Panjab University admission 2026 is based on entrance exam or merit as per course requirements. A few more updates are as follows:
- The GPAT 2026 application form for admission to the MPharma course is expected to be released during the first week of April 2026.
- The NEET MDS 2026 exam date has been set as May 2, 2026 (tentatively) for admission to the MDS course. The registrations for the same are expected to start soon.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech courses will be conducted from Feb 7, 2026 to Feb 8, 2026, and then from Feb 14, 2026 to Feb 15, 2026.

The answer is both yes and no. admission to all MBA courses is entrance-based at all the MBA offering institutes of PU. While for an Integrated MBA, students need a valid score in JEE Main exam, admission to UBS and UIAMS is subject to a valid score in CATor PU METexams, respectively. Students who wish to get into the specialisations or courses offered by UIAMS are required to appear for PU MET exam and those who wish to get into UBS are required to have a valid score in CAT exam.
Panjab University BA fees include various components such as tuition fees, security deposit, hostel fees, etc. Candidates who get admission to the BA/ BA (Hons) programme across any specialisation are required to pay the following fees:

Panjab University Chandigarh BTech is a UG level programme, offered in full-time mode. The University offers BTech in various specialisations such as Chemical Engineering, CSE, Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, EEE and many others. Admission to any of the specialisations is offered based on merit and entrance. Therefore, candidates must qualify Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% and secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, JAC Chandigarh, PSEB 12 etc.. The application fee for MBA at Panjab University Chandigarh is INR 2,710 for General category candidates. Panjab University offers two-year MBA programmes across four specialisations via the University Business School and across seven specialisations via the University Institute of Applied Management Sciences. Punjab University offers a four-year BE programme across eight specialisations along with an Integrated BE (Chemical) - MBA programme. Admission to both programmes is based on JEE Main. To add, the university also conducts and considers the scores of PU LEET and PU MEET scores for lateral entry admissions. The minimum eligibility for BE and Integrated courses is Class 12 with PCM subjects from a recognised board as per JAC Chandigarh eligibility criteria. All the affiliated colleges of Panjab University offering BTech are part of JAC Chandigarh counselling.
Candidates seeking admission to BSc at Panjab University are required to meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination with at least 40% aggregate in the qualifying exam and passing marks in English.
Student must have out of the three elective subjects offered by him/ her (excepting Anthropology) passed at least two Science subjects. Provided that a student shall be eligible to opt the subject of:
- CS, if he/ she has passed Class 12 with Physics, Commerce/ Economics/ Mathematics and Computer-related subjects such as CS/ IT etc. as one of the elective or optional subjects.
- Biochemistry, if he/ she has passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology
- A student may opt for CS in BSc (Non-Medical) as one of the elective subjects with the combination of Mathematics, Physics, CS.
Panjab University BCom admission is entirely merit-based for the academic year 2024. Candidates seeking admission to the programme are not required to appear for any entrance exam. Therefore, candidates can get direct admission at Punjab University for BCom.
