HBTU: The Complete Review.
Placements: Overall good college with decent placement. 100% placement in paint and oil this year but not good for all branches. Very less people get internships. Average 7 Lacs placement. In civil engineering, topmost roles are design engineer, environment engineer, and building engineer, and you can get tons of government jobs in civil.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good and old. Limited resources. Only one library with limited timing of 10 to 7. No gym for 1st year. Exams are held every next month. Hostel facilities are average, I say not good. Broken windows and structure. Small common room. Average mess.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and good, but they give very bad marks, and a few give waste of work to do. Semester exams are easy but with a very vast syllabus and bad checking. Most students pass the exams easily by studying one night before the exams. Best thing, branch transfers in this college after getting good CGPA in 1st year, that’s why syllabus is vast and relevant.
Other: For students who want to pursue core branches, study for GATE, and technical branches like CS have to grind themselves for outside campus placement.

Harcourt Butler Technical University Reality Check.
Placements: In Civil, every year 12-15 students get placement. The highest package was 12 LPA, the lowest was 4 LPA, and the average was 6 LPA. L&T, Samsung E&A, Aarti Construction, etc. are the top recruiters. In civil internships, opportunities are not provided by college; you have to do it on your own. JE is the top role offered in companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities of the college are average. Wi-Fi is provided all over the college and hostel with nominal speed. Hostels are above average; food provided is good as compared to other colleges. Canteen Canberra opened in the hostel, after a student forced the warden, basically with the help of secretaries.
Faculty: Faculty are very good. Mostly professors are Ph.D. holders. Courses are based on the New Education policy. 2 midsems, quizzes, and surprise tests are held in every semester. The difficulty level of the end-sem examination is above average. Students have to study well to score 7 CGPA.

It is a good and well-known college, and it has value for money.
Placements: I am currently pursuing a B.Tech in civil engineering at HBTU Kanpur, and I am in my second year. The placement percentage for civil engineering is low compared to other branches at our college. Around 45-50% of students got placed in the civil engineering course. Graduates who study civil engineering often go on to take engineering examinations such as SSC JE, State AE, JE, ESE, and GATE, and many successfully get selected in these assessments. Top recruiters for civil engineering graduates include L&T, Technip Energy, and Aarti Industries, among others. Around 90-95% of students secure internships in their third year, with opportunities at companies like Aarti Industries, etc. Many water treatment plant and thermal energy plant companies also visit our college. These companies typically hire students for positions such as junior engineer, project manager, and site inspector.
Infrastructure: Facilities in our department are quite good. There is a reliable Wi-Fi connection. Labs are well-equipped with all the necessary tools. Our classrooms are nice and air-conditioned. While the department does not have a library, there is a common library that has around 5,000 to 6,000 books specifically for civil engineering. Hostel facilities are decent. Most of the buildings are a bit old. Sports are available in the hostel include volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, carrom, and cricket. The mess serves good food, and the menu is decided by students. Each hostel has two mess secretaries responsible for monitoring the quality of the meals. Overall, I would rate the food in my hostel with 3.5 out of 5.
Faculty: Our faculty members are well-qualified and have the proper experience to teach. Since this is an autonomous college, the university sets the exam dates and schedule. The college environment is good for studying. A minimum score of 40% is required to pass exams. Our course has a lab that prepares students to work in the industry. Semester examinations are not very difficult. We need to study to pass semester exams.
Other: I chose this course because I want to prepare for government examinations. New construction is needed in the civil department. Every year, there is a cultural fest known as Adhyay. For extracurricular activities there is a club where students can join. The campus size is very big. It is located in Kanpur's main city so there is no connectivity problem.

Review of Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur.
Placements: 84 percent of students are placed on campus in my course. HBTU has the highest package, approximately 36 lakh in the 2024 year, and the average package is 10 lakh, approximately and many companies are hiring HBTU students. The best internships are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: HBTU is the best college in state and almost all facilities and infrastructure are available for your course and department, as well as available Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and sports. It is the teaching, the best facilities in our college, and the food quality is the average type of food given.
Faculty: HBTU teachers are helpful to students. Our teachers are knowledgeable in this college in their particular subjects. No college provides a whole circum. The semester exams are average.
Other: B.Tech. civil engineering is my favourite branch. I think that my preparation for GATE is going well. Fest, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surrounding, scholarship, extracurricular activities, etc. are good.

100% placements in the year of 2020.
Placements: Honestly, in Civil Engineering, college placements are very tough. The highest package offered was about 6 LPA and the lowest was about 4 LPA. Once L&T visited our campus and took interviews, but after that they never called back. All the students got internships.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the college are very good but the infrastructure of the college is not very good because it is very old having about 30-40 years old buildings. There are 2 hostel options available for the 1st year students, one is lv new and the other is lv old, and if you got lv new, then consider yourself lucky.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful and knowledgeable having a deep knowledge about the course they are teaching and they are also very supportive in nature. The course curriculum is very relevant, they conduct ground level practicals and labs for the students to be ready for the Industries. Semester exams are a bit difficult because the exam papers were set by their own teachers.
Other: I chose this course because I love constructing things and they taught me well. There is no need of improvement ar all, everything’s perfect.

Hi Dinesh, Sorry to say, but you can't get any seat in HBTU. As you know that this college is preferred by top rankers of JEE Mains. I will suggest you to go for some other private colleges like Amity University, Shardha University, Lovely professional university, LNCT BHOPAL etc. You can also pred

Dear, Yes, of course you can do B.Tech in bio technology after doing 12th. Some universities provide direct admission management quota seats. After doing this there will be more opportunities available for you.

HBTU has come under JEE Mains system from 2017 onwards and only those students will get admission who have cleared JEE Mains cut-off and secured a good rank. Best of luck.
