Life in National Institute of Technology Rourkela.
Placements: The placements for the Architecture department are actually less in the country. Still, the country holds decent placement records in the department. Most of the students get into firms after B.Arch. The highest package provided is around 12 LPA. The top role offered is as a designer.
Infrastructure: The main highlight of the campus is its infrastructure. The campus is surrounded by a lush green garden. The library and classrooms are really great. The Wi-Fi facility provided is also strong. The sports facilities on the campus are amazing, especially for football and athletics.
Faculty: All the faculty members and professors are really friendly and supportive to students, especially in the department of Architecture. After five years of the course, all the students get industry-ready. The workload for Architecture students is a bit hectic compared to other departments.
Other: The campus life is really enjoyable.

We, desparates in NIT Rourkela .
Placements: NIT Rourkela started Architecture branch in year 2013. So till now there are very less number of alumnis from this branch. And there are only 20 seats there. Most of the students from architecture branch get off campus placements. It's easier to get internship here as compared to other colleges and as you know it's 9th ranked architectural college in India.
Infrastructure: The new architecture building is under construction. And now we have studios and classrooms are in another building. Infrastructure wise it's good and college provides lot of opportunities here. As a 1st year student, we live in VS hostel, and infrastructure wise it's a good hostel having more than 1000 students. It has all the facilities like gym, badminton, table tennis, night and day canteen.
Faculty: Faculty members are student friendly. They help us in academics. They are well educated and experienced. But NIT RKL study curriculum is little bit outdated. Faculty members are highly experienced and very well versed in their respective subjects. They are very helpful towards the students in every aspect. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:15. There are majorly 2 exams named midsemester and endsemester.

Excellent college life but hectic course.
Placements: Nearly all the sit for campus placements are placed. The average package for bachelor of architecture is 8 Lacs per annum. The internships for B.Arch is provided in 4th year and it's compulsory for all the students to be the part of internship programme.
Infrastructure: Each classrooms are provided with LAN support with which a student can connect his/her device for fluent internet connection besides this a central library is provided which is accessible to all the students. The hostel facilities are quiet good with 24/7 electricity connectivity and with continuous Wi-Fi connection. There are various canteens sports complexes to play various sports and games.
Faculty: The teachers are wonderful and very much friendly. The course cirruxulum is a bit hectic for architecture degree but it's good and well planned. The semester exams are quiet easy to pass and a student who had studied a minimum but truly can easily pass.
Other: I personally loved this course hence I opted for it. The best thing about this course is it open up our mind to a great extent and open up endless ideas to execute. The course is a bit hectic and it must be improved. There are ample amount of fests taking place so that a student gets involved in the college and enjoy college to its the fullest.

I am satisfied, and there is a scope for improvement.
Placements: Placements are fine here. About 30% of students get placed from our course. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. L&T and HCL are the top recruiters here. About 100% of students got internships in top companies. Architects are the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Good facilities and infrastructure are available for our course/department like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms and library. Better quality facilities are provided in our hostel. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is good. Medical facilities are good.
Faculty: Teachers here were helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was quite good. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students better.

    The college has awesome infrastructure.
Placements: Our placements were great. Almost 100% of the students who sat for placements were placed in big companies across India and abroad. The highest package was 15.6 lacs per annum by Snapdeal. The median salary was 5.6 lacs per annum. Last year many new start-up companies also came for recruitments.
Infrastructure: Our campus is huge and consists of 1024 acres. It is the 2nd largest engineering college in India. The infrastructure is outstanding on the campus. We have every amenities from the gym to swimming pool. We have many eateries and cafes on the campus. The mess food is great. We have two stadiums, and both are having floodlights. Our cultural and tech fests are the biggest in East India. Other than these we have many other mini-fests.
Faculty: The teaching quality is great. All the teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. We have almost 100% placements. The curriculum is based on credits, and it is very helpful for the students. Other than academics we have extracurricular activities like NCC, NSS and PE.
Other: The fests are awesome and are the largest of Eastern India. Rourkela railway station is near to the campus.

It's actually not very bad experience, also you can find plenty of opportunities.
Placements: So the thing is here in architecture placement is very tough the batch is already small number like 16-20 student are in one batch, only 1-2 student get placed, and 1-3 companies are here to hire. Most common L&T construction will here and give max 6 LPA and other student can get off campus placement not easily but still can get opportunities.
Infrastructure: Our department is good actually, here faculty members are nice, personal library is there only for architecture student, and also have decent computer lab and working studios. Other than department hostel is quite good, mess food is also average, you can get plenty of options in food items also and both options veg and non veg. Medical dispensary is there easily get medicine there, and sports and games also have plenty of opportunities in playing inter NIT and much more, there are 20+ clubs to be a member.
Faculty: Actually professor are good in teaching they provide materials, also in my coarse practical subjects are more and more conventional, the curriculum is bit hectic though, I think because of NEP policy, also there is so much extra curriculum activities were there. Exam part is difficult mid sem is easier then end sem is very difficult .
Other: Honesty I don't why I choose this course, I get selected in this branch, I didn't expect to be turn out this I am happy actually with this coarse, obviously it's very hectic but sometimes I really like these coarse when you tell someone else about this coarse, and yes here fest and surrounding is very good events also happens very much here and there also festival is made here kind family feeling.
