It is a good experience. Exploring college life is very important.
Placements: These days, due to the recession in Tamil Nadu, placements are not top-notch but are still decent for the 2024 and 2025 batches. There are off-campus opportunities available. Students must have strong communication skills and the necessary skillset for their desired job roles. Without these, colleges can't guarantee a job. Students need to work hard. Overall, 70–80% of students at DTU get placed, but it's not 100% in core branches. In environmental engineering, companies like Maruti Suzuki, TERI, GAIL, and EY are some of the big firms that come for placements. However, very few students get on-campus internships. Most apply off-campus and do internships during college. In environmental engineering, many students go for non-teaching roles such as business analyst and associate. Some prefer to pursue higher studies. Those who focus on placements and work hard definitely get a decent job.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is absolutely great. The Wi-Fi network is often overloaded due to the large number of students. Labs are top-notch, and the hostel facilities are good, with average mess food quality. There is a medical center with various doctors available. The sports area is vast, and the infrastructure is excellent, with a big campus and greenery all around. There are 2–3 stationery shops and 2 canteens. Additionally, there are two auditoriums. The old hostels are not in good condition, but the new ones are really great.
Faculty: The curriculum is a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. It is not always aligned with industrial requirements, as the industry needs knowledgeable candidates for specific job roles. It is advisable to study subjects in depth if one wants to pursue a career in the core field. Faculty is well-educated, and there are Ph.D. students who sometimes teach us. Our academic exams include mid-semester exams, end-semester exams, assignments, and viva. Semester exams are of moderate to hard level. Core branches are quite tough. In environmental engineering, one can't get a 10 CGPA; it is really tough compared to Computer Science. Computer Science students are able to score 9.5+ CGPA in their graduation.
Other: There are around 3,000 students in a batch, so the campus is crowded. Students usually come to college when classes are scheduled. There is a large number of students in CS and IT, while other core branches have smaller sizes. Campus life is more focused on students' concerns about placements and careers. There are fests from time to time, and students enjoy them. During Engifest (the annual fest of DTU), there is a huge crowd from other colleges. Scholarships are also available for those who are aware and eligible. I advise you to aim for a good CGPA (more than 8.0), as it helps a lot in placements and internship opportunities.

For those who don't make it to DTU, DTU is more than or like IITs.
Placements: Environment engineering is a specialized field that focuses on the application of scientific and engineering principles to protect and reserve the environment. In our branch, most companies that visit our campus are non-technical companies like Deloitte.
Infrastructure: Delhi Technological University has one of the biggest campuses in Delhi, with many food and beverage stalls, wide and big sports grounds and open green space to hang out with your friends. DTU gives life to their students as well as faculty, and I think it's the best college.
Faculty: Faculty and curriculum are a big drawback in this college. Professors are least qualified and don't have knowledge to teach. It is a great place to study with its vast collection and quiet rooms. The campus is also very green, with plenty of places to relax. Academically, my college is demanding but offers a well-rounded education. Professors are knowledgeable.
Other: Overall, according to me, DTU gives a chill life to their students as well as faculty. In my opinion, it's the best college in Delhi .

Really good infrastructure and opportunities.
Placements: 50 to 60% placement in our branch this year so it's a good option for freshers. The highest package this year is INR 7 lakh. The top recruiting companies are Sprinkler and Infoedge. Their top roles are data analysts and business analysts. In my branch, 40 to 50 internships are provided by our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, like the girls hostel, is very good but the boys hostel is not, and the old building and library are beautiful and large. The labs are also well maintained with better equipment and good food quality but some hostels provide food with poor hygiene.
Faculty: The faculty in environment engineering is quite good but they are experienced people, and their way of teaching is good. The course curriculum is very easy as compared to the other courses, and semester exams are conducted every month like mock tests.

Review of DTU - Delhi Technological University.
Placements: Now, due to the recession, the placement percentage ratio is down in the environment engineering branch. Out of 75 students, only 15 placed out of 75 in October, but in 2023, it will be 70 percent, so it is a good ratio in environment engineering and the highest package is INR 26 lacs.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good in the library, hostel, canteen, or mess hostel. Especially talking about the girls hostel, better facilities are provided than the boys hostel. Now, quality food is okay, but not hygienic, and the classroom does not have proper AC in the lower branch. Overall, the infrastructure is good.
Faculty: Faculty in environment engineering are very strict in attendance and they are experienced and knowledgeable faculty as compared to other colleges. You can study for exams two days before and score more every semester.

There is really good infrastructure.
Placements: Decent placement in environment engineering branch mostly placed in non-tech companies that have greater knowledge of SQL and Excel and other tools like communication, p.a. BI, etc. The median package is INR 13 lacs per annum and there is very little chance to get into the teaching sector.
Infrastructure: Beautiful campus and infrastructural building with premium design and facilities like average food given in hostel mess and hostel rooms. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned, and the library is so large in college that it looks very nice and all lab equipment is available.
Faculty: Faculty in the environment engineering department are very strict against either attendance or marks, and taking the class is also very bad in this branch, so I recommend taking the upper branches, like pure core branches, e.g., EP, ME, CE, IT, etc.

Q:   What has been the trend for cut-off in BTech in Environmental Engineering at Delhi Technological University in the last few years?
    A:

DTU BTech in Environmental Engineering cutoff (General Category) for the years 2021 and 2022 stood at 41389 and 21598 respectively. This indicates an increasing cutoff trend for the course meaning, the competition for admissions has increased. The likely reason behind this trend is the growing number of students who wish to pursue a career in engineering.

    AskShikshaGPT on App
Q:   What is the fees structure of DTU for BTech?
    A:

The total tuition fee for the full-time BTech programme ranges between INR 6.06 and INR 6.42 lakh while the students who get into this college via Lateral Entry are required to pay a tuition fee of INR 2.97 lakh. Additionally, the total tuition fee for BTech (Evening) programme is INR 4 lakh. This structure of DTU fees for BTech, however, is sourced from unofficial sources. Hence is indicative. For the exact fee, students can reach out to the admission office or visit the official website for details. Additionally, for all BTech courses, aspirants are also required to pay a registration cum counselling fee of INR 1,500 on the official website of JAC Delhi which is non-refundable. When a student receives an admission offer, they are required to pay the admission fee charges (which are adjusted in the total fee) to confirm their seat.

Q:   Is it worth pursuing BTech at DTU?
    A:

DTU ranked 29 under the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF 2023. There are many IITs ranked before DTU under the same category. Also, it competes against the top-notch NITs and second-phase IITs in several specialisations of BTech. Hence, it is safe to say that DTU is as good as an IIT or an NIT in northern India. In fact, The Times Rankings 2022 ranked DTU number 1 in the Delhi NCR region for 'Engineering' category.

DTU BTech students are placed in top companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Zomato, and others. Also the BTech fee is not very high. To clear JEE Main, candidates must study according to the JEE Main syllabus and appear for as many JEE Main mock tests as possible.

Q:   What is the Application fee for BTech at DTU?
    A:

Candidates seeking admission to BTech are required to apply via the JAC Delhi website. JAC registration is a two-step online process where students have to fill out the online application form and then make the payment of the application fee. The registration fee is INR 1,500. In addition to this, JAC Delhi also charges additional fees for changes in the course preference before every round.

Q:   Can I get admission to Delhi Technological University in BTech CSE if my rank is under 5000?
    A:

For last year, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 4008 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in DTU - Delhi Technological University.
