The natural beauty of NIT Hamirpur is so awesome. You will love it.

Placements: About 80% to 90% of the students of the ECE branch have been placed in different core and tech companies like Google, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Atlassian, Samsung, Nvidia, etc. 68 LPA is the highest package offered for two students in the ECE branch, the average package is around 18 LPA, and the lowest package is 6 LPA. But overall, the highest package is around 2 crore per annum offered to an MNC branch student in game development. The CSE branch average package is 27 LPA in 2025. Around 30% to 40% of my branch students got internships.

Infrastructure: If you are a fresher, then your hostel is KBH (Kailash Boys Hostel). Hostels are so awesome, but you will see some monkeys. Monkeys are not as harmful as you think. The one thing is that there are three to four LAN cables in each room. If your LAN is not working, then you can also use Wi-Fi, which is very fast and unlimited. The library is also open for you, but till 8:00 PM in the first year. When you become a senior, you will get HBH hostel and library up to 12:00 AM. All classrooms have a digital board.

Faculty: Teachers are well educated and taught everything, but not the details, so you can rely on the professors only. Some of your efforts also involve the exams. The course curriculum is relevant for all the branches, but if you want to go in tech, then you must also study. Semester exams are so easy. The only thing you need is to prepare for exams for a week only, and all the time you can spend to learn other skills. To pass any course, you have to get 40% of the total marks.

Other: There is a scope of the semiconductor industry in the past years. Nearly all the tech companies allow you to sit in the interview for tech fields. Hillfair is an annual fest that is conducted around Diwali. This is conducted on the ground. You will enjoy so much with the top singer of Himachal. So many scholarships are available that you can fill, but at a time, you can only fill one. If you have knowledge of how to fill out a scholarship or which is better for you, then go to the student welfare office. All the information about the scholarships they provide.

NIT Hamirpur College review.

Placements: The placement records are outstanding, with the highest package offered being 1.2 crore per annum. Many well-known organizations come for placement drives and internship programs. As expected, the strongest students are the ones getting the top offers. Apart from placement, the college also offers good information and learning opportunities.

Infrastructure: The hostel and mess are good enough to manage. Wi-Fi is available in classrooms, and LAN is available in hostel rooms. We can get anything you want on campus only. Classrooms are well-ventilated, and every classroom has a projector. There is a big stadium for cricket and football, and an indoor stadium for badminton.

Faculty: Faculty members are good. You need to be regular in classes. Almost all are passing the exams. The syllabus here is somewhat random dots; we need to connect them to become industry-ready. Semester exams are at a good level; you need to prepare well to pass the semester exams.

My review of NIT Hamirpur - National Institute of Technology.

Placements: 90% of students get placed in our college. The highest salary is 52 LPA in my course, and the lowest is 7 LPA. Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon, TCS, and Infosys are prominent in our college. About 70% of students got internships in their third year. Most of these companies are tech firms.

Infrastructure: Facilities are not good at our time, no AC, no cooler, Wi-Fi is so bad, and classrooms are also bad. But in recent times, things have changed and are renovated. Sports and games are good with all equipments. Hostel facilities are not very good. Food quality is also bad.

Faculty: Faculty members are one of the worst. The curriculum also feels outdated over the years. Teachers are rude and egoistic. There is hardly any time to study the immense exam schedules. Overall, there is very little time for gaining other skills like coding and programming.

A very beautiful college campus.

Placements: The placement percentage of students in our course was nearly 100%. The highest package offered in our course was 32 LPA. The average package was around 9-10 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Accenture, IBM, L&T Infotech, Infosys, and many more.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course were extremely good. Hamirpur is a clean and eco-friendly district. There are 4 separate hostels, each for boys and girls. A sports facility was present. Guest rooms, LED TVs, Water coolers, geysers, etc, were also available.

Faculty: The teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of our faculty members was extremely awesome. The course curriculum was relevant. Students were under the supervision of faculty members. The semester examination was a little tough. The academic was so busy.

The college is overall good.

Placements: Around 80% of students are placed in electronics and communication engineering. According to last year's data, the highest package is 49 lacs per annum. The average was 13 lacs per annum. The lowest package was around 8 lacs per annum. Top recruiters companies are Wipro, Deloitte, Infosys, Consulting, Accenture, Strategy, etc. Around 90% of students got an internship in this course.

Infrastructure: Our department has facilities such as a library, internet service, digital library, well-maintained labs, well-furnished classrooms, etc. Hostels for boys are decent, and it varies from student to student. Mess food is good, and sometimes the food quality may be poor, but overall it's good. Our college also has a medical facility available 24/7. For sports, a sports complex is there, which has all kinds of indoor and outdoor sports.

Faculty: We have well-qualified faculty members. All have done their master's and Ph.D. from reputed IITs. You can expect no less than an IIT here. Our main subject teachers teach on another level (EDC, LIC, MPMC, DCD). The teachers are very friendly and helpful and will solve any of your problems, be they in your social life, academic life, love life, or others. The course makes you industry-ready, provided that you study some things on your own.

Very good college ever seen.

Placements: Placements for the batch 2024-25 for Electronics and Communication batch are among the best. Apart from the regular visitors, there are many new recruiters, including Airtel and Zomato. The batch of 500 students is placed, with some students receiving two to three company offers. The highest package is offered by Amazon, which is 36 LPA, whereas the lowest is from mass recruiters like Tata. The average package has risen from 8 LPA to 11.2 LPA.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility has a speed of 18-20 Mbps. Labs are good, but lab sessions are not conducted really well. A new library is under construction, and it will have about 1 lakh books, which is very good for students who are fond of reading. The medical facilities are quite okay. The quality of food is not so good, but it can be better. Hostels are good. The old hostels are very bad, but the new ones are good.

Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They believe in practical learning. Theoretical knowledge from classes is supplemented in laboratories. Faculty-to-student ratio is around 2:65. During my studies, we went on a class visit to Tehri Dam to understand structures and design of the dam. It is very useful. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Placements: Placements were good. In 2024, 85% of students get placed. The average package was 9.85 LPA and the highest package was 1.85 crore per annum from the computer science department. Placements in electronics and communication engineering were also good. Overall, placements were good.

Infrastructure: All facilities are available in the hostel and on campus. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel and campus. The infrastructure in the institute is excellent. Sports facilities in the hostel include volleyball, football, cricket, table tennis, badminton, etc. The mess food is also good. The gym facilities are also good.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. Most faculty members are PhD holders. They teach very well and cover topics thoroughly. I am in the electronics and communication engineering department and in the first year. Syllabus for the first year is the same for all engineering students. Therefore, I do not know much about our course curriculum, as the main subjects will start in the second year.

As it is an NIT, getting admission would be quite difficult there as you don't have any quota except the home state one. I can not say for sure that you will be able to get admission into ECE. Which branch can I get with 12620 rank in JEE Mains?

Depends on what college you want admission into. You can get into a lot of NITs with that rank, mainly you will be able to get branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil. Cut off for CSE and ECE is generally very low for NITs so chances you get those branches are low, but you can hope to get one

Hi Tanishq, 75% marks in +12 is required to get admission in NIT's and IIT's. Try looking for other good colleges which do not require the 75% criteria. Colleges which look for both JEE + board marks collectively. Good luck!
