The basic eligibility criteria for B.Sc. Psychology (Hons) at SRM University is that the candidate should have passed Class 12 or equivalent with English Physics Chemistry Biology / Botany & Zoology / Biotechnology Percentage and scored a minimum mentioned aggregate of marks in PCB are eligible. To apply for this course, candidates need to clear the basic eligibility criteria, which is, a candidate should have passed Class 12 from a recognised board/university, with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one among Biology & Mathematics, Biology Mathematics, Botany & Zoology Forestry, Biology & Agriculture, Agriculture or have Biology and Agricultural Practices in a vocational stream with at least 50% overall aggregate. The total tuition fee for the course is INR 8 Lacs and about 240 seats are available.

SRMIST offers scholarships to help meritorious students with their academic goals. Further, the university has collaboration with a number of banking & funding organisations to enable students and parents to access scholarship and education loan services. MBA Scholarship for aspirants with UG degrees is 85% and will be given a concession of INR 50,000 in second-year tuition fees. The concession is subject to MBA first-year CGPA of above 8 and no standing arrears and commendable in participative learning. It must be noted that the information mentioned above is as per past years' data.

As per the eligibility criteria, aspirants must pass bachelor's degree in relevant subjects with at least 50% aggregate to apply for the M.Tech course. The university considers the eligibility and GATE score for providing admission.

Aspirants who have not qualified GATE can appear for SRMJEEE (PG) conducted by the university. Eligibility of candidates are evaluate during document verification. In case an aspirant is unable to fulfill the requirements, his or her admission stands cancelled.

As per the latest statistics, 9740 job offers were rolled to the 2025 batch students. Earlier, the number of offers made during SRMIST placements 2024 was over 6291. The number of high paying offers in 2025 was 4227 and in 2024 it was above 3295.

Here are some positive and negative points of SRM University: 

Positive:

1. Located in Chennai which is a metropolitan city. Three out of five campuses are located in Chennai
2. You can have a lot of fun
3. In KTR, there are a lot of opportunities provided to students to develop their profile like hundreds of clubs, teams like robocon, conrods, camber, and 4ze where students can build their own bots, cars and stuff. If you are really interested in your field then you can do anything in SRM
4. Canteen facilities are excellent
5. As far as placements are concerned, most students are placed in IT sector. Core companies also visit the campus but they select only one or two students. In a batch of 500600 students i.e. 1520 students are placed in core companies. But still that depends on your skills and we can’t blame the university for that.

Negative:

1. The student to faculty ratio is too high.
2. Faculty members are not very highly skilled, though they are postgraduates in their respective field. Most of them have completed M.Tech from other local colleges. There are very few from IITs and foreign universities.
3. The curriculum is old. 
4. The evaluation system is also not very good.
5. Very little research happens here. Most of the faculty members don’t have any publications
6. Also, if you have a lot of money you can join in management quota into any branch you want. Almost half of the students have joined in management quota.

The online application is for admission to B.Tech programmes offered in SRM IST Chennai (Kattankulathur, Vadapalani, Ramapuram, Tiruchirappalli and Delhi - NCR Campus - Ghaziabad (UP), SRM University - Sonepat, Haryana and SRM University, Andhra Pradesh - Andhra Pradesh. The exam fee is Rs.1400/ - for each phase and it is Non-Refundable. There would be 3 different phases of SRMJEEE conducted. If the candidate wishes to take the SRMJEEE exam more than once, he/she can fill the required application form with respect to each phase.
