College is very good and has a powerful alumni network.
Placements: As of 2025, 59 students were eligible out of which 56 got placed in my branch in mechanical engineering. Placement percentage is 107%. Top recruitment companies are Samsung Electronics and TCS which often pick students in bulk. Almost 70% of students got internships from the campus.
Infrastructure: As we know, the college is very old thus the infrastructure is also very old but it gives chills too. The hostel is in bad condition. The mess food is below average for the first-year students. Water quality is bad as of now. Wi-Fi is available, which gives 8 GB per student per day but it is very slow.
Faculty: Faculty as we know are mostly from good colleges, such as IIT and NIT. Some of them have taught in foreign universities also. They are all very qualified, and most are Ph.Ds. Now about curriculum, it is as per NEP but it still lacks practical aspects.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in mechanical field and campus events. The crowd is all good.

The college is quite good in placements. The overall college life is very good.
Placements: About 90% of students secure jobs after completing their course. Good internships are there. The highest package is 42 LPA in food technology. The lowest is 3 LPA. There are 80 students in every branch. All branches are available. Some lower specific branches are also there.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. There are Wi-Fi facilities in every hostel. The mess food is not much good but quite good. Sports and games are arranged by the college. The college has an east and west campus. The overall area is 300 arces as per news. There is a 100-year legacy.
Faculty: Every teacher is qualified and a Ph.D. holder. Every semester, there are 2 mid-semesters and one semester. 75% attendance is compulsory for every student to appear in exams. Teachers give practical knowledge and theoretical as well. We can easily learn the concepts taught by teachers.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because it is the fundamental branch of engineering. It focuses on designing, developing, and production of machines.

College is average and better than some lower-level NITs. Placements are good about 8 LPA.
Placements: About 85% of students get placed every year. Tata Motors, Hero, Snapdeal, Exon Mobile, Reliance Industrial Limited, Indian Oil, etc., are top recruiting companies for our courses. The highest package is around 22 LPA. The average is about 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is of average quality in this college. The library facilities are good here. Wi-Fi connection is provided to students. The food quality in our hostel is good. A dispensary is also there. Sports and games facilities are average.
Faculty: Some teachers are good. Some are rude. Some are helpful but all are knowledgeable. The teaching quality is average but not at a very good level. The curriculum is relatable. Semester exams are kind of moderate. The passing percentage is 40% per subject.
Other: I chose this course because I was getting this branch as per cutoff. The best thing about the course is that it has better placements than other branches. It should be updated according to the industrial needs.

College placements partially decreases due to discipline of students.
Placements: Above 90% of students got placed in this previous year. The highest salary package offered was 22 LPA by Valency International, and the lowest salary offered was 4 LPA. The average salary package offered was 7 LPA in Tata Motors. About 44% of students secured internships at Reliance Industries Limited, HCL, and Tata Consultancy Services.
Infrastructure: Facilities like Wi-Fi, computer labs, classrooms, library, sports ground, Canteen, innovation hub, and gym are available. The quality of food in mess is good. Mess menu can be changed according to students. Hostel infrastructure are not good but all hostel have playground.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified from NITs and IITs. Course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are partially difficult. Overall, pass percentage is 40% and 30%in all subjects. Minimum 15 marks are needed in all subjects in end semester exams. We can prepare for exams 1 week before.
Other: I chose this course because this course is reliable according to my rank and this course will be in high demand in the coming years. Some changes in semester exams are needed. College fest was conducted last January and has a high alumni connectivity along with scholarship facilities.

Review of Harcourt Butler Technical University.
Placements: More than 70 percent of the students get placed from college campus placements. The highest offered package is 17 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. Recruitment companies include Suzuki, Reliance, Aarti Industries and many more. Less than 30 percent of the students from the mechanical engineering department got internships before 3rd year.
Infrastructure: The quality of the food available at the mess is good and hygienic. The menu for the entire week is very clear and specific with the timing. College does provide Wi-Fi of medium speed but limited data on a daily basis. There are many canteens in the college and the food quality is good.
Faculty: Teachers of HBTU are very well qualified and have great knowledge and experience in their related field. The course curriculum is not very relevant to the real-world problems but the curriculum helps in development for the real-world problems. Yes, the end semester exams are on the tougher side.
Other: Mechanical engineering from HBTU has much value in it. There is a good demand for this field integrated with AI and ML.

Really good infrastructure and faculty is decent.
Placements: The placement is decent even in core branch; if you cross eligibility criteria, you will get the job after passing out. Most of the MNCs visit for the campuses placement, like if I talk about in core Maruti, Honda, Yamaha, Hero, Harleys, Bajaj and many more are recruiting.
Infrastructure: The hostel is also good and the food is not that good, but you manage all the stuff. The thing is that the culture in the hostel makes you feel hustle-free, and you would enjoy your hostel days. I would not talk about food because there is a market nearby, and most of the students miss their lunch.
Faculty: Good faculty have lots of experience because the college was established in 1921, one of the oldest colleges in India. That is why faculty have too much experience and if you have an interest in the research field, then you will definitely think about this college.
Other: You will not regret it.

Dissatisfied with the practical aspects of the course.
Placements: Sixty-three out of 78 students were eligible for placement, and all 63 eligible students were placed. The highest package was 12 LPA, the lowest package was 3 LPA, and the average package was 5 LPA. Companies like Larsen and Toubro, Maruti Suzuki, and Aarti Industries come for the internship program in the 3rd year, and some selected candidates get internships on campus.
Infrastructure: The classroom is well designed, as is the mechanical engineering department, with air-conditioned rooms and Wi-Fi installed. However, the labs are quite poor; almost all of them are outdated, and no experiments can be performed in the hydraulics lab. The computers are also outdated. Regarding the hostel, single rooms are available from the 3rd year, and the food is average. Only the second-year hostel has a night canteen, and some generic medicines are available. Sports depend on the individual, and table tennis is available in the hostel's common room.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and well qualified (many hold doctorates) and are an ocean of knowledge, but the delivery varies from professor to professor; some are excellent, while others are not. The courses follow the new education policy, but semester exams in the mechanical department are quite tough, with 40 out of 100 marks considered a passing score.
Other: I am passionate about mechanical engineering, and practical applications are available in this course. Events like Aagaz (sports fest), Technika (technical fest), and Adhyay (cultural fest) are held.

I am dissatisfied because of culture fests but overall college is good
Placements: Placement are good. In mechanical engineering branch 100 percent students placed. There are many big comes for recruitment like Samsung, Hero motors, Borosil, Valency international and Tata too. The highest package is 36 LPA and average package is 9LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent labs and classroom are good, wifi enabled hostels, we have common in our hostels for playing indoor games and television entertainment. Hostels food is great according to me. In HBTU there are many hostels for boys and girls.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and highly qualified and very passionate to teach. Btech course makes students industry ready. Teachers are very strict for perform experiment for industrial knowledge. Semester exam are difficult but not so much you can score good.

HBTU is way better than UIET, first of all, its the quality of students that reach there in HBTU, next you can compare placements between these colleges. Most of the non-core branches in HBTU have 100% placement. Companies like Samsung, Amazon, Maruti, General Motors, Asian paints, BEL etc visit HBT

HBTU (formerly HBTI) will take admission through counseling by JOSAA-2017 from this year. After 7 to 8 top NITs, HBTU is preferred by most of the students of Uttar Pradesh who have given UPSEE. HBTI was ranked at 45th in the year of 2020.
