Established in 1857, Mumbai University (MU) is a state-run institution, recognised by the UGC and accredited with an A++ grade by the NAAC. According to the NIRF Ranking 2024, Mumbai University is at 61 position among the top Universities in India. University of Mumbai offers more than 200 Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, Doctoral, and Certificate programmes in Engineering, Arts, Science, Management, Law, etc. Mumbai University also provides distance learning programmes through its Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL Mumbai University), in addition to its full-time and part-time courses.

 The University of Mumbai (MU) releases multiple merit lists every year followed by a counselling and document verification process to offer admission to students in MU-affiliated colleges. Mumbai University merit list are released for admission to more than 750 affiliated colleges in programmes such as FYBA, FYBSWA, FYBCom, FYBSc, FYBMS, FYBVoc, FYB Library Science and FYBPA. The University has not released course-specific placement data. As per the Shiksha students' reviews, the placement rate recorded in recent recruitment processes was 70%.

Hello candidate, Mithibai College, St Xavier's College Mumbai, Changu Kana Thakur College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Birla College of Arts Commerce and Science, and Shri Sindh Thakurnath SST College of Arts and Commerce are some of the popular affiliated colleges of Mumbai University for MA admission. The Mumbai University MAH MCA CET Cutoff 2025 was released for all rounds and categories under both the All India and Home State quota. For the General category candidates under the All India quota, the cutoff ranged from 80.54 to 99.37, according to the first and last round closing scores. The University of Mumbai offers two-year MA and MA (Hons) programmes in multiple specialisations to students at the postgraduate level. Mumbai University offers a list of courses via its affiliated colleges. Mumbai University first merit list 2025 has been released for BA, BMS, BSc, and BCom, among other courses. The cutoff list of a few affiliated colleges of Mumbai University, such as Mithibai College, H.R. At Mumbai University, candidates have to meet the eligibility imp for getting admission to the BSc courses. To be eligible for BSc course at Mumbai University, a student must have cleared Class 12 with several relevant subjects. The min. aggregate required in Class 12 differs across the specialisations offered to students. For most specialisations, the min. aggregate required in the Class 12 is 35%. Hence, a candidate scoring 50% in Class 12 is eligible to apply for the BSc programmes available at the university. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme at IDOL University has a duration of three years. The mode of education for this programme is distance/correspondence. Interested students can check the eligibility criteria for applying. The BA programme is divided into six semesters spread over three years. The University offers numerous specialisations for the BA course at the undergraduate level. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and includes practical learning and industry exposure.

Mumbai University cutoff 2024 for the admission to MCA course is yet to be released. MCA admission to Mumbai University's affiliated colleges is based on a valid MAH MCA CET score, followed by its counselling process. Going as per the last three year cutoff trends, The closing score for Master of Computer Applications (MCA) was 73.75 in 2023, 85.38 in 2022 and 72.65 in 2021 for VIVA Institute of Technology. For Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, the cutoff scores were 99.56 for 2021, 99.77 for 2022, and 99.76 for 2023. Similarly for other colleges under Mumbai University had the unstable cutoffs over a period of three years.

On analysing the cutoff trend, MU has witnessed a fluctuating trend for the General All India candidates. With this, we can expect an increase in the range of cutoffs this year. Tabulated below are the previous year MU cutoff based on MAH MCA CET scores:
