However, there are a few MBA specialised courses and BBA, admission to which is offered based on the past qualifying exam (UG level) followed by an interview round.
As per the JEE Main Round 1 cutoff released by DTU for admission to the BTech programme, BTech CSE, IT, Software Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are the top five and most competitive specialisations offered here. The application fee for all the MBA courses at DTU is INR 1,500. This fee component for the General MBA programme is the same for reserved category candidates. Delhi Technological University (DTU) is definitely a Tier 1 college. DTU was established in 1941, and the oldest IIT was established around 1951. DTU Delhi is accredited by the NAAC with an 'A' grade and NBA and is also approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and AICTE. DTU College is ranked 62 under the Overall category by NIRF 2025, 42 under the University category by NIRF 2025, and 30 under the Engineering category by NIRF 2025. The university is ISO-certified and was earlier affiliated with the University of Delhi.
If we talk about the reviews, DTU is better than NSIT. Students have shown great interest in the DTU placements and quality of education over the years. Whereas, NSIT is also gaining popularity among the students. Which is better or best depends on the student's preference.
DTU is indeed a great college for engineering, specially B.Tech. Since it takes students through JEE Mains, the quality of students is also very good.
Being a very old government college, it has gained immense recognition as well. Syllabus is a bit outdated. The subjects in the first year are common for all, irrespective of branches. Classes are held regularly, though there are bunks as well during exams, fests etc.
The professors are well educated, most of them have done PhD. Some of the teachers are good, interesting while some make the subject very boring and dull. Some of them would just copy the things from the book without actually making the students understand. I would advice to be regular in class and always stay in touch with the syllabus. The study during engineering is comparatively easier than that during JEE and so one can easily cope up.
DTU is not just great in terms of academics or placements, but the fests and societies also help a student to develop as an individual. It makes you a much better person rather than just a bookish engineer.
For 2026, four regular and one spot round seat allotment will be released for DTU admission to the BTech course. The cutoffs are decided following the below-mentioned factors, including JEE Main score, category and the number of seats available for the course.
The table below mentions the branch-wise highest and average packages offered to BTech students during DTU placements 2025:
BTech Branch | Highest Package 2025 | Average Package 2025 |
|---|---|---|
COE | INR 64 LPA | INR 19.85 LPA |
IT | INR 56 LPA | INR 16.62 LPA |
SE | INR 85 LPA | INR 18.46 LPA |
MCE | INR 48 LPA | INR 15.22 LPA |
ECE | INR 48 LPA | INR 15.82 LPA |
EE | INR 45 LPA | INR 12.89 LPA |
ME | INR 31 LPA | INR 9.58 LPA |
AE | INR 22 LPA | INR 9.1 LPA |
PE | INR 20.85 LPA | INR 9.65 LPA |

There isn't one magic book for LEET that guarantees admission to universities like DTU or Thapar. I've seen most students do well by first covering their Diploma basics properly and then practicing previous year papers as much as possible.
For Mathematics, books like R.S. Aggarwal are quite common, a
