The placement drive for 2023 is still on going. The complete placement report is yet to be released. However, the University has released the list of recruiters who participated during IKGPTU placements 2023 such as TCS, HDFC Bank, Decathlon, Infosys, etc.

The University has also released the 2023 NIRF report. As per the report, 55 BTech, 9 MTech, and 2 MBA students were placed during IK Gujral Punjab Technical University placements 2022. The median package for BTech stood at INR 4.50 LPA. For M.Tech and MBA courses, the median package stood at INR 3 LPA and INR 2.70 LPA, respectively.

The university offers BTech (four-year) in nearly five specialisations at the main campus. Candidates after completing Class 12 can apply for any of the below BTech specialisations:

The aspirant's performance in Class 12 along with their JEE Main scores and ranks are considered for admission to the BTech courses. Additionally, the student must also meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Eligible candidates with a valid JEE Main score can further fill out the IKGPTU application form online (ptu.ac.in). The university releases a merit list after the conclusion of the application process followed by which selected students are called for counselling.

Fees for B.Tech at  I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) is 1.5L - 5.2L per year. It may varies according to their taking facilities. The basic eligibility criteria is PTU B.Techoffering 180 seats.The median salary offered is 4.2 LPA and total tution fee is 5.15 lakh.
