The ULSAT exam date 2026 will be announced soon. UPES Dehradun will conduct the ULSAT exam in an online format. It will be conducted for admission in 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB courses in multiple phases. The ULSAT 2026 registration last date is July 15, 2026. What is ULSAT Exam?

The University of Petroleum and Energy Law School Admission Test (ULSAT) is a national-level entrance test conducted for LLB, BA LLB and LLM courses offered by the UPES School of Law (SOL). A total of 520 seats are available for grabs in the UG law courses, while a total of 70 seats are available in the PG law courses. The candidates who qualify in the ULSAT exam have to attend Group discussions and interviews to get admission in their desired courses.

  • CLAT/ CUET Scores for BA LLB/ BBA LLB Course: Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks in Class X & XII and CLAT AIR ranking up to 15000
  • Board Exam Scores for BA LLB/ BBA LLB Course: Candidates with 75% marks in Class X and XII with the main five subjects. 
  • For LLM - Minimum 50% marks at Higher and Senior Secondary level (X and XII) and minimum 50% marks in Graduation with LLB Degree or equivalent.

UPES will release the scorecard of the ULSAT entrance exam anytime soon on the official website. To check the result candidates will have to use their User ID and password. Also, note that the result can be declared separately for each of the law entrance exams. The ULSAT is an entrance exam conducted for admissions in UPES Dehradun. The paper syllabus is similar to CLAT but has 150 questions only where equal weightage is given to every section including English, maths, logical reasoning, general knowledge and legal aptitude. The scores are based on the number of correct answers by a candidate out of the maximum marks of 150. The final ranks are also based on the marks obtained by a student. Thus, the better marks the better rank and better prospects of grabbing seats at UPES. Also the cutoff are released once the marks are out and seats are filled. Also, waiting lists are issues which may be given chance in case of any vacancy arising. Apart from this, there is no other method of calculation. UPES Law Studies Aptitude Test is the entrance exam for Law Degree Courses. The exam is not very different from CLAT. The subjects that are tested in CLAT are also tested here. These subjects are five in number: English including comprehension, General Knowledge, Maths, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. The preparation for the exam should start with going through past year papers to identify what topics are relevant and what areas to focus upon. Now coming to books, for English, you can use any book which covers comprehensively all the topics. Focus should be on comprehension part. For GK, you can use Pearson or Lucent. For current affairs, you can refer to monthly magazines. For Mathematics, you can use Quantitative Aptitude by RS Agarwal. the basic topics like percentages, average, profit and loss are essential. For Legal, there is no specific book but going through past year papers of ULSAT and other exams would help. For Logical, you can again use books by RS Aggarwal.
