STEP 1: IISc Bangalore Application Process 2026
The mode of application is online. Candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ EWS categories need to pay an application fee of INR 800 (INR 400 for SC/ ST/ PwD and INR 2,000 for ERP candidates of all categories). for Research/ PG courses. The application fees for four-year BSc (Research) course is INR 500 (INR 250 for SC/ ST/ PwD).

STEP 2: Selection

IISc Bangalore awards scholarships/ fellowships to students from the date of joining the Institute. Students can check the value of the scholarship/ fellowship per month enrolled in different programmes of the institute as given below:

- IISc waived of the tuition fees completely for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates from all courses.
- BE/ BTech graduates from IITs wih CGPA of 8.0 or above on 10 point scale admitted in MTech via CFTI mode of entry are considered for award of scholarship/ fellowship of INR 12,400 per month.
Note: All the regular PG and PhD students (except MSc, M.Mgt/ MTech via CFTI mode (Non-IITs), Joint MTech/ Masters of Engineering and UG course) who joined the institute are eligible for scholarships from MHRD/ CSIR/ UGC/ ICMR/ DBT/ AICTE/ DAE (NBHM) depending upon their mode of entry.

Candidates seeking admission to IISc Bangalore can apply online on the IISc Admissions Portal, i.e., official website. The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.
IISc Bangalore offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels in Engineering, Science and Design streams. The institute offers BTech, MTech, BS, MSc, etc. Candidates can apply online for the preferred course. Admissions are IISc Bangalore are entrance-based.
