Amazing Campus Life, Good Infrastructure and Facilities, Hectic Schedules in Exams.
Placements: As of now, 50% of students are in phase 1 placements and about 20-30% are preparing for UPSC/CAT/higher studies or startups. Every year nearly 85% of students are placed. The highest average goes in crores, like 1-2 crore, but only a few students get these packages. The average package is 17 LPA, while the minimum package is 9-10 LPA. While 50% of students get internships from the college, the rest manage to get off-campus internships. Top recruiters are Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Amazon, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Wipro, McKinsey, Bain & Co, BCG, HUL, Reliance, etc.
Infrastructure: IIT Delhi has good infrastructure as hostels and classrooms have every facility. The whole campus has Wi-Fi. The college has a central library which has around 7,000 books and 90,000 journals in hardcopy and softcopy. It has a sports complex, hospital, an auditorium (Dogra Hall), open-air theatre, seminar hall, and lecture hall complex where all lectures are held. The lecture halls have classrooms of different capacities depending on the batch size. The hostel has 1, 2, and 3-seater rooms with all basic things like B.Ed table, chair, and cupboard provided. Every hostel has a gym. The mess food is average.
Faculty: Some professors are not approachable and quite strict, but some professors are very friendly and helpful. IIT Delhi has some of the best faculty in chemical engineering as well as other courses in terms of knowledge and experience. The teaching quality is average, but students cannot rely completely on classes, and self-study is important. The curriculum is quite good and well-planned. Every branch has various labs and projects that make the students industry-ready. The academics and exams are tough and hectic, as sometimes students have 3 exams in a day. The pass percentage varies in every course.
Other: At the time of JoSAA counselling, I did not have much idea about branches and their curriculum. I just wanted to get into IIT Delhi and chemical engineering, so I had to choose a branch according to my rank in JEE, and chemical engineering was a decent branch with good scope in the core, so I chose this branch. Other than this, the campus life here is amazing. Every year, 4-5 fests are organised at the college where many celebrities are hosted. Every year, there are inter-IIT and inter-hostel sports meets, cultural meets, etc.

IIT Delhi - Dream college of every JEE aspirant.
Placements: Approximately 85% of students were placed from the passing-out batch. The highest package was about 72 LPA, and the average package varies from about 17-24 LPA depending on the year and recession. Approximately 55% of students landed internships from our batch, and top recruiters were 2CentsCapital, Piramal, Dr. Reddy Pharma, IOCL, GAIL, SAIL, BAIN, McKinsey, etc., for the roles of Quant Developer, Core Engineer, Consultant, etc.
Infrastructure: The academic infrastructure is well-versed and of international standards, but one might get disappointed by the hostels if you end up in older hostels such as Shivalik and Vindhyachal. Rest, you get a free medical hospital and Mittal Sports Complex with world-class sports facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable, but sometimes you might come across bad teachers despite their high knowledge. I personally believe the course component is a little bit old and needs to be revamped. The semester exams are really very tough, but passing is not too difficult.
Other: I feel many of us choose the course because of our ranks, not because of what we want to study. Although what I like about IIT is it offers you the flexibility to take courses from other departments as well. The rest—events, crowd, Hauz Khas area, ECAs—everything is at par with the best you can get in India.

Good infrastructure but the education policy is very bad .
Placements: According to my seniors eight to ninty percent of the total students gets placement. Most of the student get placed in teach companies and some of the student get placed in core but the lower branches placement rate is quite low. Average package of my course is 20 Lacs.
Infrastructure: Our hostel facilities are average. There are 3 persons in one room in the first and second year and the size of room are not very big. Facilities of our department are good the labs are very well-equipped there are many apparatus to perform lab experiments.
Faculty: All the lectures are in English so we have to face problem to understand them and they have their own pace so we have to study by ourselves. The semester exam are moderate to tough but the problem is we had to study by ourselves and this thing took a lot of time.

I strongly disagree with the hectic schedule of IIT Delhi.
Placements: The percentage of students who are placed in chemical engineering is around 81% as of last year. The highest package is around 50 LPA, and the average package is around 50 LPA. Top companies are like Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Facebook and many more. The percentage of students who got internship from my course is around 70% to 80%. Roles are assigned according to students knowledge. Some got manager posts, some in the IT department.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are good. The lecture hall complex is uniquely designed and there are separate labs for different departments. My department has a separate building for labs and experiments. There is Wi-Fi in each class room. The facilities available in the hostel are good. There is a lawn and basketball court and gym. There are also dance rooms and TV rooms available. There is a sports complex on campus.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. They teach very well. They are very supportive and helpful. The course curriculum is relevant. The exams in IIT Delhi are quite difficult compared to other IITs, and there are quizzes between the two main exams.
Other: I chose this course because, as we know, the teaching field is in danger because of AI, so I chose chemical engineering because of the core sector. The average package is around 20 LPA, so I was satisfied by this course. Rendezvous IITD is a fest held at IIT Delhi after the middle of the semester.

My college is very good in most of aspect.
Placements: In IIT Delhi placements are quite often in our branch more than 80 percentage of students get placed with a decent package and other students go for startups or off campus placement or for higher education very few students remain unplaced so the placement rate of our college is very good.
Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is very decent all rooms got range of Wi-Fi there is full fledged library from where we can borrow books for semester and the food served in the mess is very decent and of good quality at the end our college infrastructure is very good and all equipments of labs are available.
Faculty: Faculty is good but most of the student face difficult to understand the professors so they prefer to study by themselves. All the lectures are in English language so many students face difficulties to understand and academics are generally very tough.

Q:   Does class 12 marks matter in the eligibility criteria of IIT JAM?
A:

The eligibility requirements for IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) did not involve a minimum percentage or marks in Class 12 for the majority of participating institutes. The eligibility criteria for IIT JAM are largely concerned with the bachelor's degree and the minimum marks or CGPA necessary to secure in that degree.

Candidates for the IIT JAM must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55 per cent aggregate or 5.5 CGPA/CPI. Apart from it, candidates also need to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admissions. Candidates found unfit to pursue his/her science course can be denied admission by the admitting institute.

For the most up-to-date information, consult the official IIT JAM website or the information brochure.

Q:   Will I be allotted a merit rank if I don't meet cut-off marks for Part A in UCEED?
A:

The Part A cut-off marks will be used to shortlist candidates. Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only for shortlisted candidates. So, if the candidate fails to meet the qualifying cut-off criteria, his or her Part B answer boolets will not be evaluated. Consequently, the candidate will not be assigned a merit rank. It may be noted that to participate in the UCEED 2025 counseling process, the candidate needs to have a merit rank. The cut-off marks for Part A will be released around the 2nd week of February 2025.
