What is ULSAT?
ULSAT stands for the University of Petroleum and Energy Law School Admission Test. This test is being conducted for admission in 3 years LLB, 5 years LLB, and LLM courses offered by the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies. The entrance exam is held in CBT mode. The exam contains MCQ-type questions. The exam pattern for LLM admission differs from the exam pattern for the rest of the Law courses. The candidates who qualify in ULSAT have to attend Group discussions and interviews to finally qualify for admission.
The ULSAT LLB exam is of 2 hours duration. Before filling the application form, the candidate needs to ensure that they meet the ULSAT 2026 eligibility criteria for their respective programme. No, you cannot get into a National Law University (NLU) with a ULSAT score. NLU admissions for the 25 participating NLUs is done through the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test). For NLU Delhi the AILET is conducted. ULSAT is for UPES, not NLUs, so you need CLAT or AILET scores.
