STEP 1: IISc Bangalore Application Process 2026
The mode of application is online. Candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ EWS categories need to pay an application fee of INR 800 for PG level courses (INR 400 for SC/ ST/ PwD and INR 2,000 for ERP candidates of all categories). The application fees for four-year BSc (Research) course is INR 500 (INR 250 for SC/ ST/ PwD).

IISc Bangalore BTech programme is offered at the UG level in the academic feild of engineering and computation. The IISc BTech is offered for a duration of 4-year spread into 8 semesters.

IISc Bangalore GATE COAP cutoff 2026 was released for admission to the M.Tech course and its various branches for several All India categories.
For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 480 to 800, wherein MTech in Instrumentation Systems and MTech in Microelectronics and VLSI Design are the easiest and the hardest courses for admission, respectively. Refer to the table below to know the round 1 cutoff range for other All India categories.

IISC Bangalore accepts GATE scores for admisison to the M.Tech courses. Yes, a student can apply for more than one course based on their qualifications but must fill out appropriate online forms for the same. No, aspirants do require GATE for admission in MTech programme of IISc Bangalore. The weightage miht differ with MTech specialisation. For MTech Aerospace, Computer Science, Civil, etc. 100% weightage is given to GATE. For Bioengineering, Electrical, Electronics, etc. 70% GATE and 50% interview round. 70% weightage is given to GATE and 30% to written test conducted by the institute for MTech in AI, Chemical, Computational & Data Sciences.
