B.Tech. in Ceramic Engineering - Batch of 2029

The college is good. It is equal to IIT level.
Placements: Approximately 80% students are placed. The highest package is 39 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 12 LPA. Many tech giants come for interviews. There are not many core opportunities. There are many top roles, but not in core. If a student is placed at a tech IT company, then only he or she gets SDE-level posts. Most jobs are junior-level employee roles.
Infrastructure: The college hostel facilities are great. Food is above average. The canteen is also above average. Medical facilities are very good here in NITR. Sports and games facilities are very good. There is a swimming pool present in NITR. The sports culture is very good, and a new indoor complex is also available.
Faculty: Faculty quality is average to good. Teachers are knowledgeable and skilled but difficult to learn from. The semester exams are very hectic. The pass percentage of students is around 70 percent.
Other: The branches are good. Events and everything are also good.

Good college, the best NIT in India.
Placements: Placement season starts from the end of the 6th semester and continues till the end of the 8th semester. Many of the students who get an on-campus internship offer get the pre-placement offer after their internships. Companies like Google, Texas Instruments, Oracle, Tata, Accenture, Fractal, PWC, ZS, etc. Come to our campus. The highest package is about 98 LPA, while the average is 12 LPA- 14 LPA across all the branches. More than 90 percent of the students sitting for the placements get placed.
Infrastructure: There is a good central library in our college. All the classrooms in the lecture halls have a blackboard and a smart board along with a projector. There are 2 stadiums inside the campus, a gymnasium in every hostel, a swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, and indoor sports in every hostel. There are over 50 clubs on campus for different things like coding, poetry, dramatics, etc. The hostel facility is okay. The boys' hostel is bigger than the girls' hostel. The food served is manageable.
Faculty: The faculty in our college is very well qualified. Most of them hold a Ph.D. from some prestigious universities abroad. We have 2 exams per semester. Midterms for 30 marks for each subject and end-terms for 50 marks. The remaining 20 marks out of 100 marks are internal and are given based on class performance and class tests. Each semester, we have 5 theory subjects and 3 practical labs. We have viva and practical exams for our practical subjects, and the professors also take regular class tests to assess our performance.

Very good college, top NIT college.
Placements: The placement of my college is very good. The college offers an average package of 12-13 LPA and a median package of 11 LPA. The highest package of my college is 84 LPA. The placement percentage is about 90 percent, but this year, due to the recession, the percentage is quite low. The top tech companies visit my college, like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Barclays.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure is good. There are many facilities like a gym, reading room, night and day canteen, book shop, badminton court, sports, everything. But the mess food is quite disappointing for me. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus with CCTV security. There are many cafeterias, restaurants, and malls inside the campus. There are many grounds for different sports. Classrooms are spacious and digitally updated. The library is good, and it is open 24 hours.
Faculty: Talking about the course, it is quite interesting. The exams are held every 2 months, one is a mid-semester exam, and the other is an end-of-semester exam. The faculty-to-student ratio is 10 students per faculty. The faculty members have vast experience in their field, and they are well educated and trained. You can easily go to their office and interact with them, or you can call or text them.

Ceramic Engineering Department at NIT Rourkela.
Placements: About 90% of students were placed in the last year. Average package was 13.98 LPA in my department. Last year, highest package was 1.2 crore in my college. Lowest package was 3 LPA. Top companies recruiting students of ceramic engineering are Tata Steel, JSW, Hindalco, Aditya Birla Group, and many more. About 70% of students secured an internship through the institute channel. Top roles offered are like materials engineering, quality analysis, process engineer, and many more.
Infrastructure: There are air-conditioned classrooms with smart boards. Campus has 24/7 internet access. Library is very extensive, with a large volume of books and access to online repositories and journals. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Therefore, double accommodation in a single room. Mess Food is average. Having veg and non-veg options.
Faculty: Professors of my department are widely equipped, holding PhDs from top institutions like IITs, and some are from international universities as well. Syllabus lagged behind the latest industry technology, and much of the content remains textbook-based unless students proactively take up an internship or project. Department holds industrial visits and seminars. It also has an active placement and internship cell. Exams are moderately difficult. Almost 90% of the students clear each semester.

About NIT Rourkela, B.Tech - Ceramic Engineering.
Placements: Placements at our college were very good. Around 70% of the students were placed in the top firms like Tata Steel, Aditya Birla, etc. The highest package was offered 14 LPA. The average package was 7 LPA. The lowest package was 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Department had decent classrooms/lecture halls. Hostel was well-managed and painted. The hostel was equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. Mess food was average and decent which was acceptable. The canteen had many kinds of food and types that were very good.
Faculty: The faculty members were well-educated. Many had PhD degrees. But the curriculum was a bit outdated so it's not industry-ready. Curriculum sticks to textbooks. The difficulty of exams was moderate and well. Passing percentage of the students was also good, around 80-90%.

National Institute of Technology Rourkela for B.Tech course admission in year 2025-26.
Placements: College has a placement cell. Many students are placed in companies. Best salary packages are offered by the company. 3 LPA to 8 LPA is the highest package that this college provides to the students.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are not available. There is a canteen and junk food is available but it is not tasty and healthy for the body. Medical and sports facilities are also provided by gymkhana committee.
Faculty: This college teachers are good and high quality teaching knowledge. This course has a total 5 to 7 teachers allocated for the syllabus and practical lecture. This course is total 4 years course duration and 7 semester exams allocated by both the university and college.
Other: College conducts freshers party for first year and taking admission in this course.

College of dreams.
Placements: Around 90% of students get placed in my course. The highest package is 32 LPA, and the lowest is 5 LPA. Top recruiter is Fractal. About 70% of students got internships (3rd year). Analytics and consulting roles are offered at the top of the list.
Infrastructure: The department is good, having all the amenities life Wi-Fi, AC, AC classrooms, library, and reading room. Hostel facility is also good. There are 11 hostels in which 7 are for boys, 3 for girls, and 1 for married couple. The mess food is average not so good, and not so bad.
Faculty: Faculty members are at top-levels. They are very well educated and from top colleges. They also teach very well. Language used to teach is English. There are two exams in 1 semester, mid-semester and end-semester. Mid-semester is doable but end-semester is quite tough.
Other: I chose this course because of my rank. Campus life is very good. It has a vast green campus. Google shows the campus size as 512 acres but in actually it is 1600 acres. The fests are good especially celebrity night.

Excellent infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Around 80% of students were placed in our course. The package offered in our course was not exactly like CSE branch but it's better at around 10 LPA. The highest package offered was 80 LPA. All students in our course got internship offers also.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for our course were extremely excellent. Labs were well-equipped with the required equipment. A huge library was also available. A huge collection of sports accessories was also present and a big playground. Food in the mess was also very good.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their respective domains of education. They taught us very kindly and perfectly easy to understand language. Course curriculum was relevant. Students became ready for industry jobs. Semester examination was a little tough.
