It is a great campus with good infrastructure and decent placements.

Placements: I'm from B.Tech Civil Engineering, and my passing out batch is 2024. The placement percentage is 60%. The highest package is 18 LPA, the lowest package is 4 LPA, and the average package is 6-7 LPA. The top recruiters are L&T, Tata Projects, JSW, BYJU'S, Vedanta, and G R Infraprojects. 70% of students get internships. The companies for internships are L&T, Tata Projects, DRDO, NHAI, CPWD, and Private Consultancies. The top roles offered are site engineer, design engineer, project engineer, analyst, and management trainee.

Infrastructure: In our department, there are labs for every subject in our course. They are good, but some equipment is old. Wi-Fi is good with a 5G network, but sometimes there are issues, and it doesn’t work. Classrooms are in good condition with all the facilities provided. The library is stocked with books.

Faculty: Most professors are Ph.D. holders and very knowledgeable. Teachers are quite good in their subjects, and there is no problem with their qualifications. But, our curriculum is old until this batch; after our batch, it will be updated. The pass percentage is about 30%, and the exams are relatively good.

Other: I chose this course because I want to become a civil engineer. I want to help in the development of infrastructure in our country, that's why I chose this course. There are two big events in our college every year, one is a technical event named "Nimbus" and the other is a cultural event called "Hill'ffair". Our campus is very beautiful, and there are many extracurricular activities in our college, including sports, technical, and cultural events.

This is one of the better colleges if you want to pursue engineering in Himachal Pradesh.

Placements: Placements are decent—not too fancy, but not bad either. In my department, the placements were slightly below average last year. In the anti-penultimate year, they improved a bit. The packages started at 5 LPA and went up to nearly 10-12 LPA. Top recruiters included JSW and a few others.

Infrastructure: The labs and classrooms are quite good. The library is well-equipped with books on every topic. However, the quality of the hostel is, on the other hand, a bit average. Some of the hostel rooms are good, while others are somewhat worse. The mess food can also be considered a bit average.

Faculty: The professors are highly qualified, with each having numerous research papers to their credit. The curriculum is reasonably good, although some topics may seem irrelevant in the broader context. The difficulty of exams varies significantly depending on the subject.

Average placement, good infrastructure, and faculty.

Placements: 72% of students in the civil engineering branch at NIT Hamirpur (my college) secure placements. The highest package is 9 lakh per annum, and the average package is 7 lakh per annum. A lot of students get internships from various companies around the country, and many opt for higher studies from various colleges.

Infrastructure: The food is quite good, but cleanliness is a bit of an issue. There are many dogs in the hostel that protect us from monkeys and are very friendly. The mess workers are very polite and kind, and the gatekeepers are also very humble. There is proper checking of the items you carry with you to the hostel.

Faculty: Teachers are polite,helpful, well-qualified, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. They teach in a simple, easy-to-understand way that makes us industry-ready. The difficulty of semester exams is moderate, and the pass percentage depends on the subject.

The college has good infrastructure.

Placements: In my course, about 70-80% of students who sit for placements get placed in prestigious organizations and companies. In my department specifically, they get an average package of 7-8 lacs and this is also for the core branches like mechanical and electrical.

Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi facilities in our hostels, labs, classrooms, and also at the library. We get a menu of different types of and every day it also includes fruit. We have a good number of sports including volleyball, basketball, football, snooker, etc. There is a whole building dedicated to medical facilities.

Faculty: Specifically talking about my department, some teachers are understanding and helpful. Some teach very well and soulfully. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are usually from the given syllabus and from the notes that the teacher is told to make during the lectures. The passing percentage is 45%.

Other: I chose the course because I've cleared the JEE exam and got an option of NIT Hamirpur. My college conducts different fests, hackathons, and many more extracurricular activities.

All good but water scarcity is there.

Placements: 64.2% of the batch is placed in civil engineering, as civil engineering is less valuable without a master's degree. The highest salary this year is 9.50 LPA, and the median is 8.25 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Larsen & Toubro and Capgemini. I am not aware of the percentage of students who got internships in civil engineering.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average due to water scarcity in the hostel. A huge library is provided, with big classrooms and average meals in the mess. There are 5-6 canteens at different locations on campus. A hospital inside the campus provides free care. There is a huge ground and a Student Activity Centre for physical activities.

Faculty: The faculty is moderate. The course is relevant, but mechanical workshops are the only technical aspect. Teachers are highly qualified, helpful, and interactive with students. They are always ready to address students' doubts and help them. The passing marks for the end-of-semester exam are a minimum of 15 out of 50, and a total of 40 marks out of 100 are needed to pass the course.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory Subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects in year 2023, 2024 conducted by respective Boards. Candidates should have secured the mentioned marks in the Class 12th examination or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12th examination conducted by respective Boards. Candidates who are appearing in the Class 12th / equivalent examination in 2025 irrespective of their age, are also eligible. Note: List of qualifying examination(QE): i). The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc. ii). Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University. iii). Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy iv). Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects. v). Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). vi). Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination. vii). A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration. viii).
