Jamia Millia Islamia, M.A. HRM .
Placements: Till now, students have been placed in various organizations. The average package is 8 LPA, and the top recruitment companies are Mother Dairy, Vedanta, and L&T. Almost 100% of the internships are provided by reputable companies. The top role offered is the HR Recruiter role.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent compared to the fee. We have our own library and superb classroom facilities. The hostel facilities are excellent for the price we are paying. The canteen food is nice and hygienic as well. There is a hospital on campus, and there is also a sports complex.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, and we achieved excellent CGPA. The teachers are highly capable, and each one has a unique teaching style with a great approach. We also have external faculty for extended lectures. The semesters are moderate, and if you are an average student, you can score well.
Other: The course is excellent, but the placement opportunities are not that great. However, if you compare the fee and the curriculum of the course, it is worth the money. The campus crowd is nice.

    Review of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Placements: In my department, many students get placed in respective organisations. Renowned organisation visit our college every year to recruit students like Vidanta, Trident Group, Empower Pragati, etc. The placement process is held in three rounds. In the first round, interested students are given a topic to write. 2nd round is a group discussion and the third is a personal interview.
Infrastructure: Everything is good here. It provides different kinds of seminars and different departments organise seminars related to their subjects. I attended many seminars on sociology. Hostel rooms are good, which come on a sharing basis. For undergraduate students, 3 sharing rooms are allotted whereas for masters and PhD students, 2 sharing rooms are available. There are two campuses for boys hostels with 6 hostels altogether. The students taking capacity is around 400. Hostels are tough to get and we need to have a good academic background to get a hostel, and normally points are given on the basis of academic background.
Faculty: The syllabus is according to the needs of the current scenario with a wide variety of subjects from the fundamentals level to the advanced level. The fieldwork is an integral part of the curriculum, so the students are allotted 2 organizations in the entire course, one for each year with different fieldwork objectives for each semester to get the students equipped with the round reality. Faculty members are the best in their fields. The head of the courses are gold medallists from their time and impart a knowledge unparalleled which gets one to love the subjects.

University campus is very large and has a lush green garden.
Placements: The placement in my college is higher, at 10 Lacs. On-campus placements are good, offering up to 10 Lacs, with a minimum of 5 Lacs. Regarding field placements, they are well-organized. Many companies offer placements in our college, and big offers are provided to students.
Infrastructure: There are many types of clubs and societies available in Jamia, like IEEE, GDSC, ASME, TRS, ASCE, etc., which allow students to develop in all aspects of life. Quite a good range of extracurricular activities is available as well. Hostel facilities in Jamia are totally based on "jugaad"; you can only get into the hostel if you have some kind of source in the college. The hostel facility is quite good, and the food provided is better than in other colleges. Plenty of flats are available in Batla House and Zakir Nagar for rent.
Faculty: The government engineering college study level is very powerful. The courses are completed within a time period, and faculty for subjects like Physics, Maths, and others are very active. However, sometimes the faculty do not work properly in matters like scholarships and other administrative tasks.

Want to become a development extensionist.
Placements: From the batch that passed out in 2022, almost 60% of students were placed. Top recruiting companies were Bachpan Bachao Andolan, Kailash Satyarthi Children Foundation, and Etasha Society. Every student is placed by the department for fieldwork in the 2nd year in different NGOs.
Infrastructure: Basic facilities provided by the department are free Wi-Fi, an in-built library, a purified water facility, spacious classrooms, a garden, and corridors. Hostel is pretty good. Food available in the canteen is also nice. All students of Jamia get free medical services.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good, and every concept is taught in a very simple, easy-to-understand language. Course curriculum is highly relevant to the development area and prepares students to be industry-ready. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, with a pass percentage of 98%-100%.
Other: I chose this course because it provides on-ground fieldwork, allowing students to understand the real-life challenges of society. I received a position scholarship from Jamia Millia Islamia.

    Review of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Placements: Among our senior batches, that is, 2024 passouts, only one got campus placement. I am not sure about the packages offered for his post. But three seniors got appointed as research interns in good companies. The placement percentage was very low last year from M.A. Economics. This year we are expecting more placements because this year the department has a centralized placement cell for 2 PG courses and one graduate course. Our department has another course called M.Sc. Banking and Financial Analytics; it is a corporate-oriented course and last year almost all got placed in that course. In my batch, around six to seven people did placement during last summer vacation.
Infrastructure: In the department we have a library, a model classroom and a computer lab. Wi-Fi is available in both campus and hostel (in hostel the Wi-Fi connection for the upper three floors was done on last two weeks back). The hostel room is comfortable for me—three people in a room with a separate bed, study table, study lamps, curtains, mirrors, two fans and a pretty big shelf. During summer, we can buy and set coolers if we prefer that and we also need to pay an extra electricity charge for the same. Food was fine for the first year, but now I feel like eating the same foods, which didn't seem good at times. We had to eat read and utter for four days as breakfast and if we take lunch packs most of the days, Chapati and Subji will be there. It is difficult to eat dry chapati in the afternoon. To be honest, dinner will be nice. We get chicken four days and they try to change the recipes also, which makes us happy.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and qualified. They give us space to present our ideas, submit assignments, engage in different workshops, seminars, etc. They ask us to read a lot. Different articles and papers. We do group discussions in classes too. The course curriculum is relevant as they try to bring both the needs of corporate jobs and research jobs parallel in our syllabus. We have theory papers and labs where we learn software like R, Reviews, Spss, etc. At the same time, the quantitative part is also there in the syllabus. We have CBCS paper and optional paper too. The semester exams are not very difficult. For the first semester, it was too difficult for me. But gradually it becomes a bit easy compared to the first exam. The pass percentage I can say will be approximately 82%.
Other: The office work is pretty easy in the department because all the departments have their own office staff to deal with the paper work. The approachability of professors is high. The department conducts different events. Among them, the major events are the department sports meet, the department fest called "Ecocracy," and the alumni meet. Apart from this, we conducts Vigilance Awareness Week Observance, Foundation day celebrations, corporate lecture series, conferences, etc.

Highly supportive faculty members, hands-on experience in the NGO sector and a peaceful campus.
Placements: There are no placements for my course in JMI. But the students usually find some fellowships or jobs with the help of the department and some of the students are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. also. They also look for jobs in allied sectors such as public policy and sustainability.
Infrastructure: There are Wi-Fi and lab facilities in the department. However, the facilities in the lab and the course teaching method are obsolete. The hostel is so nice with a vibrant academic community and reading halls. The rooms are big, neat and tidy. The food is also better than PGs.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful, especially if you want to go to the research/NGO field. The course curriculum is relevant but the method of teaching does not comply with modern technologies. The teachers are still following the obsolete way of teaching, which is boring.
Other: The course is good if you want to get employed in an NGO or to get into a Ph.D. in similar disciplines.

Yes, Mathematics is a compulsory subject for JMI BTech admission. As BTech courses offered at this university are in the specialisations that require applicants to have a foundational understanding of the course. Thus, completing HSC with PCM is necessary for enrollment.
