SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam 2026 ( SRMJEEE )

SRMJEEE 2026: The SRM Institute of Science and Technology conducts the SRMJEEE (SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam) annually to shortlist candidates for admission into B.Tech.Tech.Tech courses are offered at the SRMIST campuses located at Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Ghaziabad, Andhra Pradesh, Tiruchirappalli, and Sonipat. According to the SRMJEEE 2026 exam pattern, the test is held in online mode in a home-proctored method through which candidates can appear for the exam from the comfort of their home.

During the test, students will have to answer 130 questions, and each question is worth 1 mark, making the total marks 130. The exam will have four sections - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English & Aptitude sections. What is SRMJEEE?

SRMJEEE is an annual entrance exam that is conducted nationwide to shortlist candidates for B.Tech courses at SRMIST campuses located in Chennai (Kattankulathur, Vada Palani, Rama Puram, Tiruchirappalli), Delhi NCR (Ghaziabad, UP), SRM University - Sonipat (Haryana), and SRM University, AP (Andhra Pradesh).

The questions will be based on Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology, Aptitude, and English, based on the 10+2 level. The exam will be held in home-based proctored mode, and candidates can appear through their personal laptops or desktops. Admission decisions are made solely on SRMJEEE ranks and seat availability, with candidates choosing courses during counselling.

SRMJEEE 2026 Eligibility

Candidates can check the eligibility below for SRMJEEE 2026:

Nationality: Resident Indian or Non-Resident Indian (NRI), holder of a PIO or OCI card issued by the Government of India, is eligible to apply for SRMJEEE.

  • Note: NRIs, holders of PIO or OCI cards issued by the Government of India who have not taken the SRMJEEE (UG) must apply under the International student category only.

Age: Should have attained the age of 16 years and 6 months on the 31st of July of the calendar year in which the 12th Board examination is to be held.

Qualifying Examination For all B.Tech. Courses:

    • Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry /Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Engineering Graphics.
    • Passed in Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern ) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the subjects, Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Engineering Graphics as major subjects in regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS.

Note 1: For BTech Biotechnology, Biotechnology w/s in Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology w/s in Regenerative Medicine, and Biomedical Engineering, a minimum 60% aggregate in PCM/PMB/PCB is needed. For all other courses, Chemistry will be taken for eligibility.

Note 2: If Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices are considered for eligibility, then the candidate will be eligible only for BTech Computer Science and specializations in Computer Science.

Note 3: Students who have completed +2 under NIOS must have completed the 10th standard from regular schooling or vice versa.

Q:   Who can apply for the SRMJEEE form?
A: 

Students who are in their 10+2 awaiting results, or those who have qualified in the exam can appear in the SRMJEEE exam. The minimum marks is 60 percent in PCM and students' age must be 16 years minimum to apply for SRMJEEE.

Q:   What is the SRMJEEE eligibility criteria?
A: 

According to the SRMJEEE eligibility criteria, candidates who have qualified 10+2 or have appeared in the exam and are awaiting the results can apply for the SRMJEEE exam. As far as the age is concerned, candidates must be at least 16 years of age.

Q:   What is the age limit for the SRMJEEE exam?
A: 

The age limit to apply for SRMJEEE exam is 16 years minimum as of July 31, 2025. There is no upper age limit to apply for the SRMJEEE exam.

  • Step 1: Register for SRMJEEE 2026: To begin with, aspirants need to register for the SRMJEEE exam if they are eligible.
  • Step 2: SRMJEEE 2026 Slot booking: Applicants have to do the slot booking to appear in the entrance exam. Admit cards can be downloaded after booking the slot.
  • Step 3: Download SRMJEEE 2026 Admit Card: SRMJEEE admit cards will be made available from the official website. To download the same, aspirants will need their application number and date of birth.
  • Step 4: Appear for the SRMJEEE entrance exam 2026: SRMJEEE is conducted in online mode. Aspirants are advised to follow all the instructions for the remote proctored test.
  • Step 5: Check SRMJEEE 2026 exam result: SRMJEEE result will be declared on the official website. The result will have a candidate's AIR based on which seats will be allotted to the candidates in the counselling process.
  • Step 6: Appear for SRMJEEE 2026 Counselling: Aspirants who clear the exam need to appear for SRMJEEE counselling. The counselling is held online.

SRMJEEE Scholarships

The SRM University scholarship policy considers SRMJEEE ranks, JEE Main ranks, and board exam performances to determine eligibility for scholarships, which can cover up to 100% of tuition fees, application fees, and registration fees. Scholarships like the Founder’s Scholarship and SRM Merit Scholarship are awarded based on performance in the SRMJEEE and other criteria. Scholarships are available to SRMJEEE rank holders up to rank 30,000.

Q:   What types of questions are asked in the SRMJEEE exam?

In the SRMJEEE exam the questions are asked in multiple choice format, where only one option is correct. The questions will be based on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology), English and Aptitude. Each question will carry one mark each and there will be no negative marking in the exam. The difficulty level of the questions will be on 11 and 12 class standards.

SRMJEEE Application Form 2026

SRMIST will release the SRMJEEE application form online on the official website. Upon release, candidates can apply using the steps below:

  1. Register Yourself
  2. Verify the email ID
  3. Fill out the online application form
  4. Upload the required documents
  5. Pay the application fee

While filling the online application form, candidates will have to upload the following scanned images:

  • Photograph Image: Size should be 200 X 230 pixels, 5 MB
  • Signature Image: Size should be 140 X 60 pixels, 5 MB

After the successful submission of the application form, an application number will be generated. Save that number for future reference and communications. Course/Campus preference selected at the time of application is only for statistical purposes, the actual course preference can be selected at the time of counselling based on SRMJEEE - All India Rank and availability of seats.

SRMJEEE 2026 Syllabus

SRMIST releases the syllabus of SRMJEEE, based on which questions are asked in the exam. The syllabus of SRMJEEE contains 10+2 level topics from Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude, and English. Through the syllabus of SRMJEEE, candidates can get an idea of the topics, subtopics, chapters, and units to be covered while preparing for the SRMJEEE exam. All the questions in the exam are of a multiple-choice type and have four answers, of which one is correct.

The syllabus of SRMJEEE is mostly based on 10 and 10+2 level and the questions are based on Science subjects predominantly PCM or PCB. Here we have share shared the SRMJEEE B.Tech syllabus - 

Part 1 - Physics (35 questions) - Units and Measurement, Gravitation, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids Gravitation, Current Electricity, Magnetism and Effects of current, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic induction, Alternating currents and Electromagnetic waves, Optics, Dual nature of radiation and matter and atomic physics, Nuclear Physics, Electronic devices.

Part 2 - Chemistry (35 questions) - Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, p-Block Elements, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids, 'D' and 'F' block elements, Organic compounds containing Nitrogen, Coordination Compounds, Biomolecules, Haloalkanes and Haloarenes.

Part 3 - Mathematics (40 questions) - Sets, relations and functions, Algebra, Differential calculus and its applications, complex numbers and quadratic equations, matrices, determinants and their applications, integral calculus and its applications, combinatorics permutations and combinations, analytical geometry, Trigonometry.

Part 4 - Biology (40 questions) - Diversity of living world, Structural organisation in animals and plants, cell structure and function, human physiology, plant physiology, sexual reproduction in flowering plants, human reproduction, genetics and evolution, reproduction, molecular basis of inheritance, ecology and environment organisms and populations, biology and human welfare, Biotechnology and its applications.

Part 5 - English and Aptitude (20 questions) - Numerical ability, Data interpretation, Comprehension, Vocabulary and analytical reasoning.

There are a total of 130 questions in the exam and the time duration will be 2.30 hours. There will be no negative marking in the exam.

After booking of SRMJEEE slot, candidates can download the SRMJEEE hall ticket that is generated after the completion of the slot booking process. On the day of the exam, candidates must be ready with the SRMJEEE hall ticket and valid photo ID proof. Candidates must upload a snapshot of the ID proof when needed while logging into the remote proctored exam.

SRMJEEE 2026 Remote Proctored Exam Guidelines

Candidates can check some important guidelines to be followed in the SRMJEEE remorse proctored test:

  • Laptop with functional camera and microphone. 
  • Intel i3 (4TH Gen) equivalent CPU or above.
  • 4gb RAM or above.
  • Internet Speed – Minimum 1 MBPS
  • 2 Gb free hard disk space
  • Windows 8 or above Mac 10.14 Mojave and above

Candidates cannot take the SRMJEEE online remote proctored exam from a phone or tab. Only a laptop or a computer can be used.

SRMJEEE 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

  • Candidates have to login to the exam using details provided in the admit card (Password).
  • The main examination will be of 120 minutes.
  • The candidates are expected to login at least 60 minutes before the exam to take a photograph of themselves and ID proof and to read the instructions.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to end the exam whether the candidate completes the exam or quits the exam for the first 120 minutes from the scheduled start of the exam.
  • Only one question appears on the screen and either the candidate should answer the question or skip the same if he/she does not know the answer or does not want to answer. Once moved to the next question, the candidate cannot come back to the answered/skipped questions.
  • On completion of the exam, candidates are required to follow the instructions provided to close the exam.
  • The ‘I want to submit the exam’ button appears only after 90 minutes have elapsed.
  • The quit password needs to be entered to EXIT THE EXAM (WHICH IS MANDATORY), which will be available in the Instruction Manual for taking the exam.
  • The exam also closes automatically once the scheduled exam time elapses.

Do’s and Don’ts:

Candidates must follow some instructions for the remote proctored exam:

  • Do not move from your seats, during the exam. You cannot take bio breaks during the duration of the exam.
  • You should sit facing the screen throughout the exam and should not look sideways or down.
  • You are not allowed to keep mobile phones, digital watches, or any other electronic devices with you during the exam.
  • You are not permitted to wear sunglasses/headphones.
  • You should take the exam, seated in a room where there is sufficient light. You must ensure you are the only person in the room during the exam and there is no disturbance. Do not entertain any other person in the room.
  • Do not contact/talk to anyone or take assistance from anyone during the exam.
  • Do not keep any text or bits of paper or any material/notes/rough paper with you during the exam.
  • Do not access any other site/screen on your laptop/Personal computer during the exam.
  • Do not try to log in from multiple devices.
  • Do not google or search from any other source.
  • Do not lip-sync or read the questions aloud.
  • Do not cover your face with hair/mask/clothing or anything else.
  • Do not have any background noise/voices/music//TV.
  • You are not allowed to have food/beverage during the exam except for water.
