many JEE Main mock tests as possible.

However, admission is primarily determined by your JEE Main rank rather than your grades.

You have to attend JAC Delhi counseling after JEE.

Therefore, you can get DTU CSE/IT if your JEE score is high.
