Average college with faculty, infrastructure, placements 2026, and good library.
Placements: 30 percent of students got placed in our course. Bavistech, Cognizant, and TCS are the top recruiting companies. TCS offered the top role, which is Prime. The highest package is 9 LPA, the lowest package is 2.4 LPA, and the average is 3.5 LPA. 15 percent of students got internships from our course, in Bavistech, Cognizant, and Utah Tech Labs.
Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped, and lab faculty is also well-trained in what they are doing. The library is something that we as students love the most, it has all the books, journals, newspapers, and books for exams like GATE. The staff of the library is well-behaved and very cooperative with students. Classrooms are not maintained properly, even the fans in our class are not enough in number. There is no Wi-Fi on our campus, only in the library is Wi-Fi available. Overall, the college's infrastructure has become old, and it is not maintained properly.
Faculty: When I first joined college, there were teachers who were really good. But because of some internal conflict, they left college. Some teachers have very good knowledge of subjects, but some don't possess enough knowledge to teach. Most teachers are helpful and supportive. Our college follows the syllabus of MAKAUT, which is very old and outdated. It has not been changed in decades, like what people were learning in 2007, we are also learning the same thing. Semester exams are not very difficult, but paper checking is terrible. The university gives random marks.
Other: I chose this course because in 2020-2022 the IT industry was at its peak and I thought if I could join Engineering, I could get a decent job in the IT sector. The best thing about our course is that the people I met are really nice, and the exposure that I got in this course is something that I will remember throughout my life. The changes that could be made in the course would be to make the syllabus more relevant to the industry level. Plenty of events are conducted throughout the week. There are 4 different clubs, and they are responsible for conducting the fest. A total of 2 fests are conducted by a single club 1 small and 1 big. The campus is connected with railway, metro, and bus service, but not very much around campus. SVMCM scholarship is provided by the WB government.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026
Offered by Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College

If you take admission in RKMGEC, take a look at these points first.
Placements: 20% of the students in my course, Mechanical Engineering, were placed in the 2025–2026 session. The student who got the highest package got 8 LPA. The student who got the lowest package got 3 LPA. The top recruiting company this year was Wipro, where most students were placed. Very few students, around 5%, got internships. Top roles are teaching roles.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are moderate. Hostel facilities are good, with 24-hour electricity, good food, and enough playgrounds. Medical facilities need to be improved. The only thing about the hostels is that there are hostel facilities only for 3rd-year and 4th-year students. 1st-year and 2nd-year students have to live outside the campus, where the charges are pretty high for facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are good. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum lacks recent upgrades, and students need to put in extra effort to be industry-ready. Semester exams are somewhat moderate. They are not too easy and not too difficult. The pass percentage has improved and is around 60–70%.
Other: Mechanical is the mother of all branches. It consists of knowledge of all branches. That's the reason I chose it. Practical knowledge would improve the course to a greater level. Fests are good. Events are average. The campus crowd is somewhat good, I think. Connectivity is poor. The campus surroundings are poor if you want a happening campus. It's good if you want a peaceful and village lifestyle. Scholarships are good, actually. Extracurricular activities are moderate to poor. You get good social circles to play sports like football, cricket, volleyball, and badminton, but they are not taken seriously for competitions.

Overall, nice and average placement percentage.
Placements: Almost every student gets a placement. So far, I have seen the highest package from Microsoft at 52 LPA. The lowest was 8 LPA. Top recruitments were from Microsoft, Airtel, Amazon, Google, etc. I have seen 10–15 LPA on average if we talk about the salary.
Infrastructure: I don't live in a hostel. But the college campus is quite well maintained. The plants are watered daily. They do maintenance periodically. Not much can be said about the Wi-Fi because only the Wi-Fi in the office room works well. Otherwise, it is always very slow. Food quality is average, but I think there is a lack of hygiene.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Most of them behave very well and calmly. Except for a few faculty members, they are very knowledgeable. Students are not made directly industry-ready here. They don't provide that level of quality education. Semester exams happen under MAKAUT. They are very strict during exams. They follow the guidelines very strictly.
Other: Personally, I always wanted to study Computer Science. That's why I'm studying this course. This college is also in my own city, and overall, they are good. Our college also arranges fests. The annual fest is very enjoyable in our college every year. They don't provide any kind of scholarships. Extracurricular activities like sports are arranged.

If you have average marks and have not been selected for some prestigious college, choose this.
Placements: Every student is made to do a mandatory internship in the 5th semester. Companies like Infosys, TCS, and Capgemini come every year and offer top roles like Data Analyst. The highest package last year was 11 LPA, and the average package was below 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: The food provided is very good, with a homemade mess. Labs and libraries of the academy are professional. The staff does their job and does not harass any student, unlike other colleges. There is a zero-ragging environment and strict anti-ragging laws, which are signed by the students in the 1st semester.
Faculty: Teachers have been teaching at the college for more than a decade. They understand the needs of students. The semester exams are mildly difficult. Teachers provide the entire syllabus well in advance and prepare students properly for exams. The curriculum is a little outdated.
Other: Every year, there is a freshers' party, an Acceptus, a sporting tournament of one month, and many fashion and social events on campus.

TMSL is an above-average college.
Placements: Placement opportunities for students with DGPA above 7, considering good communication skills, are available. The highest package of last year was 8.5 LPA, whereas the lowest was 1.5 LPA. Companies come for sales, marketing, HR, and operations roles. Internships are also available for eligible students on campus.
Infrastructure: The college has air-conditioned classrooms. There is a good library and computer labs with internet and Wi-Fi on the campus. There are many sports and extracurricular activities organised for students. The campus is clean and nice and helps the students a lot. In short, the college has very good infrastructure and is helpful for education and overall development of the students.
Faculty: The faculty is competent but varies in terms of teaching abilities. The programme is more focused on learning the basics of management and business, so students will need to learn new skills outside of the classroom. Semester exams are not difficult, and it is relatively easy for a student who attends classes to pass the semester.
Other: The admin office can be a bit rude sometimes.

The college is overall good.
Placements: Approximately more than 80 percent of students got placed in the current year. The highest package this year is 12 LPA in CSE. For CSE, recruiting companies are Accenture, Amazon, TCS, Capgemini, Wipro, Infosys, etc. Many students got internships in many IITs and NITs, overall good, but skills matter. CSE HOD is not good, but except him, all faculty is good.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Hostel facilities are good. The lab is also good. Wi-Fi facility is available for students. The food quality is also good. Mess facility is available. A canteen is also available and provides the best food quality. Sports and games are also available.
Faculty: The teachers are good and have good teaching skills. Teachers give their best. They are very supportive. Lab teachers are all good. They easily explain every experiment. The semester exams are easy for every student if they prepare themselves perfectly.
