Thapar University BTech admission process includes the submission of application form, appear for the entrance test, release of merit list, counselling process and final fee payment process for admission. The very first step of the admission process is to fill out the application form with all the mandatory details. The next step is to appear for JEE Main entrance test. Based on the scores secured in the national-level entrance test, TIET release the merit list of selected students for the final selection process. Selected candidates must appear for the counselling process and pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.
BTech from THAPAR UNIVERSITY is worth it. It is one of the oldest universities and has a good brand name. It has one of the most talented and finest faculty with good experience. Thapar University strives to maintain an environment that encourages scholarly inquiry and research, a spirit of creative independence, and a deep commitment to academic excellence. Its students as unique individuals with different interests and aspirations. The diverse programs and activities aimed at developing the quality of mind, ethical standards, social awareness, and global perspective.
Both the colleges are equally good, but I will vote for Thapar University, Patiala because of the standard which the University has maintained since its establishment. I will try to distinguish between both colleges with the help of certain parameters:
- ADMISSION PROCESS: Thapar University admits its students on the basis of JEE main marks. Usually cutoff goes higher for Computer engineering (around 180). While SRM University conducts its own examination called SRMJEE.
- CAMPUS: SRM University has a very good and beautiful campus. Student intake is higher at SRM University.
- Thaper don't have any management quota seat whereas SRM had few seats reserved for the management quota. The fee is almost similar in both colleges. And location-wise Chennai has the upper hand over Patiala.
Yes, Thapar University also offers a four-year full-time BE course at the undergraduate level covering 14 specialisations. Admission to this course is similar to the BTech course. TIET BE/ BTech admission is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam, except for BTech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering. Thapar University 50% of seats for BE admission will be filled on the basis of JEE Main score and the rest 50% of the seats shall be filled on the basis of marks secured in Class 10, 12 and graduation.
