IIT Delhi admission is entrance-based for all the programmes (Except for PG Diploma). For the diploma course, selection is done merit-basis. Candidates who have passed Class 12 can apply for the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi undergraduate courses. More details around the admission process of some of the courses are provided below:
- Candidates, who have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with an aggregate of 75% or above, can appear for JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced and JoSAA Counselling to seek BTech admission at IIT Delhi.

Candidates applying to a MSc course in IIT Delhi must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. Thus, aspirant must hold a valid bachelor's degree in a relevant stream for at least two years (four semesters) and a minimum aggregate between 55% and 80% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.
For MSc cognitive science/economic courses, the accepted degrees are BA/BSc/BCom/BTech/BE/BStat/BMath or equivalent. The total course fee for MSc course is ranges between INR 30K and INR 3 lakh.
Students seeking admission to BDes course (Bachelor of Design) at IIT Delhi are required to sit for UCEED exam 2023. UCEED releases qualifying cutoff in the form of mean deviation and standard deviation. Appearing in UCEED 2023 or being on the admission rank list does not guarantee admission to IIT Delhi BDes courses.
Candidates who have passed UCEED 2023 must apply separately to the UCEED participating institute for BDes admission. Apart from passing the UCEED exam, the candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria, category certificates and other documents, as well as the UCEED score, to be verified by IIT Delhi.

The course outline of mechanical in IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay is similar and is quite well aligned with the course structure of top ranked international universities and the mechanical is one of the most desired and demanded branches in the IITs. No, admission to the IIT Delhi courses is entrance-based, except for PG Diploma course. There is no provision for direct admission. No, IIT Delhi has separate hostels for Boys and Girls. There are no co-ed hostels. The institute has no tolerance policy for the same. Boys can only visit the girls' hostel visitor’s room and vice-versa. On house days, the institute may allow students to visit other hostels.

The JEE Advanced cutoff for 2025 has been released for Round 1. For BTech in Chemical Engineering, the JEE Advanced last round closing ranks were 2548 and 2464 for IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, respectively, for the students belonging to the General AI quota. For CSE admission at IIT Gandhinagar, the last round closing rank stood at 2020. With 98.28 percentile in JEE first attempt, you can get admission branches, such as ECE, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering in DTU, NSUT, IITD, and NIT Delhi.
