Satisfied with college facilities, placements, infrastructure, and events and fests.
Placements: Almost all students get placed. The placement percentage is more than 95%. The highest package offered is 1.2 crores per annum, and the lowest package offered is 3.3 LPA. The average package offered is 13 LPA. Several big tech giants come for recruiting, along with core companies as well. A few companies that hire students are Microsoft, ExxonMobil, ONGC, Deloitte, Adobe, Texas Instruments, etc. Around 90% of students also got internships in core companies like BPCL Research internships at BARC or IITs, technical internships at Microsoft, etc. The top roles offered are management trainee, graduate engineer trainee, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of our college are fully developed. Classrooms are big and have smart screens for professors to teach on. There are separate departments as well for branches. Labs are also very good, and the equipment is in good condition. The library is very vast and has a spacious reading room along with Wi-Fi. The hostel rooms are in good condition. A LAN port is provided in every room. The mess and canteen food are good as well. Medical and sports facilities are good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very decent to good. The course curriculum is relevant, and it also makes students industry-ready to face challenges ahead. Semester exams are difficult for a few branches, while they are easy for a few others. Overall, it is a bit difficult to score good marks in exams. The pass percentage is good. Many students pass the examination.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in it. The course has topics like fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, MTO, etc. Labs are one of the good things about this course. A few things I would like to improve about this course are to make it less vast and hectic for students. The college conducts various fests in every semester to keep students engaged. There are sports events as well, which are super thrilling. The campus crowd is good as top rankers come here. Campus surroundings are great too.

Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: I am currently in my first year, so I don't have much on-ground idea, but from my seniors, I heard that around 12–13 LPA in my branch is considered a very good amount. In my branch, the highest package is around 30–35 LPA previous year. Almost all students get placed here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good in this college. For chemical engineering, there is a separate building. In the first year, classes are held in the lecture hall complex (LA-2), where the internet is very slow. Elsewhere, like in the computer lab and library, we get institute-provided network services. Hostel facilities are good and maintained properly. The mess is not up to the mark, but the food is edible. Every hostel has canteens and stationery shops. For medical facilities, a hospital is available inside the campus. Almost all sports and games are available here. Two grounds and many courts for games are there.
Faculty: Teachers are very humble and dedicated to their work. The course is comparatively difficult and hectic. It is much relevant and makes ready for the industry. Semester exams are a bit difficult, and strong action is taken against students found cheating. The pass percentage is around 95–96% in the first two semesters.
Other: I chose this course because I’m more interested in chemicals and technology and in emerging fields like EVs, etc. There are lots of fests held at this college, and this is the most interesting part. Scholarships are available by applying to the state government scholarship portals (for home state students), NES portals, and various private scholarships by companies.

The faculty and placements are the best.
Placements: At the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, 82% to 90% of students are placed in various courses, including B.Tech and MBA. The highest package offered is 83.60 LPA, the minimum package is 2.60 LPA, and the average package is 11.15 LPA.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is not much great, but labs, classrooms, and library are good. The hostel is also good, and the medical facilities, sports, and games are excellent. The mess food is not that great, but there are many nice canteens. Overall, my rating for the college is 4 out of 5.
Faculty: In our college, the teaching quality is nice, the course curriculum is the best, and the quality of question papers is good. Some question papers are difficult, but the experienced faculty's teaching is excellent. But the new faculty members need to improve their teaching. Overall, the faculty is the best.
Other: Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarships, extracurricular activities, etc., are the best.

Honest review of the college I study in.
Placements: I'm in chemical engineering branch and recruiting companies are BPCL, Pidilite, and ONGC. Placement is 100% if students are eligible for placement. Role offered is officer grade. Many companies like Delloite and Accenture offer a maximum number of branch student to sit for interviews.
Infrastructure: Hostel is like government college rooms, not so high standard but in good condition. Rooms are little small according to different hostels, there are different sizes of rooms. Mess food quality is average, we use to taste meals here. There are more than 4 canteens where we can eat delicious food at a reasonable price. Restaurants of Rourkela offer 10% to 15% percent off for NIT students.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, but they lack in the way of teaching. Course curriculum is pressurized and during semester exam time we don't have time to study as we have to go to class even before two days of exams. Exams are of 3 hours duration at end-semester and 2 hours in mid-semester.
Other: If one wants to do engineering then its a good option here. There are many types of fests and diverse cultures, we enjoy here very much.

It is a very good college.
Placements: More than 80% of students got placed in our branch this year. In our department, the highest salary package offered as per the latest information is 31 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered ranges from 11-12 LPA. The average salary package offered is 13 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Reliance, ONGC, and some other core companies visit the college to hire students. This year very few students were able to get an internship.
Infrastructure: Our department is very well-equipped with lab instruments. It even provides a good area to perform our academic-related stuff. I am allotted at Vikram Sarabhai Hall of Residence, which is the only hostel for first-year students. The first-year students live with PhD scholars. In my opinion, rooms are not at all sufficient for two people to live in.
Faculty: Faculty members whom I have come across are decently good. First-year students are taught by assistant professors or associate professors. All the professors are from Odisha itself. They are well-qualified in their respective sectors, but there is an issue with English here. They do speak in English but it is hard for us to decode what they are telling.
Other: I personally chose this course because I found chemical engineering to be an interesting course. I also wanted to explore my area of interest in this particular course.

Chemical Engineering is way better than civil in NITK. People usually go for civil if they don't get any. Even if you are interested in civil, go for chemical in NITK. It is far better in placements and internships.
