Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) is a public university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was established in 1998 by the West Bengal Government. MAKAUT provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, technology, and allied sciences. MAKAUT is also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

MAKAUT is a premier public university located in Salt Lake, Kolkata. MAKAUT University accepts both merit and entrance based exam scores. The university conducts CET exam in June for admission to courses such as BSc, MSc, BBA and BCA courses. MAKAUT conducts JEMAT for admission to MBA and MHA courses. It also accepts a few other state/ national-level entrance exams such as WBJEE, PGET, UGC NET (including JRF)/ CSIR NET for admission to UG, PG and doctoral-level programmes.
